Whiparound Fridays continue as Andy and Brendan cover everything from the quarterback room of the Cleveland Browns to the drinking water at the Austrian Open in this episode. After crowning the Austrian Open as his "Event of the Week," Brendan was swarmed with information about the tournament and its history. He informs Andy about the past "tee up" rounds where every shot could be played off a tee and shares that the drinking water may be causing some issues for players on the course. The main portion of this episode focuses on the changes to the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup Playoffs that were announced Tuesday afternoon. Andy and Brendan discuss the removal of "Starting Strokes" from the Tour Championship and whether these changes will be enough to fix what has become a broken playoff system. With the playing field evened out at East Lake, they then debate who the worst-case scenario winner of the 2025 FedEx Cup would be. Meanwhile at the U.S. Women's Open, slow play is once again the topic of discussion with rounds nearing six hours on Thursday afternoon. Andy and Brendan then recap the NCAA Championship and some gamesmanship by an Oklahoma State player that should have him in Ryder Cup conversations. In other news, Charlie Woods is an AJGA winner, Good Charlotte is headed to Bolingbrook this summer, Blockie's angling for Champions Tour exemptions, and Bryson may have some nice digs in Washington D.C. ahead of LIV Virginia next week. To wrap things up, Brendan shares an amusing story from his trip to a diner with PJ.
This week on What a Great Punk, we're joined by writer and comedian Izzy Beach to chat about her $1,000 designer Birkenstocks that were "half price," the traumatic memory of filming with food poisoning while wearing a fake pregnant belly, and her narrowly-avoided Good Charlotte tramp stamp that might have been her ticket to fashion influencer fame. Plus: being masochists who enjoy the hollow feeling after saying something vulgar, discovering the humiliation of dry cleaners who can't actually clean anything, and Todd's controversial defense of wearing the same Metallica cut-off singlet to Greece every year. We also somehow manage to go from feeding rainbow lorikeets to American imperialism in less than three minutes. You can watch the video of this episode exclusively on our Patreon: https://patreon.com/whatagreatpunkShout outs @isobelbeechdotcom and cheers to the legends at @younghenrys for sponsoring the pod!Watch videos of the pods and get weekly bonus episodes on our Patreon — it's only 5 bucks a month, but it's still 5 bucks!:https://patreon.com/whatagreatpunkJoin us all in the TNSW Discord community chat:https://tnsw.co/discordWatch our Comedy Central mockumentary series and TNSW Tonight! on YouTube:https://youtube.com/thesenewsouthwhalesTNSW on Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/artist/0srVTNI2U8J7vytCTprEk4?si=e9ibyNpiT2SDegTnJV_6Qg&dl_branch=1TNSW: @thesenewsouthwhalessJamie: @mossylovesyouTodd: @mrtoddandrewshttps://patreon.com/whatagreatpunkhttps://thesenewsouthwhales.comShout-outs to the Honorary Punks of the Pod:Harry WalkomHugh FlassmanZac Arden BrimsClaireJimi KendallLachy TanDerrotonin69Adjoa SamMatt Sanders

In episode 117 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield take on the relationship between Rom-Com Queen Cameron Diaz and Good Charlotte band founder, Benji Madden. First, looking into Cameron's chart we encounter a Venus/South Node/Ascendant conjunction in nurturing, but protective, Cancer. Although this zodiac sign is known for being a softie, we talk about Cancer's need for maintaining a hard outer shell for safety. With Venus so prominently positioned on the Ascendant, Cameron's beauty has always been on obvious display - she started modeling at 16! We also see an exalted Moon in Taurus along with an earthy Sun/Mars conjunction in Virgo. She's grounded, health conscious and extremely hard working. However, with those Virgo planets getting a square from Neptune, her identity can get lost easily. As we look at Benji's chart we see an artistic and empathic stellium in Pisces including the Sun, Mars, and South Node. We notice that he also has Neptune squaring his Sun, adding even more Piscean energy to his chart. For him, the square could be about addiction issues, but very wise of him to use this energy to create music. We also see a grounded, yet labor intensive Saturn/Mars opposition and a friendly and unconventional approach to love thanks to Venus in Aquarius. Together they have an extremely supportive and sensual Sun/Moon sextile, creating a strong sense of connection. They also share a Venus/Sun trine in water signs, so they do have a strong intuitive and emotional connection. But we also see a heavy and even patronizing Saturn/Sun conjunction along with a sharp, instigating exact Mars opposition. Adding their square fixed sign Moons, it looks like it's hard for them to find harmony on the domestic front. Listen now and hear what unique score we give this 10+year marriage!
You've played Lethal Company. You've played Content Warning. But you haven't yet played a game like R.E.P.O. This game is from a Swedish developer called Semiwork. It's an online, co-op horror game that supports up to 6 players. Find and retrieve objects to satisfy your creator. Use your physics hand to pick up things in the world and deliver them to the extraction zone. This game is a blast to play. With a variety of monsters, procedurally generated levels and hilarious talking robot characters, we're having so much fun playing with friends. We also review Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. This is a standalone DLC ultimately for Infinite Wealth. It's a shorter experience with real-time combat and a new seafaring mechanic in ships. The game is good, but not quite as good as expected. Despite its flaws, its still fun to play and be a pirate for awhile in Hawaii. We also talk about Xbox and their new initiative to bring AI to games in the form of CoPilot for Gaming. This is meant to guide you in installing games, finding games to play and ultimately making you a better gamer. It sounds neat but is this too much like training wheels for gamers? Isn't part of the fun discovering how to play the game?Lastly, we have a special guest on the podcast again. This time we have Joseph Neville. He's a Fort Worth-based singer/songwriter who you may have seen playing shows around town. His most recent endeavor is Y2K Prom, a concert event where you get to go back in time to the year 2000, drop your phone at the door and enjoy a bit about what life was like 25 years ago with some amazing live music. His current project is a band Crying in the Car which is a mix of TLC and bands like Good Charlotte. In this conversation, we talking about how he got into music, his influences and a lot about the Switch and why it's a perfect console for casual gamers like himself. Eric Valentine's journey into music started with a $50 drum set from a garage sale and drum lessons at age nine. By 12, he was experimenting with home recordings, and by high school, he had a 4-track recorder and was recording local musicians. At 17, he and a friend launched a 16-track studio in a garage, advertising $10 per hour for recording sessions—marking the start of his professional career. His big break came when his band, T-Ride, signed with Hollywood Records under the condition that he produce and engineer their album. Instead of renting an expensive studio, he upgraded their own space, investing in high-end gear. Though the band didn't achieve major success, it led Eric to focus on producing local artists. Over the next few years, he worked with rapper Paris, recorded Joe Satriani, and ultimately helped launch the careers of Smash Mouth and Third Eye Blind. He co-produced Third Eye Blind's debut album and took a DIY approach with Smash Mouth, finishing their album before they even had a deal—leading to their signing with Interscope just days after mastering. With multiple hit records under his belt, Eric relocated from the Bay Area to Los Angeles, closing his legendary “H.O.S.” Studios to establish Barefoot Recording. There, he produced major albums for Queens of the Stone Age, Good Charlotte, Taking Back Sunday, Maroon 5, Slash, and Gwen Stefani, accumulating nearly 65 million album sales worldwide. In 2010, he expanded into recording equipment design, launching Undertone Audio to create high-end studio gear, including a Class A console with a revolutionary EQ.Most recently, Eric moved his studio setup to Vermont, where he spent four years building a state-of-the-art 10,000-square-foot recording facility. Now settled in, he's focusing on his latest passion: The Audionaut Institute, an educational platform where audio enthusiasts can explore the art of recording and production.IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL LEARN:Learning on your own vs. having a mentorWorking with Queens Of The Stone Age, Good Charlotte, and Third Eye BlindEstablishing the vision of a projectHow he gets big, natural-sounding drumsUsing minimal micing techniquesHow to tune drums to the key of a songThe beauty of imperfectionArranging your tracks so they practically EQ themselvesMaking extreme mix movesCreating movement, energy, and width in a mixTips for getting the low-end rightHis delay trick for controlling low-end headroomTo learn more about Eric visit: https://www.audionautinstitute.com/mrwevLooking for 1-on-1 feedback and training to help you create pro-quality mixes?Check out my coaching program Amplitude and apply to join:https://masteryourmix.com/amplitude/ Want additional help with your music productions? For tips on how to improve your mixes, visit: https://masteryourmix.com/ Download your FREE copy of the Ultimate Mixing Blueprint: https://masteryourmix.com/blueprint/ Get your copy of my Amazon #1 bestselling books:The Recording Mindset: A Step-By-Step Guide to Creating Pro Recordings From Your Home Studio: https://therecordingmindset.com The Mixing Mindset: The Step-By-Step Formula For Creating Professional Rock Mixes From Your Home Studio:

Famed photographer Ellen Stagg describes her work as photographing women of all levels of dress undress, empowering women, and celebrating and collaborating with them through her photography. Ellen's lifelong interest in photography began in high school in Connecticut with a senior-level photography course. She attended the prestigious School of Visual Arts, graduating with a BFA. At the end of her junior year at SVA, Stagg signed with her first agent and immediately began shooting commercial content for magazines, advertising, fashion, and exclusive clientele. Ellen's fashion and commercial work has appeared in Life, Vibe, Interview, Maxim, Flaunt, I-D, Inked, Penthouse, Time Out, Teen Vogue, and film and TV. Her subjects, drawn from acting, music, and sports, include Scarlett Johansson, Moby, Tony Hawk, Heidi Fleiss, Redman, Good Charlotte, and Geena Rocero. A complete list of her clients is at EllenStagg.com. The turning point in her career came when Ellen met porn star/actress Justine Joli, who was searching for a photographer to create content for her site. Through Joli, she met other women from the industry and continued to explore more erotic subject matter but ran into difficulty while looking for places to showcase her work. Deemed too "porn" for her commercial work and too "artsy" for porn sites, Ellen started her own website, Staggstreet.com, which brought her more notoriety and opened doors for TV work and art exhibits. Ellen was spotlighted in a ten-episode web series shot by The Independent Film Channel called "The Stagg Party". Filmed and directed by Joe Swanberg, the series received critical kudos. She then moved on to shoot/produce and star in 2 seasons of Playboy TV's "Badass," photographing models doing badass activities like cliff diving, riding horses, and driving a tracker, all in the nude while Ellen interviewed them. Ellen also starred in KarmaloopTV KarmaloopTV.com, "Behind the Lens," shooting and interviewing her models, including Stoya, Lily Labeau, Shay Laren, Kacie Marie and more. Ellen has exhibited her fine art film images at art galleries worldwide. She has shown her work at Fuse Gallery, Parlor Gallery, Stephen Romano, Morbid Anatomy, Gallery, Brooklyn, Mighty Tanaka, and Scope Art Fair. Her work is regularly featured on the covers and pages of Hustler and Taboo magazines. Ellen received three wins and numerous nominations from the AltStar Awards. You know, those boys from Good Charlotte who married Nicole Richie and Cameron Diaz? Yeah, them. Even if these two haven't been exactly relevant since 2005, they each have quite the blind item life.
