Undivided | Week 2 | Ken Miller--Hearing God's word is not the same as obeying it, obedience reveals whether faith is real, and Faith that doesn't act is faith that deceives.--Notes
Have you ever been in a storm so violent that you felt like you were going to lose everything? Like the waves were too high, the wind too fierce, the situation too far gone? Have you ever looked at what was happening around you and asked — Lord, carest thou not that I perish? I want you to stop right now and receive this truth — because what Jesus did in Mark chapter 4 is exactly what He is doing for you in the middle of YOUR storm today. The disciples were experienced fishermen. They knew the Sea of Galilee. They knew what dangerous water looked like. And when a great storm of wind arose that night — these seasoned men of the sea were terrified. The waves beat into the ship. The ship was full of water. And Jesus — the Son of God — was in the back of the boat, asleep on a pillow.Take comfort in this today — the same Jesus who said Peace, be still to the Sea of Galilee is standing in YOUR boat right now. Your storm is not bigger than His word. Your waves are not higher than His authority. Your situation is not beyond His voice. When Jesus speaks PEACE into your storm — your storm has no choice but to OBEY.

John 4:50 (ESV) - “Jesus said to him, ‘Go; your son will live.' The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way.” In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall teaches that not all miracles happen the same way, but many are released through simple obedience to God's word. He highlights how Jesus sometimes healed not through touch or visible action, but by giving a command that required faith to obey. Pastor Sumrall explains that the official's son was healed the moment the father chose to believe and act on Jesus' instruction. In the same way, the man at the pool was healed when he obeyed Jesus' command to stand and walk. These moments reveal that faith is often expressed through obedience, even when the instruction seems simple. As you watch this episode, be encouraged to trust God's word and respond in faith, knowing that sometimes your breakthrough comes not through what you see, but through how you obey. ----- Don't forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon

In this message, we walk through a clear and compelling framework that reveals the difference between cultural Christianity and genuine discipleship. True faith is not merely claimed, it is demonstrated. The believer loves. Not sentimentally, but sacrificially. A heart transformed by Christ is marked by deep affection for Him and sincere love for others. The believer obeys. Love for Christ does not remain internal, it moves into action. Obedience is not legalism; it is the natural overflow of devotion. And the believer multiplies. Faith was never meant to terminate on us. A life changed by the gospel becomes a life that reproduces, invests in others, and makes disciples.Key Points: 1. Loves 2. Obeys 3. Multiplies This is the rhythm of a life fully surrendered to Christ.
After a longer than anticipated break, the pastors are back, this time, visiting JR Phinickeys in Monroe, WA and tackling one of Jesus' most uncomfortable questions: “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,' and not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46).This isn't a question for skeptics — it's a question for churchgoers. For people who sing the songs, know the verses, and claim the name of Jesus. In this episode, we explore what it really means for Jesus to be Lord — not just in confession, but in obedience. Why is there often a gap between what we say we believe and how we actually live? And what does it look like to build our lives on the rock instead of sand?Join us for a real, honest conversation about discipleship, authority, grace, and the kind of obedience that forms a life that can withstand the storms. Grab a slice and lean in — this one's for all of us.

God covenants with Abraham, but He also calls Abraham to obey. God calls Abraham to bear the sign of circumcision, that he might live by faith in the hope of the Promised One to come. The Promised One comes, bringing with Him a circumcision made without hands, that His faithful might live obediently by the sign of His New Covenant (baptism), while waiting with hope for His return.
