Steve Hartshorn, National Chair of the PFEW, discusses the difficulties involved with policing right now amid a lack of public trust and explains what could happen next if their demands aren't met. In S3E4, I give my thoughts on the recent article published by the Police Federation about 'worryingly low promotion success rates down to a lack of learning time during work'. They point out how around only 1 in 6 of their survey respondents were successful in promotion last year, demonstrating how brutally.competitive promotion processes are. The key angle the PFEW take is protected learning time, especially for the exam (which you'll find I've blogged on before). But the real competition begins when competing with other officers for substantive positions. I discuss the ins and outs of this article, the ramifications on promotion processes across the country, and how you can better navigate the minefield. I also explore what's on the horizon and recent changes by the College of Policing; for example, consider the fact they're already mooting a new police promotion framework for officers within the Federated ranks, to replace NPPF, provisionally called the Sergeant and Inspector Promotion Process (SIPP). It's good to see the Fed now taking an interest in the professional aspirations and leadership CPD of their members. As always, I offer an open invite to any Federation to provide entirely FREE promotion and leadership support seminars for their members, either locally or at the extensive national conference facilities. Just get in touch to arrange. As a coach/mentor supporting police promotion candidates across the UK and beyond, I aim to provide valuable and meaningful insights to help you succeed in promotion; especially those aspiring to Sergeant, Inspector and Chief Inspector. I hope you find this podcast helpful leadership CPD. Please 'pass the ladder down' and share with colleagues to support their leadership development too. As always, I welcome your thoughts/feedback. Hello my lovely co-creators on Earth! Are you ready to start your October with a extremely deep diving episode where you will be getting to the core of our existence with me? This has definitely turned out as a episode where I will be coming back and listening to over and over myself as well! Because the insights are sooooooo good. Pfew!I start with explaining the frequency of Divine Love. The frequency of Divine Love is the frequency of harmony and perfection. Where everything is whole and complete. There is where All-ness lies. This Divine All-ness is everywhere in eternity, beyond space and time. In this dimension we are connected to The Divine we are each one little point of awareness of this Divine Perfection. This three dimensional world could be seen as a projection of experiencing a reality that consists of more frequencies than Divine Love (the distortions as explained by the Law of One). ❈We grow up we go through experiences. These experiences are all projections that we could call distortions. We project these realities, experience, interact and learn and grow because of them until the day we die. We go through life experiencing different frequency realities, when in our essence we are Divine Love. Staying in lower vibrational frequency realities is possible but it is further away from our natural state. ❈Because we are here experiencing these distortions with their purpose as well. We grow, learn and experience manifestations that we like and don't like. It doesn't mean that these distortions are mistakes, it means that they are part of our learning process here in this reality. But the moment we decide to heal we can always at any time return and tune into this Source Energy to manifest ourselves as perfect creations of Divine again. ❈Tune into this episode to discover how the frequency of Source is one of Divine Perfection and Harmony and therefore is healing all distortions that manifest in this reality that we perceive as anything but perfection. Anything that is capable of bringing back harmony in our lives is the manifestation of the frequency of Divine Love. Returning to Divine Source Energy heals everything that we suffer from. All distortions we can perceive as depression or illnesses are manifested because of being out of alignment with this Source Energy. ❈Please do also send me all of your questions and requests for topics you want to hear me speak more in depth about! Supporting members through difficult times is one of the main reasons the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) exists. More often than not, those difficult times stem from unfounded conduct or performance complaints. National Chair John Apter, Conduct and Performance Lead Phill Matthews, and broadcaster Ian Collins shine a light on PFEW’s work in this area and offer advice to members who find themselves under investigation. This episode also covers our input on new discipline regulations, our work with the Independent Office for Police Conduct to reduce the length of investigations, and moving the police service towards a performance and learning culture. We also take questions from members on police funding and industrial rights for police officers. Members are invited to put forward their questions for discussion I future episodes via twitter @PFEW_HQ using #AskFed or email communications@polfed.org – so please do get involved. Holy crapoli, this episode is absolutely bonkers. We're not even sure how to really explain this one. We start off talking about Amazon Prime's new series Jack Ryan, but then we sort of start talking about all of the Tom Clancy "Jack Ryan" movies, and then Jeremy and Bill start talking about Tom Clancy books while Nick enjoys the ride. THEN, we all talk about the new Sony (not MCU) movie, Venom even though none of us have seen it. And THEN, for some reason, Jeremy and Bill start talking about the Cubs dismal performance in the 2018 Wild Card game. It's such a crazy run off of the rails, even Jeremy can't believe where the conversation went. Pfew. I need a breather after that.  Like the podcast? (Who wouldn't) Rate us on Apple Podcasts.
