Send us Fan MailEric Camp has been doing standup in the Binghamton, N.Y., area for two years. He played in punk bands growing up and made fun of the other bands and scene kids from the stage. He started to go to local comedy shows and attended the open mics for about a year as an audience member before taking the stage. The study time has paid off because he's one of the hardest-working comedians in the area. He's also a Thomas J. Watson Elementary School graduate, just like Mike Peters. Send us Fan MailOn this episode, I sit down with Jules Peters, the wife of the front man of The Alarm, the late Mike Peters. We discuss their incredible love affair, his long battle with cancer, The Alarm's new album, Transformation, and more.****"Mike lived a life of beauty and never gave up right to the very end,” says Jules Peters, bandmate and wife of the late Mike Peters of THE ALARM who passed away on April 29, 2025. Following a fearlessly valiant 31-year battle with cancer, his monumental legacy continues with the release of TRANSFORMATION on May 29, 2026 on Twenty First Century Recordings/Virgin Music Group. Its latest single, “Live Today” premieres now via Consequence.Filmed just days before Mike underwent the innovative CAR-T treatment with hopes of eradicating Richter's Syndrome, an aggressive form of lymphoma, “Live Today” is Mike's final video. “As the sun rose, watching Mike perform this song with so much optimism and hope will live with me forever,” said Jules as she looks back. “It was a bittersweet day for me as we filmed this incredible joyous film on the beach in the North of England. After filming concluded, we climbed onto the tour bus and drove straight to the Christie Hospital in Manchester, U.K.. We were full of determination that the pioneering CAR-T would save Mike's life but, at the same time, I was personally terrified as I couldn't shake off a feeling that cancer had finally caught up with us both.”Diagnosed with lymphoma in 1995 and later with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, Peters refused to let his illness silence him. Instead, he turned his fight into a mission to help others.Alongside his wife Jules, he co-founded Love Hope Strength, a music-driven cancer charity that revolutionized awareness and action around stem cell donation that continues beyond his passing. Through its innovative “Get On The List” campaigns—often hosted at rock concerts and even atop mountains—the charity has added over 400,000 people to the global stem cell registry and helped secure thousands of potential life-saving matches for patients worldwide. While this may seem like the final chapter for The Alarm, Transformation promises that the legacy of The Alarm will transform into something larger. While Mike has gone out in a blaze of glory, his love, hope and strength continues on. Echoing the title of the new single, Jules concludes, “Mike and the spirit of The Alarm will ‘Live Today,' forever more. I invite you all to blast Transformation out loud. Imagine Mike in the room with you. Transformation is his battle cry, his resilient love of life. Right to the very end, Mike believed that he was going to live, to be totally free. My last memory is driving him open top along the North Wales coast road, playing Transformation at maximum volume. He was so happy. So full of life. Playing his air drums, bass guitar, already imagining himself on his next world tour. So keep that positive spirit moving forwards. Imagine him as you all knew him best, striding out on to that stage, changing lives one concert at a time. This is an album of hope and a passionate celebration of a life well lived. Please do not be sad. Mike wouldn't want that. He was so proud of this album and had the best time recording it during the last six months of his life. Blast it out loud like Mike did. Play along to the track list and most of all, be happy that we all had Mike in our lives and continue to do so. The music of Mike and The Alarm will always keep us strong”.****If you would like to contact the show Dauna@betertopodcast.comFollow us on Social MediaYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX0ETs2wpOHbCuhUNr0XFTw?view_as=subscriberInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomSupport the podcast here: https://www.patreon.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedom©2026 Better To...Podcast with D. It's a VERY special bonus episode of Baxie's Musical Podcast with Jules Peters—the wife of the late Mike Peter's from The Alarm. This is an incredibly powerful interview in which Jules talks about Mike's incredible legacy followed a 31-year battle with leukemia. Jules not only shares the story about his final days but also about the recording of his final album with The Alarm. The record, which is entitled “Transformation” is being released on May 29th. And it's absolutely astonishing. Having had the chance to speak with Mike in March of 2023 it was a true honor to speak with Jules about how she's keeping his amazing spirit alive. There´s Going To Be The Devil To Pay). (To Hell With The Devil 1986). El diseño sonoro y la realización técnica de estos programas es obra de Daniel Panduro.

Most leaders are carrying patterns they know need to change. They see the gap. They want the reset. Then Monday shows up, the old habits walk right back in dressed as obligation, and the door gets opened anyway. In this episode of The Executive Commute, Jayson Krause synthesizes three conversations he hasn't been able to stop thinking about, with Dr. Nick Egan, Dr. Mike Peters, and Morgan Alexander, and builds them into one question worth sitting with: what part of your leadership needs to die, and are you actually willing to leave it dead? In this episode: - Why emotional reactivity is a gamble, not a leadership strategy -The question that works better than "how do I want to show up?" when you're already triggered -Why confidence built on competence eventually cracks -The three words a CEO said that cracked his room wide open -The values forensics test: what your calendar and bank statements reveal about what you actually value -Why chasing values you don't hold leaves your real ones sitting unplayed -What the "powerful vortex" is and why leaders keep walking back into it Follow Jayson Krause YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JaysonKrauseLeadership LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jayson-krause

Most leaders say values matter. But very few have actually identified their own. In this episode of The Executive Commute, Jayson Krause sits down with leadership coach Dr. Mike Peters to unpack what values really are, why leaders misunderstand them, and how unclear values lead to drift in leadership and organizations. Dr. Peters draws on 38 years of leadership experience in the Canadian Armed Forces to explain why strong values simplify decision making and why many organizations get values wrong. In this episode: • Why values are not the same as preferences • How leaders drift when their values are unclear • The difference between personal values and organizational values • Why strong values make decision-making easier • The mistake many organizations make when defining values You can believe honesty and transparency are important. But if you are not willing to pay the cost of living them, they are not values, they are beliefs. In this clip from The Executive Commute, Jayson Krause and Dr. Mike Peters explain the difference between values you admire and values you actually live by. #leadership #values #leadershipdevelopment

Welcome back to 1987!The decade of decadence, extravagance, elegance and other words that end in -nce was powering its way towards the later end of its cultural tenure. And whilst there is no doubt that perceived wisdom (or, the internet as we now call it) would tell us that 1987 was the year of big hair, big shoulder pads, and big mobile phones, those of that were there can tell a different story too. The year of POP aspiration was also one of smoke and mirrors. The big suits and big statements across our TV and radio were often wonderfully deceptive. Whilst the music industry had loadsamoney to spend, those acts climbing the charts and filling the pages of Smash Hits were doing so often in the most homemade and, frankly subversive way possible. And in doing so, the genres were flowing, the hits were coming and our pop landscape was as colourful and diversive as we could possibly have wished for.Step forward then the leading compilation series (other slightly inferior ones were OBVIOUSLY available) to deliver its tenth volume. I know, double figures!!Now, That's What I Call Music 10 shines brightly with its neon signage casting a glittering pop beacon over the wasteland of…..(enough with the imagery, get to the songs, Ed!)Step forward the utterly imperial Pet Shop Boys, the incredibly sophisti-poptastic Curiosity Killed The Cat, the completely covered in plaster-of-Paris Hue and Cry and many other to lead the hits-filled charge into Autumn ‘87. And joining me to provide her very own unique view of this pop snapshot is TV and radio presenter Sue Charles.Join us as we find out about Sue's journey across Radio1 AND 2, from 'Newsbeat' and 'Steve Wright in the Afternoon' to reporting behind the scenes at TOTP and to becoming one of the most familiar voices and faces across BBC Wales. And of course, dive deep back into the pop culture of 1987 that includes the The Style Council, Casey Kasem, Andy Warhol, Shrewsbury(!), Sir William of Idol, Cliff, claymation Jazz, the glorious return of Squeeze and some genuine love for one of Wales' musical legends Mike Peters. All of this plus some amazing missing in action ‘87 stars and not a single mention of Michael Fish! The Schweinfurt RaidsWith Mike Peters Never Mind the Dambusters – Series 4 Presented by Jane Gulliford Lowes and James JefferiesIn this episode, Jane Gulliford Lowes and James Jefferies turn their attention to the USAAF bombing raids on Schweinfurt, among the most dramatic, costly, and consequential operations of the Allied strategic air campaign in 1943.Schweinfurt was a vital centre of Germany's ball-bearing industry, making it a high-priority target for the US Eighth Air Force. The daylight raids launched against it — most notably the Schweinfurt–Regensburg mission of 17 August 1943 — tested American doctrines of daylight precision bombing to their limits and had far-reaching implications for the conduct of the air war.The hosts are joined by Mike Peters, co-host of the Mighty Eighth Podcast, who brings deep knowledge of the USAAF and its aircrews to the discussion.Together, they explore:Why Schweinfurt was considered so critical to the German war economyUSAAF daylight bombing doctrine and its underlying assumptionsHow the Schweinfurt–Regensburg mission unfoldedThe combat conditions faced by American bomber crewsAircraft and aircrew losses, and their impact on strategy and moraleThe legacy of Schweinfurt in American memory and air power historyThis episode places the Schweinfurt raids within their broader strategic and human context, highlighting both the ambition of USAAF doctrine and the heavy price paid by the men who flew these missions.About the GuestMike Peters is the co-host of the Mighty Eighth Podcast, a show dedicated to the people, aircraft, and operations of the US Eighth Air Force during the Second World War.You can find the Mighty Eighth Podcast here:

Send us a textLuca Spinoso started doing stand-up a couple years ago in Harford County, Md., a little bit north of Baltimore. He moved to Florida as a kid and came back to Maryland when he was 19. He and his buddies went to an open mic one night and they signed him up. Since then, he's joined a group of comedians called The Barrel Boys and they've been pushing each other. He's part of the Harford County Comedy Festival, which starts on Monday, Feb. 9 and goes through Valentine's Day. Also, he's done meth accidentally and gotten stabbed. Send us a textChris Scopo grew up in Queens as the son of a Mets fan. He really had no choice. He started rooting for the Mets a couple years after they won the World Series in 1986 and is still waiting to celebrate. They are ruining his life. But he's making the most of it. He's been doing stand-up in New York City since 2010 and works with Robert Kelly and Andrew Shultz, among others. He just started a new show, Working Out with Comics, where he invites comedians to work out in the gym in the basement of his building in Queens. In this episode of Grumpy Old Geeks—Mad Hatter edition—we kick things off with a refresher on Staingate and the joys of delamination (spoiler: it's not a spa treatment). Then we dive into the U.S. government's latest tech innovation: buying up domains that sound like QAnon Mad Libs in support of Trump's meme coin. Meanwhile, DOGE decided to hand the steering wheel of housing regulations to a college kid and an AI. What could possibly go wrong? Not to be outdone, Elon shows up to a Trump meeting wearing two hats—one for each of his unchecked egos—and MoviePass launches a crypto-tied box office fantasy league, because we've clearly learned nothing. In the actual news, 4chan has risen from the dead like a less hygienic Lazarus, but it's still broken (shocker). Worldcoin's eyeball-scanning overlords are now teaming up with Tinder and Visa—romance and capitalism, together at last. Bitcoin mining is officially more pointless than Beanie Babies, and Microsoft says AI now writes 30% of its code—explains a lot, really. Meta somehow manages to forecast $1.4 trillion in AI revenue while also letting its bots get horny with minors. Meanwhile, Pinterest suddenly pretends to care about AI slop (while being the biggest copyright vampire online), and ChatGPT gets less clingy after OpenAI dials back its update that made it sound like your overly supportive aunt. Plus: more AI lies, shady benchmarks, pillow guy legal drama, and a reminder that North Korean remote workers also hate awkward small talk.We cool off with a Media Candy binge: Schmactors Season 2 is here, Andor returns, Conclave confuses us in the best way, and Ryan Coogler is giving X-Files a reboot we probably don't deserve. Jeremy Renner turns down Disney's lowball Hawkeye offer (respect), and musically we vibe with Maria Somerville and Anka Wolbert's latest releases. In Apps & Doodads, Apple and Epic are back in court, Apple Arcade keeps feeding us Mahjong, and Meta's Ray-Bans go full Stasi. Lyft wants your boomer parents off the road, and Google is sunsetting old Nest thermostats like it's Logan's Run for smart homes. Finally, we peek At the Library with Jason Pargin's black box paranoia, Scalzi's lunar love story, and a massive stack of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror.
