Welcome to Casting Actors Cast — the podcast that gives actors the tools, tactics, and mindset shifts they need to work smart and book more. I'm Jeffrey Dreisbach, your host — casting director, author, and coach. Today's episode flips the script in a really fun and useful way. We're calling it: Act Like an Agent. That's right — we're going to look at your acting career from the perspective of the people who represent you — your agents and managers. Why? Because the better you understand their world — their pressures, their priorities, their process — the stronger and more effective you'll be as their client. This isn't just about 'being easier to work with.' It's about empathy, strategy, and collaboration. So, if you've ever wondered how to get more auditions, how agents make their decisions, or how to keep that relationship healthy — this episode is tailor-made for you. In this Legal Tuesday episode of The Rainmaking Podcast, host Scott Love speaks with Steve Seckler, attorney coach and author of Think Like a Lawyer, Act Like an Entrepreneur. Steve shares how lawyers can overcome their aversion to selling by reframing business development as an authentic, relationship-based activity. Drawing from his own journey as a risk-averse skeptic, Steve offers practical tools for lawyers who want to grow their practices without feeling like salespeople. He emphasizes the importance of listening, curiosity, and small, consistent actions that build trust—like sending follow-ups, maintaining light touches with contacts, and showing up at live events. Steve also outlines the value of identifying a niche to become more memorable in a competitive marketplace. He encourages lawyers to engage in business development activities that feel natural and aligned with their personalities, whether that's bar association involvement, speaking engagements, or nonprofit service. Key takeaways include avoiding the pitfall of waiting for a “rainy day” to market, following up with intention, and starting relationship-building early in one's career. The episode concludes with three action steps: gain clarity on who you serve, commit consistent time to marketing, and pursue authentic strategies that reflect your strengths. After their “Act Like a Man” episode, the Perrys thought it would be beneficial to also have a conversation on womanhood. When Jackie first became a believer, she felt as though many books she read on womanhood leaned heavily on cultural contexts or norms instead of Biblical frameworks. As she has become more comfortable in her femininity, she's learned more about what it looks like to show up as a woman in everything God has called her to, whether that be marriage, motherhood, or ministry. Jackie and Preston discuss women's unique interpretations of scripture because of experiences men can't relate to, why a wife's submission to her husband is an act of tremendous strength, and how women's voices can be prioritized and dignified in the church. This Episode is Sponsored By: https://liberty.edu/Perry — Get your application fee WAIVED when you start your future with Liberty University today! https://www.covenanteyes.com/perrys/ — Get Victory by Covenant Eyes FREE for 30 days with promo code PERRYS Scripture references:Genesis 16 (the story of Hagar)Ephesians 5:22-24 & 231 Peter 3:5-6 Subscribe to the Perrys' newsletter. To support the work of the Perrys, donate via PayPal.www.withtheperrys.comboldapparel.shopwww.jackiehillperry.comwww.preston-perry.com

Pastor Dave emphasizes the importance of Father's Day and the need for honoring fathers in a culture that often overlooks them. He draws parallels between biblical figures, such as King David and his instructions to Solomon, highlighting that true strength comes from obedience to God's word. Pastor Dave encourages men to be vigilant and act like God-designed men, recognizing that their actions have generational consequences. Ultimately, he calls for men to trust in God, put on the armor of faith, and stand firm in their commitment to Christ for a fulfilling legacy.1 Kings 2:1-4 1 When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son.2 “I am about to go the way of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, act like a man, 3 and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go 4 and that the Lord may keep his promise to me: ‘If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.'1 Corinthians 16:13-14 13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love.Matthew 18:8-98 And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.

Thirty Minutes with The Perrys

In 1 Corinthians, Paul says, “Act like men, be strong.” But what does manhood look like?In this episode, Preston explores some of his earliest views of masculinity as a kid and what it meant to “be a man.” The development of our identity is shaped by both parents in unique ways, so the Perrys talk about the dynamics of being nurtured – or not – by a mother and a father. They also discuss the modeling of emotional maturity, the idea of attachment theory, healthy relationships with other men, and opportunities for discipleship.Resources:Manhood Restored (Dr. Eric Mason)This Momentary Marriage (John Piper) Scripture references:1 Corinthians 16:13 Subscribe to the Perrys' newsletter. To support the work of the Perrys, donate via PayPal.www.withtheperrys.comboldapparel.shopwww.jackiehillperry.comwww.preston-perry.com

This week I'm sitting down with my good friend Brett for a conversation I've been itching to have—about faith. Not the easy, Instagram-quote kind of faith, but the gritty, “what do I do when I have zero evidence things will work out?” sort of faith. I'll share a story about a woman who waited five years for her husband with nothing but hope to hold onto, and Brett opens up about what it's really like to act as if your prayers are already answered—even when it feels like you're just waiting in the dark.We get real about what it means to trust God, how we wrestle with doubt, and why sometimes letting go of our own plans is the only way to make room for miracles. There are a few twists—like what kitchen appliances and TEDx talks have to do with trusting God (I promise, it'll make sense!)—and we even challenge the classic definitions of faith you've probably heard your whole life.If you've ever wondered, “How do I hold on when nothing seems to be happening?”—or if you're searching for a new way to look at your journey—this is an episode you don't want to miss. So stick around; the answers might surprise you. Please share this episode with someone who needs to hear it.
