It's Friday, February 27th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Islamic State's ‘new phase' in Syria as U.S. military withdraws Within the last week, the Islamic State terror group has launched an unusual series of attacks in Syria, part of what it calls a “new phase of operations” against the 11-month-old Syrian government, reports International Christian Concern. Simultaneously, the United States is actively withdrawing from bases in the area. Fighting between Syrian government forces and U.S.-allied Kurdish forces has weakened the resistance faced by the Islamic State.  The terrorist group has been relatively inactive in and around Syria since its territorial defeat in 2019, instead shifting its focus to Africa. Syrian President Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa was previously a member of the Islamic State and is an avowed jihadist. While he's made bold public statements about his interest in peace and tolerance, forces associated with his government have repeatedly committed or allowed mass tragedies to take place. CNN: No clear Democratic presidential frontrunner CNN data analyst Harry Enten revealed that two years away from the 2028 Democratic presidential primary season, the party's prospects look dim, reports The Western Journal. Listen. ENTEN: “This is just a downright clown car at this point on the Democratic side. I mean, just take a look here: Top choices for the 2028 Dem. pres. nominee. You have a leader, but it's not really a clear leader. It's within the margin of error. You have [Gavin] Newsom at 19%, then you have former Vice President Kamala Harris at 18% -- quite a weak number for her, given that, of course, she was the nominee the last time around. Pete Buttigieg, who, of course, has run before: 13%.  [Rep.] Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez [of New York] at 12%. “This is just a total clown car. It is a total mess. There is no clear front runner at this particular point on the Democratic side. This is very unusual for the Democratic side to not have a clear front runner. “At this point in 2020, when there was no incumbent, it was Joe Biden who was there, Hillary Clinton in both ‘08 and ‘16 and Al Gore in both 2000 and 2004 at this point were at least at 25%.” Picture leaked of Hillary Clinton in Epstein file inquiry Chaos erupted inside Hillary Clinton's Jeffrey Epstein deposition on Thursday after a Republican lawmaker took a photograph of her during the private session, reports the Daily Mail.  Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert of Colorado snapped a picture of Hillary at the deposition, then leaked it to conservative influencer Benny Johnson who offered his thoughts. JOHNSON: “Lauren Bobert sent me this photo and told me I could publish it just to show everyone that Hillary Clinton is testifying. It's not a big deal. This is what Hillary Clinton looks like. But her entire team lost their minds over this and started screeching about this. There's nothing wrong with posting this photo. The Clintons themselves are the ones who demanded that there be media inside of the room. They wanted this all be live streamed on TV.  So, what's wrong with this? They're just looking for an excuse to get out of this testimony. That's what's actually going on.” Hillary's lawyers asked that the proceedings be halted after the photograph began circulating on social media. Johnson spoke to Hillary's motive and claimed she had already lied in a press statement she released ahead of her testimony. JOHNSON: “She's already lied, by the way. She said that she didn't know Jeffrey Epstein, but that's not true. Not only did her husband, of course, have Jeffrey Epstein at the White House a million times, fly on his plane a million times, but Jeffrey Epstein's own emails show that he knew her multiple times. “In Jeffrey Epstein's emails, he talks about what Hillary Clinton looks like up close. He talks about meetings with Hillary Clinton. All these people are emailing Jeffrey Epstein saying, ‘Hey, man, we know that you know Hillary Clinton. Can you get me a meeting with her?' So, this seems like an obvious lie. And this is what they're trying to distract from because I posted a photo?” The former secretary of state was deposed at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center near the Clintons' home in Westchester County, New York, while Bill Clinton will testify today.  Indiana: Christian adoptive families & agencies can affirm Biblical ethic On Wednesday, Indiana Republican Governor Mike Braun signed HB 1389, a bill that ensures families and Christian adoption and foster care groups that want to provide loving homes for kids are not pushed out because of their religious or moral beliefs, reports Alliance Defending Freedom. Greg Chafuen, Senior Counsel for the Christian legal rights group, said, “Every child deserves a loving home that can provide them stability and opportunities to grow. The sad reality is that the government in some states has discriminated against people of faith, allowing vulnerable children to suffer. Thankfully, Indiana has taken critical steps to prioritize the well-being of kids.” The anti-God forces reject the truth of Genesis 2:24 which says, “A man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” How the late Jesse Jackson flip-flopped on abortion And finally, Rev. Jesse Jackson, who met his Creator on February 17th at the age of 84, was a civil rights activist and two-time presidential candidate in 1984 and 1988. Before he sold out to the abortion lobby in his aspiration to be Commander-in-Chief, LifeNews columnist Raimundo Rojas explained that Jackson “spoke with rare moral clarity about the child in the womb.” In a March 22,1973 interview, just two months after Roe v. Wade, Jackson told Jet magazine, “Abortion is genocide. Anything growing is living. … If you got the thrill to set the baby in motion, and you don't have the will to protect it, you're dishonest.” That same year Jackson said, "Abortion is too nice a word for something cold, like murder," according to the New York Times. In a column he wrote for National Right to Life News in January 1977, Jackson compared abortion to the old defenses of slavery. He warned that “the name has changed, but the game remains the same” when society strips the baby of protection. He spoke of new life with reverence, insisting, “It takes three to make a baby: a man, a woman, and the Holy Spirit.” Then ambition met party power. As Jesse Jackson moved toward a presidential run inside a Democratic Party that increasingly demanded loyalty to abortion, his public stance began to soften. By 1984, he described himself as “for freedom of choice, not pro-abortion,” and said that while he held a pro-life view, he did not want to “force” it on others through law. By 1988, he argued that “it is not right to impose private, religious and moral positions on public policy,”  according to the Washington Post. Raimundo Rojas of LifeNews concluded, “The man who once called abortion genocide now treated his convictions as a private matter. Nothing in science or reason justified that turn. What changed was the political cost of speaking on behalf of the child. “His life holds a lesson for every believer and every political leader. You cannot keep your deepest convictions in one box and your public positions in another. Do not trade moral clarity for political convenience. Do not let party loyalty silence your conscience.” Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, February 27th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. It's Thursday, February 26th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Russian-Ukrainian war in its fifth year The war between Russia and Ukraine entered its fifth year this week. International Christian Concern reports religious communities in the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine continue to face harassment and violence. Protestant churches are especially targeted with intimidation, raids, and closures. The European Evangelical Alliance is calling on Christians to pray for their brothers and sisters caught in the conflict. The organization noted, “Churches continue to serve courageously. Acts of compassion and solidarity are widespread. Stories of protection, provision, and spiritual awakening remind believers that God remains present and active even in the darkest times.” Romans 8:28 reminds us, “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” 1.8 million casualties in Russian-Ukrainian war After four years of fighting, Russia and Ukraine have experienced an estimated 1.8 million casualties. That includes people killed, wounded, and missing.  U.S. President Donald Trump continues to broker peace talks between the two countries even as the war drags on.  Ukrainian representatives plan to meet with U.S. envoys in Geneva, Switzerland today. This is ahead of a potential trilateral meeting between the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine next week.  U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently wrote on X, “President Trump wants a solution that ends the bloodshed once and for all.” European Commission fines X $140 million Speaking of X, the company is challenging a $140 million fine imposed by the European Commission.  The commission is using the European Union's Digital Services Act to impose censorship on American tech companies. Jeremy Tedesco with Alliance Defending Freedom stated, “The platforms the Digital Services Act targets … are the modern public square. They are where Americans debate politics, share their faith, and hold the powerful accountable. … The EU Commission is targeting X for a simple reason: X is committed to free speech, and the Commission demands censorship.” El Mencho's Mexican cartel extorted and harassed pastors As The Worldview reported on Tuesday, Mexico's military forces killed the drug cartel leader, Nemesio Cervantes,  known as “El Mencho” on Sunday. He was the most wanted person in Mexico and one of the most wanted people in the United States.  The cartel he led was known for terrorizing not only businesses but also church leaders in Mexico. Pastors faced intimidation, extortion, harassment, and threats at the hands of the cartel.  Trump affirmed “one nation under God” In the United States, President Donald Trump delivered his 2026 State of the Union Address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday.  The speech lasted for an hour and 48 minutes, the longest State of the Union Address in modern tracking.  At one point, he asked a question. TRUMP: “One of the great things about the State of the Union is how it gives Americans the chance to see clearly what their representatives really believe. So tonight, I'm inviting every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. “If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. ‘The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.'” (Republicans applauded) Not surprisingly, all the Republicans stood and all the Democrats remained seated, revealing the stark contrast between the two major parties. Throughout his speech, the president mentioned the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. He acknowledged the hand of Providence in our country's destiny and celebrated recent renewal in religious interest among young people. Listen. TRUMP: “I'm very proud to say that during my time in office, both the first four years, and in particular this last year, there has been a tremendous renewal in religion, faith, Christianity and belief in God. “This is especially true among young people, and a big part of that had to do with my great friend, Charlie Kirk, a great guy, a great man.” (You can watch the State of the Union here.) Singer Johnny Cash remembered for faith in Christ And finally, today marks the birthday of Johnny Cash. The iconic American singer was born on February 26, 1932.  He rose to fame in the music scene in the 1950s before coming to Christ later in the 1970s. He became known as the “Man in Black” for his all-black stage suits.  After his conversion, Cash would use his music to share the Gospel, often performing at Billy Graham Crusades.  Cash remains one the best-selling music artists of all time. He was inducted into the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame.  One of his last recorded songs was called “I Came to Believe.” Listen to the chorus. “I came to believe in a Power much higher than I. I came to believe that I needed help to get by. In childlike faith, I gave in and gave Him a try. And I came to believe in a Power much higher than I.” Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Pick up a copy of Greg Laurie's biography entitled, Johnny Cash: The Redemption of an American Icon.  And watch the Christian movie by the same name.  Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, February 26th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Yemen authorities arrested 20 Christians Authorities in Yemen, a country in the Middle East bordering Saudi Arabia to the north, have arrested at least 20 Christians in recent months. For simply professing Christ, these believers can face torture and even death. The Islamic country is located in the south of the Arabian peninsula. It is illegal for Christians to publicly display or share their faith there.  International Christian Concern notes, “The arrests in Yemen paradoxically confirm what missionaries and human rights observers have long suspected: despite being one of the most dangerous places on Earth to be a Christian, Yemen hosts a growing indigenous church.” According to Open Doors, Yemen is the third most oppressive country worldwide for Christians. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus said, “On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” Christian Canadian fined $750,000 for opposing gender confusion The British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal fined a Canadian Christian $750,000 last week for opposing gender confusion. Barry Neufield is a former Board of Education trustee for the district of Chilliwack. He posted on social media that there are only two sexes, and he opposed transgender ideology in the schools. Neufield wrote on Facebook that the widespread embrace of such ideology has “demonized people of faith who believe that God created humans male and female: In the Image of God.” Judge fined Maryland school district for promoting sexual perversion In the United States, a federal judge fined Maryland's largest school district $1.5 million last week for promoting sexual perversity. Parents sued Montgomery County Public Schools for not allowing them to opt their children out of storybooks featuring such perversity. Eric Baxter with The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty commented, “Public schools nationwide are on notice: running roughshod over parental rights and religious freedom isn't just illegal—it's costly.” Louisiana allowed to display 10 Commandments in classrooms Louisiana can now enforce its law for every public school classroom to display the Ten Commandments.  The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued the ruling last week in favor of the displays. The ruling stated, “There can be no doubt that the Ten Commandments bear immense religious significance. … But they also ‘have historical significance as one of the foundations of our legal system.'” Deuteronomy 6:7 and 9 says this of God's commandments: “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. ... You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Vermont foster families allowed to affirm Biblical view The state of Vermont will no longer require families to abandon their religious beliefs in order to be foster families. The new policy comes thanks to the litigation of Alliance Defending Freedom. The issue began after Vermont revoked the licenses of two Christian families for opposing gender confusion.  The Christian legal rights group's Senior Counsel, Johannes Delphonse, said, “This is an incredible victory for children in Vermont's foster-care system.” Conservative Methodist denomination hits 7,000 churches worldwide The Global Methodist Church recently announced it reached 7,000 churches worldwide.  The denomination launched in 2022 after years of internal conflict within the United Methodist Church over human sexuality. Many theologically conservative churches left the mainline denomination since then. The Global Methodist Church posted on Facebook, “This moment reminds us that growth isn't just measured in numbers — it's found in repentance, renewal, and lives being transformed by Jesus Christ.” U.S. economy growing slower than expected U.S. economic growth was slower than expected during the fourth quarter of 2025. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported real gross domestic product increased at an annual rate of 1.4 percent last quarter. That's down from 4.4 percent during the third quarter and much lower than expectations.  Government spending was down during the fourth quarter because of the record-length shutdown.  Chicago man saved baby out of frigid Lake Michigan And finally, a Chicago man saved an eight-month-old baby from the frigid 35-degree waters of Lake Michigan last Wednesday.  Block Club Chicago reports 30-year-old Lio Cundiff was taking a walk along the lake at Belmont Harbor. That's when he heard a woman scream. Gusting winds had sent her stroller with her baby into the lake.  Cundiff can't swim. But he dove in to save the baby anyways. He wasn't sure how long he could keep her above water, but thankfully other bystanders stepped in and helped.  He said, “If she's going down, I'm going down with her. I couldn't live with myself if that baby hadn't made it. … If it wasn't for everyone being alert and helping, I don't know what would've happened. I'm very thankful.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, February 25th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. Officials arrested, charged, and convicted Stephen Green for holding a sign with a Bible verse near an abortion mill in 2023. The verse was Psalm 139:13 which says, “For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother's womb.” Green stated, “As a Christian, I should be able to preach freely all over the land. Psalm 139 is about how we all belong to God from conception. Buffer zones and this conviction [are] a direct attack on the Bible and free speech.” Elon Musk endorsed new conservative political party in England Billionaire Elon Musk endorsed a new conservative political party in Britain last week. On Friday, Member of Parliament Rupert Lowe launched the Restore Britain Party. Musk shared the launch video on X which has received nearly 40 million views.  The party is devoted to ending mass immigration and the creeping Islamification of Britain. Rupert Lowe also stated the party will openly recognize the country's Christian heritage.  Listen. LOWE: “Restore Britain will openly recognize the Christian heritage that shaped this country's moral and civic foundation. (applause) Duty, restraint, forgiveness and, most importantly, fairness. These values created a high trust society. “Restore Britain will end the creeping Islamification of Britain. (applause)  Unfettered immigration from Islamic countries will end. (applause) Britain is a Christian country, and under Restore Britain government, it will remain a Christian country.” (applause) Church of England votes against blessing homosexual couples Last week, the Church of England  voted against proposals to allow blessing services for homosexual couples. The General Synod did not shut the door on the issue though, voting to investigate it in the future.  The move keeps the church from performing marriage services and blessing services for people living in unnatural relations. However, the Church of England's rules already allow blessing prayers within regular Sunday services for such couples.  Proverbs 25:26 says, “Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.” Franklin Graham preached in world's southernmost city Evangelist Franklin Graham  preached in Ushuaia, Argentina. It's known as the southernmost city in the world. Listen. GRAHAM: “What makes Ushuaia so special are the people. We love the people. If you can't remember anything else tonight, remember this: God loves you. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take our sins. We deserve death. We're guilty of sin. “Bartimaeus had no hope. There are many of you here tonight. You have no hope. Now, Bartimaeus cried at the right time. Jesus was passing by. The Bible says that ‘God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but he should have everlasting life.' “Will you invite Christ into your heart? Will you trust Him? Come. Come to Jesus.” Hundreds of people turned to Christ through the evangelistic outreach event. Graham wrote on X, “We give God the glory for each one who responded to the invitation to repent of their sins and put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.” Eighty-two percent of South Americans identify as Roman Catholic, but evangelicalism has been growing in recent decades.    Graham also plans to visit Peru next month. 21 states challenge mail-order abortion kill pills In the United States, 21 states and 60 members of Congress are challenging mail-order abortion drugs. Louisiana initiated the case, challenging a Biden-era rule from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The rule removed the in-person dispensing requirement for the abortion drug mifepristone.  Erik Baptist with Alliance Defending Freedom stated, “The Biden FDA's unlawful authorization of mail-order abortion drugs was meant to be a loophole around states that choose to protect life.” 41-year-old mother Olympic bobsledder wins gold (audio Olympic theme song) American Olympic bobsledder Elana Meyers Taylor  won her first gold medal on Monday. The 41-year-old mother triumphed in the women's monobob event at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.  She is now the oldest gold medalist in an individual Olympic event. After the victory, she said this on Instagram: “The moment we prayed for. Glory to God.” Norway has won the most gold medals Nearly 2,900 athletes from over 90 countries are competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics.  So far, Norway has won the most gold medals and the most medals overall. In the medal count, Norway is followed by Italy and the U.S. A podium finish can mean big prize money for athletes. A gold medalist from the U.S. can win $38,000. Athletes from Singapore can make the most for winning an individual event at $792,000.   Christian missionaries sharing Christ & Bibles in Olympic crowds And finally, Evangelicals are sharing the Gospel at the Winter Olympic Games this year. Hundreds of Southern Baptists alongside International Mission Board missionaries are joining the crowds to share Christ and distribute Bibles. Karen Herfurth is in Italy with a group from Mt. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus U.S. sends troops to Nigeria amid ISIS fight The U.S. has deployed a military team to Nigeria as part of a growing effort to assist in counterterrorism operations against Islamic State-linked terrorists. The move marks the first publicly acknowledged presence of American forces on the ground following U.S. airstrikes in Nigeria on Christmas Day, reports The Christian Post. A senior U.S. military commander told Reuters the deployment was carried out in agreement with the Nigerian government. Nigerian Defense Minister Christopher Musa confirmed that U.S. personnel were active in the country. Team USA skiers not proud of America because of Trump (Audio: Olympic theme song) American freestyle skiers are facing intense backlash on social media after comments made about representing the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy amid the Trump administration's recent immigration enforcement operations in the U.S., reports Fox News. Speaking to the media ahead of Friday's opening ceremony, two-time Olympian and Olympic gold medalist Chris Lillis, who's competing in the men's aerials, said, "I feel heartbroken about what's happening in the United States. I'm pretty sure you're referencing I.C.E. and some of the protests and things like that. I think that, as a country, we need to focus on respecting everybody's rights." And first-time Olympian Hunter Hess, who's competing in the men's free ski halfpipe, said, “It brings up mixed emotions to represent the U.S. right now. … There's obviously a lot going on that I'm not the biggest fan of, and I think a lot of people aren't. "I'm representing my friends and family back home … all the things that I believe are good about the U.S. If it aligns with my moral values, I feel like I'm representing it. Just because I'm wearing the flag doesn't mean I represent everything that's going on in the U.S.” The remarks elicited a strong response from Team USA supporters on social media. One wrote, "The anti-ICE, liberal athletes are already insufferable at the Olympics. If you're not proud to represent the red, white, & blue, stay home." Another wrote, "Chris Lillis and Hunter Hess should be sent back home immediately. They have insulted our entire nation on the world stage and should no longer be allowed to represent us." House Speaker Johnson: “Borders and walls are Biblical.” In response to Pope Leo's claim that Trump's deportation efforts are unbiblical, House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana was asked to defend President Trump's deportation of illegal immigrants Biblically. REPORTER: “Pope Leo has cited Matthew 25:35 to critique Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda. How would you respond to Pope Leo in Scripture?” JOHNSON: “Borders and walls are Biblical. From the Old Testament to the New [Testament], God has allowed us to set up our civil societies and have separate nations. Immigration is not something that's frowned upon in Scripture. In fact, it's welcome. We're to welcome the sojourner and love our neighbor as ourself. “When people cite passages out of the Old Testament, they say, well, you're supposed to take care of the sojourner and the neighbor, treat them as yourself, welcome then in. Yes, but that is an admonition to individuals, not to the civil authorities.” Speaker Johnson cited the book of Romans to bolster his point Biblically. JOHNSON: “The civil authorities are given authority under Scripture to maintain order. Romans 13 says that the ‘civil authorities are God's agents of wrath to bring punishment upon the wrongdoer.' And it says, ‘If you do right, you have no fear of the civil authorities.' “But those civil authorities are necessary. It's a calling. It's a calling to maintain order in society. And we have not had that. “When Biden and Harris opened the borders wide for four years, we had as many as 20 million illegals come across the country. And we all know many dangerous people -- hardened criminals, child molesters, rapists, murderers, all the rest, terrorists -- who came into the country. We did not take care of our borders. “Sovereign borders are Biblical and good and right and they're just. It's not because we hate the people on the outside. It's because we love the people on the inside.” Planned Parenthood drops lawsuit trying to get federal funding back Planned Parenthood has thrown in the towel on its efforts to preserve its primary federal funding, voluntarily dismissing its lawsuit against the defunding provision of the Trump administration's signature legislation, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Last July, President Donald Trump signed into law his “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”, a wide-ranging policy package that includes a one-year ban on federal tax dollars going through Medicaid to any that provides abortions for reasons other than rape, incest, or supposed threats to the mother's life.  According to Operation Rescue, 54 abortion mills shut their doors in 2025, 36 of which were Planned Parenthood abortuaries. Planned Parenthood sued, alleging that even though it was not specifically named in the Trump defunding bill, it was effectively the only organization that qualified under the bill's language and that losing that money would cause “devastating” layoffs and location closures. Erik Baptist, an attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, said, “The American people do not want their tax dollars propping up the abortion industry. … We will continue to stand against any attempts by the abortion giant to force Americans to fund dangerous procedures.” Actor Tim Allen ‘amazed' after reading entire Bible And finally, actor Tim Allen recently finished reading through the entire Bible word for word, reports FaithWire.com. On X, he wrote, “Finished the entire Bible. It's been a 13-month, word-by-word, page-by-page, no-skimming journey. Humbled, enlightened and amazed at what I read and what I learned. I will rest and meditate on so much.” Allen has recently been increasingly vocal about his Christian faith journey. He also sat down with fellow comedian Bill Maher for a conversation on Maher's “Club Random.” The “Home Improvement” star had quite a bit to say about the Apostle Paul and the downside of empty philosophy. ALLEN: “Without law, you don't know what sinful is. So, law was basically just to give you guardrails of what the world is. What you're going to find is the cycle of ignorance with philosophy. And that's where I've been in the last 20 years. Philosophy gets run in these circles. It can't explain anything really.” In Colossians 2:8, the Apostle Paul warns, “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, February 9th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). Earlier this week I had the privilege of being in the room while our Supreme Court justices heard the case for defending biblical truth in girls' sports. This was not just one, but two historic legal battles fighting for fairness and safeguarding female athletics from biological male participation. After hearing these brave young women share their stories firsthand, I got to sit down with Alliance Defending Freedom's (ADF) Kate Anderson to talk through how these cases made it to our nation's highest Court, and what the justices' decision could mean for Title IX and gender as defined by law. Together Kate and I discussed the West Virginia and Idaho cases that brought us here, and the bravery of our girls to speak up when they saw injustice. Plus we took a look at the personal story of Adela Cross, the track athlete from West Virginia whose spot was taken by a biological male athlete. Later on in the episode we shifted our focus to the fight for parental rights. As more public schools put in place policies that deceive parents—like those mandating gender transitions be kept secret—we looked at how ADF is fighting to ensure parents, not schools, have the final say in how to raise their children. The cases before the Court this week are not just about isolated incidents in two states, the justices' decision will shape how our girls are able to do what they love—and feel safe doing so—for generations to come. This is not a political issue, it's a Genesis 1 issue, and comes down to the biblical definition of God creating us male and female. Pray for wisdom and discernment as the justices deliberate, and together let's stand fearlessly for what's right.

It's Wednesday, January 14th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Most dangerous countries for Christians: The 2026 Red List Global Christian Relief released its 2026 Red List of the world's most dangerous countries to be a Christian.  The report verified nearly 2,000 Christians were killed between November 2023 and October 2025. The country with the most killings of Christians was Nigeria. The country with the most violence and intimidation against churches was Rwanda. China led with the most arrests and sentences of Christians. Mozambique saw the most displacement of believers. And Mexico had the most abductions of Christians.  Other dangerous countries for Christians included the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Russia, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Psalm 37:14-15 says, “The wicked have drawn the sword and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who are of upright conduct. Their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.” Trump threatens Nigeria with more military strikes Speaking of Nigeria, the country could see more military strikes from the United States if violence against Christians continues. On Christmas Day last month, the U.S. launched deadly strikes in Nigeria against militants linked with the Islamic State.   U.S. President Donald Trump told The New York Times last Thursday, “I'd love to make it a one-time strike. But if they continue to kill Christians it will be a many-time strike.” Listen to President Trump's warning last November. TRUMP: “I'm hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians.” Texas banned tax-funded abortion travel Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton claimed victory last Friday in a case against San Antonio's abortion travel fund. The city established its so-called “Reproductive Justice Fund” last year to support women traveling to other states to kill their unborn babies. However, Texas subsequently passed a law to ban such funding. Attorney General Paxton commented on the case. He said, “I will always do everything in my power to prevent radicals from manipulating the system to murder innocent babies. … San Antonio's unlawful attempt to cover the travel and other expenses for out-of-state abortions has now officially been defeated.” Trump wants to ban institutional investors in single-family homes President Donald Trump is calling for Congress to ban large institutional investors from buying single-family homes. Such investors have acquired thousands of single-family homes since the 2008 financial crisis.  President Trump hopes his ban on institutional investors would make single-family homes more affordable. The median price for an existing home hit a record $435,300 last year. On Truth Social, he wrote, “People live in homes, not corporations.” More immigrants left America than entered in 2025 A report by the Brookings Institute estimates that more immigrants left the U.S. than entered it last year. The report suggests net migration fell by anywhere from 10,000 to 295,000 in 2025. It's the first time in at least 50 years that net migration was negative for America. 2026 is also expected to see negative net migration. Actor Timothy Busfield arrested on child sex abuse charges NewsNation has confirmed that Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield has surrendered to law enforcement after an arrest warrant was issued last week amid allegations of sexual abuse involving minors in New Mexico. According to a criminal complaint, two young actors allege that Busfield, age 68, touched them inappropriately while on set filming the Fox series “The Cleaning Lady” from 2022 to 2024, where Busfield was an Executive Producer. The court documents detail a pattern of grooming, where Busfield would allegedly shower the children with gifts and praise, while also kissing and fondling the boys in a bedroom on set. They were 7 and 8 years old at the time. Record high of U.S. independents A new Gallup survey found a record-high 45 percent of U.S. adults identified as political independents last year. The last time that Americans were evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats was 2005. Since then, identification with Republicans and Democrats has dwindled to 27 percent each.  The rise of political independents comes as younger generations are less likely to identify with a party. However, slightly more Americans still lean Democrat than Republican.  Christian homeless shelter allowed to hire like-minded staff And finally, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled unanimously in favor of Union Gospel Mission last Tuesday. The Christian homeless shelter in Washington state serves anyone but only hires employees who agree with their religious beliefs. A state anti-discrimination law would have required the mission to hire people who did not align with their beliefs. So, the mission challenged the law with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom. Jeremiah Galus, Senior Counsel with the Christian legal group, said, “Yakima Union Gospel Mission exists to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through its homeless shelter, addiction-recovery programs, outreach efforts, meal services, and health clinics. The Ninth Circuit correctly ruled that the First Amendment protects the mission's freedom to hire fellow believers who share that calling.” Hebrews 13:16 says, “But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, January 14th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). We've entered year-end giving season, and you're likely to see a lot of emails in your in-box promoting matching or challenge gifts. What are matching gifts?  How do they differ from challenge gifts?  Are they legitimate fundraising tools, and do they make a difference?  MinistryWatch attempts to briefly answer these questions in this special EXTRA episode.  Here are a few resources mentioned on today's program:  According to the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability:  “Using challenge and matching gifts as a part of your fundraising program can be very effective. As in all fundraising communications, truthfulness is a hallmark (ECFA Standard 7.1) as are appeals that do not create unrealistic donor expectations (ECFA Standard 7.2).”  The data suggest that matching gifts are.  Philanthropy Works said just declaring a matching gift increases giving by 19 percent.  It said a match increases the likelihood that an individual gives by 22 percent. But some Christian organizations report much higher results.  In one recent experiment done by the consulting firm NextAfter with its client Alliance Defending Freedom, a matching gift resulted in a dramatic increase – more than 87 percent — in the effectiveness of its email communications.  (You can dig into the details of that study here.) Note, however, that a similar study done with Museum of the Bible yielded a significantly different result:  an increase in about 50 percent.  (You can read more about that experiment here.)  This result is obviously much lower, but it's important to note that even this very different result indicates that matching gifts make a real difference.

Episode 42: First Choice Women's Resource Centers v. PlatkinFirst Choice Women's Resource Centers v. Platkin, argued before the Supreme Court of the United States on December 2, 2025. Argued by Erin Morrow Hawley, Alliance Defending Freedom, and Vivek Suri, Assistant Solicitor General (on behalf of First Choice Women's Resource Centers), and Sundeep Subramanian Iyer, Chief Counsel to the Attorney General of New Jersey (on behalf of the state of New Jersey).  Case Background, from the Institute for Free Speech case page: First Choice Women's Resource Centers is a Christian medical nonprofit serving pregnant women, new mothers, and fathers. The Attorney General of New Jersey has specifically singled out this organization due to its religious beliefs and pro-life stance. New Jersey thus issued a sweeping and unjustified subpoena, demanding extensive documentation from the nonprofit. This places a heavy burden on the organization, forcing it to allocate its limited resources to comply or face legal consequences. Despite this, the Attorney General has not provided any concrete evidence of wrongdoing to warrant such intrusive measures. Question Presented, from the Supreme Court docket: New Jersey's Attorney General served an investigatory subpoena on First Choice Women's Resource Centers, Inc., a faith-based pregnancy center, demanding that it turn over most of its donors' names. First Choice challenged the Subpoena under 42 U.S.C. 1983 in federal court, and the Attorney General filed a subsequent suit to enforce it in state court. The state court granted the Attorney General's motion to enforce the Subpoena but expressly did not decide First Choice's federal constitutional challenges. The Attorney General then moved in state court to sanction First Choice. Meanwhile, the district court held that First Choice's constitutional claims were not ripe in federal court. The Third Circuit affirmed in a divided per curiam decision. Judge Bibas would have held the action ripe as indistinguishable from. Americans for Prosperity Foundation v. Banta, 594 U.S. 595, 618-19 (2021). But the majority concluded First Choice's claims were not yet ripe because First Choice could litigate its constitutional claims in state court. In doing so, the majority followed the rule of the Fifth Circuit and split from the Ninth Circuit. It did not address the likely loss of a federal forum once the state court rules on the federal constitutional issues. The question presented is: Where the subject of a state investigatory demand has established a reasonably objective chill of its First Amendment rights, is a federal court in a first-filed action deprived of jurisdiction because those rights must be adjudicated in state court?Resources:   Brief for Petitioner First Choice Women's Resource Center Brief for Respondent Matthew Platkin Institute for Free Speech Amicus Brief Supreme Court Docket The Institute for Free Speech promotes and defends the political speech rights to freely speak, assemble, publish, and petition the government guaranteed by the First Amendment. Welcome to Courageous Leadership with Virginia Prodan #Podcast. Topis: How to handle Politics at Thanksgiving dinner - Virginia Prodan    A third of Americans say politics strained their family.   It's hurting each of us, and our country.   16% of Americans say a recent Thanksgiving has been spoiled by political fights. Therefore, 1 in 5 Americans now say none of their friends have different political views.  They totally separated from others with a different political view.  Division - the sign of Socialism in America.  My recommendation to you is go to Thanksgiving dinner - and bring together people who have a different view or voted differently.  Thanksgiving  is — a holiday that most Americans celebrate, often with family and friends.   No matter what happened in the past, we need to be with family and friends on Thanksgiving.   As Americans we could use quality time together. We need to find ways to create unity.  But how?  In this episode Virginia shares the 3 ways we can do it.  Virginia Prodan  is a freedom fighter and believes that we as Americans can be united.   Virginia fought and won against Socialism in Romania.  She is fighting for freedom and unity here in America - as a International KeyNote Speaker; Author at Tyndale House Publishers; Allied Attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom; Host of Courageous Leadership with  Virginia Prodan  #Podcast.     Virginia helps you to be united as Americans and fight against #Socialism - not against each other.  Virginia shares why being united is important in America today; why our unity will have long lasting implications. It's Wednesday, November 19th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Christians faced 2,211 hate crimes in Europe last year Christians and churches are facing increased attacks in Europe. The Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe released their latest report on Monday.  Christians faced 2,211 hate crimes across the continent last year. The number is slightly down from 2023, but last year saw a rise in violent crimes like physical attacks and arson.  The countries with highest number of anti-Christian incidents were France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Austria. 189 university evangelists gathered in Spain The Fellowship of Evangelists in the Universities of Europe held their 17th annual meeting in Spain recently. Evangelical Focus reports 189 university evangelists from 39 countries attended the conference. Evangelists are committed to the public proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the universities of Europe.  The article noted, “A strong theme of the conference was the renewed spiritual openness emerging across the continent, particularly among young people.” Romans 10:15 says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” Trump lifted tariffs on 200 food products In the United States, President Donald Trump lifted tariffs on over 200 food products last Friday. The products include coffee, beef, bananas, and orange juice.  The move comes as Americans face rising grocery prices. Listen to comments from President Trump aboard Air Force One.  TRUMP: “For the most part, the foods, when we cut back a little bit on those tariffs, will get the price down. But they're not competitive in this country, like tomatoes and bananas and things we don't make in this country. So, there's no protection of our industries or our food products.” President Trump also suggested sending $2,000 tariff rebate checks to most Americans next year. House to release Epstein Files without redacting perpetrators' names The House of Representatives, in a near-unanimous vote, passed a bill on November 18 that would require the Department of Justice to release more files surrounding the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, reports The Epoch Times. The final tally was 427–1. Republican Congressman Clay Higgins of Louisiana was the sole lawmaker who voted against the measure. Republican Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota said he will take up the bill. The Epstein Files Transparency Act, introduced by Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna of California and co-sponsored by Republican Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky, would order the Department of Justice to release “in a searchable and downloadable format all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials” tied to Epstein no later than 30 days following the enactment of the bill. The legislation would prohibit the Justice Department from withholding, delaying, or redacting records for reputational and political reasons. Oregon to pay 2 teachers $650,000 over their objection to biological boys entering female bathrooms A school district in Oregon recently agreed to a $650,000 settlement for wrongfully terminating two teachers who opposed transgender ideology.  Back in 2021, Grants Pass School District terminated two teachers named Rachel Sager and Katie Medart. The two had voiced objections to allowing biological boys to enter female bathrooms and locker rooms.  Alliance Defending Freedom represented the teachers in the case.  Attorney Mathew Hoffmann said, “Teachers don't give up their First Amendment rights when they set foot on school property. Public schools can't retaliate against speech simply because they disagree with what's said.” Deaths by in vitro fertilization surpass abortion deaths Live Action reports the number of lives lost to in vitro fertilization now surpasses those lost to abortion. In 2023, 3.8 million embryos were created through in vitro fertilization. Of those, 1.9 million embryos died or were deliberately killed. Another 1.7 million embryos were either miscarried, destroyed, donated to researchers, released for embryo adoption, or frozen indefinitely. Only 95,860 babies were born through the process. In comparison, there were one million abortions in the U.S. in 2023. Live Action noted, “In vitro fertilization is not about creating life but about controlling it, determining which lives are accepted as valuable and worthy and which are automatically destroyed for being deemed ‘subpar'.” Only 49% of Americans say religion important to daily lives A new report from Gallup found that the U.S. is experiencing one of the largest drops in religiosity in the world. Forty-nine percent of U.S. adults say religion is an important part of their daily lives today, down from 66% in 2015. The only countries with greater drops in religiosity, over a 10-year period, are Greece, Italy, Poland, Chile, and Turkey. However, Americans still have medium-high levels of Christian identification. The report noted, “The U.S. increasingly stands as an outlier: less religious than much of the world, but still more devout than most of its economic peers.” Revelation 3:15-16 warns, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Last penny was just minted last week And finally, the United States Mint struck its final penny last Wednesday. The penny was authorized under the Coinage Act of 1792. At the time, a penny could purchase items like a biscuit, a candle, or a piece of candy. Not anymore. In fact, it costs nearly four cents to make a penny now.  The U.S. Mint has struck the penny in its current form since 1909, featuring the motto, “In God We Trust.” U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach struck the final penny last week. He said, “God bless America, and we're going to save the taxpayers $56 million.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, November 19th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). It's Thursday, November 13th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Russia bans three Baptist churches Forum 18 reports that Russia continues to crack down on Protestant churches. Russian courts banned three Baptist churches last month for not registering with the government. The congregations are part of the Council of Churches Baptist communities. The group has seen at least 10 of its churches banned. These bans have increased over the last year. Authorities often accuse such churches of “unlawful missionary activity.” However, the Baptist churches continue to meet despite the prohibitions and potential fines. When told not to teach in the name of Jesus, the Apostles said in Acts 5:29, “We ought to obey God rather than men.” European countries upset with Russia's drones European countries are investing in anti-drone systems as Russia continues to fly drones into their regions. Russia is testing NATO borders, flying drones as far as Germany, Denmark, and Belgium. Countries that border Russia, like Lithuania, are building public defense programs to prepare for any crisis. Listen to comments made to CBN News by Vice President Tomas Godliauskas of Lithuania's National Defense. GODLIAUSKAS: “We develop kind of a strategy, how we are preparing our citizens militarily and how we're preparing all the rest of the citizens to build the resilience of our population.” UPS plane crashed in Kentucky, killing 3 aboard and 11 on ground In the United States, a UPS flight tragically crashed in Louisville, Kentucky on Tuesday evening last week. The plane crashed just after takeoff, leaving a trail of destruction through businesses and roads. The incident killed the three UPS crew members on board as well as 11 more people.  UPS said in a statement, “Words can't express the sorrow we feel over the heartbreaking Flight 2976 accident. . . . We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of our colleagues, and to the loved ones of those in the Louisville community.” Supreme Court to hear transgender sports case The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in cases involving transgender sports next year. The cases come from Idaho and West Virginia. In 2020, Idaho became the first state to require people to compete in sports according to their biological sex. West Virginia passed a similar law in 2021.  Lower courts blocked the laws. The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the cases by next June. Listen to comments made to CBN News by Jonathan Scruggs with Alliance Defending Freedom. SCRUGGS: “Men are coming into women's sports and taking away podium slots and scholarships. “Just in the West Virginia case alone, since the male athlete there started participating, he's taken away over 400 slots of women and displaced girls, 1,100 times.” International Olympic Committee likely to ban transgenders In a related story, BBC Sport reports the International Olympic Committee is likely to ban transgenders next year. The decision would prohibit men, pretending to be women, from competing in women's categories. The ban would likely take effect before the 2028 Summer Olympics to be held in Los Angeles, California.  13th county in America bans abortion Dickens County, Texas is now the 13th county in the nation to outlaw abortion. County leaders voted on Monday in favor of passing a Sanctuary County for the Unborn Ordinance. Dickens County has a population of 1,725 people. And it is the eleventh county in Texas to outlaw abortion. Augustine's influence felt today And finally, today is the birthday of Augustine of Hippo!  The renowned Christian theologian was born on November 13, A.D. 354 in what is modern-day Algeria, Africa.  Augustine's early life was marred by prodigal living. His mother faithfully prayed for him for years before his eventual conversion in his 30s. This took place after he providentially encountered Romans 13:13-14. The verses say, “Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in … drunkenness … and sensuality. … But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”  Augustine would go on to become Bishop of Hippo, a Roman province in North Africa. An able scholar, he turned his mind to the theological battles of his day, producing Christian classics like Confessions and The City of God.  Augustine's life and work would have a dominating influence on Western civilization. The Protestant Reformers, in particular, would quote him extensively in their efforts to reform the church over a thousand years later. Today's podcast features the first part of a recent webinar produced on September 24, 2025, titled: "A New Era for Banking: What President Trump's Debanking Executive Order and Related State Laws Mean for Financial Institutions, Government, and Banking Customers." In Part 1, we discuss the following topics: 1.     History of Debanking, including: o   Operation Chokepoint: An initiative by federal prudential banking regulators during the Obama administration aimed at discouraging banks supervised by them from providing services to companies engaged in payday lending. o   OCC Final Regulation on Debanking: Issued by Acting Comptroller Brian Brooks toward the end of President Trump's first term, this regulation applied only to the largest banks in the country. It was sent to the Federal Register but never published and, therefore, never became effective. 2.     Elements and Scope of the Debanking Executive Order 3.     Statutory Authority (or Lack Thereof) of the Executive Order, which was largely based on the unfairness prongs of UDAAP and UDAP, even though a federal district court in Alabama held a few years ago that such unfairness prongs do not cover discrimination. Our presenters, who hold diverse views on the wisdom of the Executive Order, are: ·        Jason Mikula Founder and Publisher, Fintech Business Weekly Jason Mikula is an independent fintech and banking advisor, consultant, and investor. He also publishes Fintech Business Weekly, a newsletter analyzing trends in banking and fintech. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University Todd Phillips is an assistant professor of law at Georgia State University. He has led efforts to combat ESG and what he considers "woke capitalism," including launching the Consumers First campaign. He supports the Executive Order. ·        Graham Steele Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions, U.S. Department of the Treasury Graham Steele serves as the Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The conservative legal activists at Alliance Defending Freedom are taking another Colorado case to the Supreme Court this week. Will conversion therapy for minors — which has been illegal in this state since 2019 — be reconsidered as a free speech issue? Then, “gonzo journalist” and longtime Woody Creek resident Hunter S. Thompson's widow is asking the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to reopen the case of his death in 2005, which was ruled a suicide, but why she's requesting the probe remains murky. Host Bree Davies and producer Paul Karolyi dive into these stories plus new information on Pete's University Park Cafe, the Avs' questionable allegiance, and a listener question about a Denverite on “Survivor.” Paul mentioned Hunter S. Thompson's famous Rolling Stone article “The Battle of Aspen.” After we recorded this episode, Cale Makar answered a reporter's question about the view of him wearing an LA Rams uniform.  For even more news from around the city, subscribe to our morning newsletter Hey Denver at denver.citycast.fm.
