It wasn't until he was in Washington, D.C., in 2013 that it stuck. He and his family are in Portland, Maine, now and he's loving it. Turner Sparks started playing in punk and ska bands when he was a kid and found stand-up back in 2009 when he was working in China. He opened a comedy club, then a Mister Softee business and both flourished until the government had other plans. Drew Brooks has been working all over the Harrisburg, Pa., stand-up scene over the last three years. He got into long-form improv comedy when he was in high school and spent 10 years before trying something more competitive. After two false starts and a couple Zoom shows, Brooks has established himself in the scene.
