Jesus Is Alive! | John 20 Join us at Faith on Hill Church as we celebrate the resurrection and victory of Jesus Christ through John 20. Pastor Adam walks us through Mary Magdalene's encounter at the empty tomb, the disciples' initial doubt, and the moment Thomas proclaims, “My Lord and my God.” This message explores how the risen Jesus meets us in our doubt, calls us by name, and sends us out in faith. Whether you've struggled to believe, felt mislabeled by your past, or simply need to be reminded of Christ's victory, this teaching reminds us that Jesus brings life and light to all who believe. Faith on Hill gathers every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. both online and in person: Online: faithonhill.com (live stream available) In person: Our building on Hill Road Follow & Listen: YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts — just search Faith on Hill Church Weekly Gatherings: Sunday Worship & Kids Church – 10:30 a.m. Thursday Youth Group (Middle & High School) – 7:00 p.m. Small Groups – Throughout the week, online and in person
Today was a special service as we did Kids Church together.
We all know how important the church is in shaping a kid's faith — it's where foundations are built and seeds of belief take root. But let's be honest: sometimes our kids just aren't excited about going to church. It can start to feel more like a “have to” than a “get to.”In this episode, we sit down with Aaron Collier to talk about practical ways to help kids actually look forward to church. A father of two with over 14 years of experience in kids and camp ministry, Aaron shares wisdom and encouragement to help families make church a place their kids love to be.--Question of the Week: What are some of your favorite parts of going to church?--Hosts: Amy Lowe & Sara JonesGuests: Aaron CollierProducers: Emily Alters & Cody Braun--Learn more about WinShape Camps at WinShapeCamps.org!Instagram: @WinShapeCampsTikTok: @WinShapeCampsFacebook: @WinShapeCamps Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Hey everyone! Welcome to Planting the Grove, the second part of our "The Grove" message series with Pastor Chris Lodriguss! In this message, Pastor Chris lays out the vision God has given him and his wife for the ministry, continuing from last week's message. If you missed part one, definitely go back and check it out to get the full picture! To briefly recap, based on Isaiah 61, God is anointing us to preach good news and bring restoration, so we can become "oaks of righteousness" for His glory. These "oak trees"—us, who surrender to God—are then meant to rebuild ruined cities by impacting the lives of people around us, our families, communities, and cities! This week, Pastor Chris gets "granular" and reveals five core values that will guide our church moving forward. He shares a personal story about a "camp rule" from his dad ("It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it") that became a life rule for him, illustrating how values become ingrained habits. These values are meant to become habitual for us as a ministry, just like Paul ministered instinctually. Here are the five core values for The Grove:Engage: This means being intentional and authentic in how we call near and invite God and others into our lives. Nothing great or meaningful happens by accident, so let's connect on purpose and be genuine.Encourage: This value is all about care and growth. We are called to meet people where they are (like helping someone with a flat tire), showing them care, but not leaving them there. Instead, we help them grow and improve, just as a loving parent helps a child learn to walk.Empower: This is about helping people step into their purpose and calling. It involves first guiding people through freedom (so their gifts don't cause damage if their heart isn't right) and then giving them opportunity to use their gifts for God's kingdom.Expect: This value combines supernatural faith and accountability. We expect God to keep His word, and we expect people to keep theirs. We believe God's power is still moving and impacts lives today!Enjoy: We are encouraged to celebrate and honor the journey. Finding joy in what we do, even in mundane tasks, strengthens our connection and commitment, just as a parent finds joy in caring for their children.Pastor Chris encourages everyone to identify one or two of these values that resonate most with them and look for ways to live them out, recognizing that the Holy Spirit will work through us.To help put these values into action, the church is moving to two services on Sunday, September 21st (9 AM and 10:45 AM) to make room for more people! If you're looking to get involved and "sow" into the ministry, especially in Kids Church or security, your help is greatly needed! Come to the Tab Team meeting on Sunday, September 7th, immediately after church, to learn more and get connected.By living out these values, we will become a "grove of oak trees that rebuilds desolate cities" because the solution to our community's problems is in this room, as Jesus is here!

This week was Kids Church Sunday! We continued our "Wide Awake" series with a message from our Puppet Team and Val Farr one of our JCT Kids Directors on Waking Up! Ephesians 2:1-10, Ephesians 5:8-14
Hey family, before we start, I just want you to know that there are a lot of different ways that we’re growing together in our church this year. We have Bible studies, service opportunities, and even a salsa class coming up! So get plugged in on Sundays and start growing. The most important thing in the world is what you think about God. The second most important is what you think about yourself. Many of us grew up in families who instilled in us an identity that no longer matches who we are in Christ. Perhaps it is was through verbal abuse, physical abuse, or psychological abuse. Or maybe you just heard from the world this idea that you couldn’t be free, grow healthy, or move forward with what God has called you to do. This week is the second part of our IDENTITY series. We’re going to look at the scriptures and see what God says about us--and how that changes everything, in every aspect of our lives. We meet at 10 a.m. on Sundays, 360 Schermerhorn St. Bring a friend! Kids Church for ages 5-12 also starts at 10.
This week is Kids Church Sunday and our Puppet Team along with Val Farr, one of our Kids Directors, teach on overcoming fear. John 16:33
A Christmas celebration is for everyone... but when you add children to the story, it gets even better (and harder). And this Sunday we've added the children into the celebration. We've told you the story of Christmas, we've uncovered some surprising gifts for families, and yes, we did party after! First time listening to our podcast? We'd like to get to know you! How can we prevent the cover up of sin and abuse in the church? How can we do what God wants even when everything seems against it? Should Christians in America really give Israel unwavering support? You might not think all of these topics go together but somehow, in Judges 20, it all makes sense. Also, Pastor Adam's answer to the last question might surprise you. We gather together every Sunday at 10:30am for the worship of God through prayer, community, song and Bible study. Kids Church and Middle school are Sundays. Youth Group for Middle and High School is Thursday nights at 7pm.
Kids Church took over the Big Church again this Sunday. What a good opportunity to unite the two services, see what the kids are learning, and worship our Father in heaven.

Hey family, throughout this series we've learned some truths about work. Some of us view work as gross, a necessary evil to be endured. Others view work as God--the thing that we pour ourselves into and get our identify from. The truth is, work is worship, an opportunity to praise God with the gifts he's given us and thank him for the place he's given us to use them. This week we're going to look at another aspect of work that is actually one of the most important commands that God has ever given. That command is to stop work and take a day of rest, or as the Bible calls it, sabbath. The Sabbath is a fundamental part of our lives. It's a reminder of the work that God has already done and a way to hear him amid the hustle and bustle of life. I hope to see you, and bring a friend! Hey family: Most of our lives are spent doing some kind of work. Some of us do what we love, and some of us do what we need to do to get by. In either circumstance, we have an opportunity to find great meaning in what we do. Whether we are homemakers, construction workers, sales people, or pastors, God has a purpose for us in the work that he gives us to do. Let’s grow together in how we see what we do at work as an extension of who we are in Christ. Join us Sunday at 10 a.m., 360 Schermerhorn St. Kids Church for ages 5-12 also starts at 10 a.m. ANNOUNCEMENTS: · New Zoom Bible study—Monday Sept. 16 and 23. “Does God (Really) Care About Your Work?” Join other church members as we dig deeper into the scriptures in this new two-week study. In today's world, there are so many different ways our kids might be dealing with trauma. For this month's podcast, we brought in some experts to explore the question of if it is possible to "trauma proof" our kids. This is a different format for our podcast. This is a recording from one of our Parent Talks that took place this last Spring. We think this conversation is extremely valuable to our parents but also for our students and for adults without kids as well. We pray you find some value in what is said and let's keep this conversation going and take active roles in our kids lives!
