Brews and Tiny Teeth, The Unfiltered Pediatric Dentistry Podcast
Dr. Katie Foster recently opened her new pediatric office in Colorado. She has experienced a ton of growth and success by using Instagram to develop a brand and attract new patients. Dr. Katie gives us a few tips about how to improve your social media presence, including how to easily create reels, how often to post, what kind of content does well, and how to target followers that will convert to new patients in your office. We discuss why social media is a powerful marketing tool that will continue to be an important part of running a practice in the future!
This bonus content is a reading from Platypus, the CASTAC Blog. The full post by Katie Foster can be read at https://blog.castac.org/2024/05/on-observing-reflections-on-un-climate-policy-negotiations-from-paris-to-the-present/. About the post: What has changed from COP 21 to COP 28? How do evolving global conditions influence the process? And what does the act of observing allow within multilateral spaces and the policy-making process?
Dr. Katie Foster booked time with me out of the blue last spring (which never happens), and brought cookies and we shared a very enjoyable coffee and conversation. She was weeks away at the time from opening her business, Timnath Kids Dentistry, and was exploring the business community at large and curious about LoCo Think Tank. She's not a member at LoCo - yet - but she's our kind of people. When she can carve time away from a young business and two young children we'll be ready to find a great chapter for her! Before this conversation, I had no impression of what the world of a pediatric dentist would be like - but now I know it's not so different from any other business, especially in health care. Exercise patience, show love, build a caring team - and most of the other stuff will come together! Katie grew up in the Reno, Nevada area, and she started playing the violin at an early age, and was also a competitive swimmer. She was inspired to be a dentist whilst still in grade school, and if you listen to this conversation, and you have young children - you'll probably want her to be their dentist - just sayin'. This episode is not a paid ad, even though it may seem that way - just a fun and open talk with a smart and fresh kid dentist - so I hope you enjoy, as I did, my conversation with Dr. Katie Foster. During Jesus' final day on earth before going to the cross, there was still confusion among His disciples about what would happen next. Jesus did many unexpected things around His closest friends, but they were all necessary in leading Him to become the most important sacrifice in history. It's helpful to put ourselves into Jesus' shoes, as well as the disciples, to ask important questions about our beliefs. What does the cross mean for us? Did Jesus really have to die? Would we as Jesus' friends try to keep Him from dying? In the Good Friday finale of "The Way to the Cross", Katie Foster, Student Ministry Director, invites us to explore the meaning of the final vital moments of Jesus' life before His crucifixion.

Check out my Facebook Group, The Goal Diggers of Online Marketing, for those that want to build their business online through social media, in a genuine and authentic way. Partial Transcript (Read the Full Transcript HERE): All right, Goal Diggers, welcome back to another episode. We're going to talk about "Who's That Lady, How to Laser In On Your Ideal Avatar", because man, I gotta' tell you when I get to this part in my training programs and working with clients one-on-one or just even in messenger on social media, people are extremely confused by this. And you really do have to have this honed in completely for you to show up intentionally on social media and, most importantly, attract the right person to you. So we're going to dive in momentarily. But first a listener review is from Katie Foster. She says, "Kimberly is my person. Kimberly has been hands down my person. You look around for a mentor and hear many speakers, but none will speak to you quite like Kimberly. Her authenticity screams through all the content, whether it's text or video, you feel her aside from the warm and fuzzy vibe, she gives as if you are her family, her content and trainings are so useful that you can snag a tip and get right to action. I've had more aha moments with Kimberly than I can count. I am forever a Kimberly Olson lifer." I haven't heard that one before, Katie. You are so sweet and girl, you are a queen. You are crushing it. I've loved watching you grow. So I appreciate it girl, so much. Okay. So let's get into the nitty gritty. So when it comes to identifying your ideal avatar, first off, what is an avatar? An avatar is just your target audience. So when you hear the word audience, an audience, if you're a beginner would be your Facebook friends list. The people who are seeing your posts, your Facebook lives, or even a Facebook group list, the members in there - that's your audience. So don't get hung up on the word audience like, "well, you know, I'm not an influencer yet. I don't have an audience built". Your audience is just whoever is hearing what you have to share, right? So if you were speaking at an auditorium, your audience is sitting out there in the chairs, right? It's the same thing on social media. Whoever's seeing your posts in the newsfeed. So to start, when you're building up your audience, you don't want to be all things to everyone. A lot of times people have products that can help everyone, right? The toothpaste whitening or haircare or skincare. They're like, "well, everyone has skin, right?" But if you are trying to sell your product to everyone or share your content in a way that's for everyone, no one feels like you're speaking to them. So they don't get engaged. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thegoaldiggergirl/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thegoaldiggergirl/support
This week is a little bit different to mark the end of Series 1. I’m part of a mastermind group, and we meet once a month, and after our meeting, we always enjoy lunch together. In this episode, you’re going to be able to listen in to one of those lunchtime conversations, where the theme is all around the stories we tell ourselves and how it holds us back or has held us back in business. Within that, it covers a range of juicy topics, all relevant to entrepreneurs no matter what stage you’re at - including perfectionism, comparison, money stuff, self-belief, and listening to your own intuition and wisdom when it comes to being in business. I always get so much from these chats, just shooting the breeze, and I hope you do too, by having a little listen in to this particular one. Who you're listening to: Katie Foster of Destination Freedom Jo De Rosa of Quantum Sobriety and Inner Guidance Retreat Centre Vendulka Battais of Oliven Felting and Patchwork Cate Caruth of The Content Alchemist Maria Broadbent of Casa Bar and Restaurant and me Sarah Swanton of Happy Healthy Entrepreneur Happy listening folks and I hope you enjoy it.

"If there is something you want to do, stop thinking about it, and just go and do it, because you will not know the result until you do it. I remember when I first moved to Suffolk, and it took me a year, to approach Inner Guidance Retreat Centre, about selling our art pieces. When I actually got the courage, Jo (De Rosa) said 'you are the perfect match, you are the person we were waiting for!' and I thought why did it take me a year!" I'm delighted to welcome Vendulka Battais who is this week's guest on the Happy Healthy Entrepreneur Podcast. Vendulka is a textile artist specialising in creating beautiful wall hangings with yoga, sacred geometry and symbols as a theme. She’s the owner of OliVen - a successful and growing patchwork and quilting shop based in the heart of Suffolk, England, where she also teaches workshops, even though she prefers the word “enabler” rather than teacher as she loves to enable people to make whatever it is they want to make. When I asked Vendulka what three words sum up her entrepreneurial journey so far she said: Self Development. Creativity. Flexibility. What you’ll learn by listening to this episode: - How Vendulka went from her passion for patchwork into profit and has since been in business for 6 years. - What it's like to work in a family business, and how her 7 and 3-year-old are very much part of the business too. - What it feels like when all you want to do is 'create' and enable others to as well, but you have to run a business too! - How a daily meditation habit helps to keep her calm and gives her 30 minutes a day to herself. - Joining a mastermind was one of the best investment decisions for her personally and her business, in terms of accountability, support, and amazing friendships, but you don't have to start one, you can start your own. - It's good to be inspired by other entrepreneurs in the same field as you, but it's important to figure out what is right for you. - Fear of rejection is the silliest fear of all because it's not going to hurt you, it's just going to make you stronger and help you to learn and grow and develop. Sarah and Dimity have a virtual sit-down with Jennifer Roe and Katie Foster, two of the stars of the new documentary “From Fat to Finish Line,” which chronicles a team of 12 runners who lost a combined weight of 1,200+ pounds as they run a Ragnar Relay in Key West. Producer Jennifer leads off the conversation, telling how her running and weight-loss journey started with a vow to run “a 5-mile marathon” and why this slightly misguided intention was her $100 “action step.” Jen, a mom of a special-needs son, shares how running one mile nonstop for the first time shattered all her self-constrained limits about herself—and how now she’s training for her second New York City Marathon. Find out what she “1000% recommends” to change your mindset toward a race. (Apologies in advance: Jen has several coughing jags during the show; she was getting over a cold.)
