Watch or listen to Robin Waller, church planter and Lead Pastor of Lift Church, being interviewed by seasoned journalist, Lorna Dueck. In this episode, Robin shares his journey from starting out as a nuclear engineering student to leading a network of churches across nine university campuses in Canada. He shares how simple, relational evangelism is reaching a new generation, and how today's students are more spiritually open than we might think. He compels everyday Christians, not just pastors, to play a vital role in disciple-making. In this episode, Robin and Lorna discuss: The story behind launching a church in a university bar and growing into a national campus movement. Sustainable church planting and why combining career and ministry is key. Church growth at Canadian universities and why simple conversations, not big events, are driving growth. How daily Bible reading across an entire church builds deep spiritual formation. Why messy, authentic community is sometimes more effective than polished environments. Biblical inspiration from Paul and Timothy for modern disciple-making movements. Read the transcript: https://biblesociety.ca/transcript-scripture-untangled-s13-ep3=====For the past twenty years, Robin Wallar has devoted himself to making disciples on university campuses in Canada, first as a nuclear engineering student and now as a church planter and software developer. Together with his wife, Laura, they lead LIFT Church, a collegiate discipleship and church planting movement on seven campuses across Canada. Robin's passion is to equip every follower of Christ for disciple-making and church planting in co-vocational settings. He shares the values and theology behind co-vocational ministry in his book Everyone Sent and has written a comprehensive discipleship guide called Living Sent, which are used by students and ministries across North America. He also writes on these topics weekly on Substack. In addition to leading LIFT Church, Robin leads Engage Spaces, a software company designed to support disciple-making movements. He and Laura live in the beautiful city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, with their two children. https://www.liftchurch.ca/ Canadian Bible Society: biblesociety.caHelp people hear God speak: biblesociety.ca/donateConnect with us on Instagram: @canadianbiblesocietyThe Bible Course: biblecourse.ca

Living Sent - Part 2: Sound Bite Evangelism One of the most frustrating things about being a Jesus follower is the questions people ask about what you believe. If you had forty-five minutes, you could give a thorough answer. But what are you supposed to say in just a few seconds? How do you answer their question in a way that creates a desire for them to pursue a longer conversation? Is that even possible in our current culture? We think it is.

Living Sent - Part 1: You Are SentJesus most frequently identifies himself as “the Sent One” and as his followers part of our identity is a “sent one.” So, living sent is what we do that stems from who we are. To live sent is to be a witness to what God is doing around us and then we witness to others what God has done for them through Jesus. It is the business of ordinary people who lean into the Holy Spirit for power and guidance to make disciples of all nations.
Living SENT begins with loving God with all in devotion, and practically that flows into loving our neighbors both near and far.
As Christians, each of us ought to live with a mindset of being SENT with the message of Jesus, and the enduring motivation comes from a love for God.
Trey & Bellamy Lyon share about life as career missionaries, the call to obedience, and how they still work in missions even off the field.

Jesus Changes Everything | Restored & Sent After the resurrection, Jesus didn't wait for the disciples to figure things out — He met them in the middle of their fear, behind locked doors, and changed everything. In John 20:19–23, we see the risen Jesus offer four things we all desperately need: His presence, His peace, His power, and His purpose. Because of His victory over the grave, we don't have to rely on our own strength to navigate life's fears and uncertainties. Jesus steps into our lives, breathes new life into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, and calls us to live boldly for Him. Key Insights: • Jesus meets us in our fear — not after we've fixed it • The peace Jesus gives is deeper than circumstances • Jesus offers what no one else can: peace, power, and purpose • Every believer is called and empowered to be sent • The resurrection isn't the end of the story — it's the beginning of new life Key Scripture: John 20 (https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JHN.20.NIV) This message invites us to open every closed-off place in our lives and trust Jesus to fill them with His freedom. His peace quiets our fears. His Spirit empowers us to live fully. His purpose gives meaning to every step we take. Wherever you are, Jesus is ready to meet you — and change everything.
