Today's Passage and Prayer: Colossians 1: 9-14 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.NOTES & LINKS:21 Days of Prayer & Fasting WebsiteSubscribe to the 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting NewsletterPDF Guide to Prayer & FastingAs Part of the 21 Days, we are committing to 24/7 prayer during this time. Together we discuss how in continual prayer (connection/focus with Jesus), we can be prepared to make the most of every opportunity with those around us.

Colossians - Walking in Christ Speech in the New Creation: Devoted to Prayer - Colossians 4:2-5
The prayers of the Bible are always relevant and we should always be praying them. In this one, we see that the knowledge of God's will is for the purpose of living for God's pleasure. Pleasing God is bearing fruit in good works, enduring by his strength, and giving thanks for his grace. When we pray for this we can be sure the Lord will answer us. When we pursue this, we can be sure he will grant it. Let us pray, and pursue, for the glory of God. Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. One of the ways that we pursue this mission is by gathering each Sunday for corporate worship, prayer, and biblical teaching. The corporate nature of this gathering is both edifying to the believer and a witness of God's grace to the world. Sermon speaker is Scott Patty unless otherwise noted.

This message is from our Colossians series. As one of the most Christ-centered books in the Bible, Colossians highlights and celebrates the supremacy of Christ. Paul wrote Colossians to combat a strange mix of false teachings threatening the church, and asserts Christ as preeminent over all things, including the demonic powers behind these teachings. In addition, Paul shows the practical response of the believer to Christ's supremacy in all of life, both personal and public.Crosspoint City is one church in multiple locations and we exist to relentlessly pursue those far from God to help them know and follow Jesus. The Apostle Paul prays for the local church in Colossae and provides a model for us to pray for our church (to grow). Pray for your church to grow full of wisdom (1:9)Pray for your church to grow fruitful in works (1:10)Pray for your church to grow fortified for the walk (1:11-12)
What should characterize the Christian prayer life? Steadfastness, watchfulness, and thanksgiving.

It's common to share a prayer request with someone and to let someone know that we will pray for them. However, we rarely let others know exactly what it is we have prayed for and why. In Colossians 1:9–14, not only do we learn what Paul prays about for the Christians in Colossae, but we also learn what we should prioritise in prayer.

In this episode, we will be focusing on our important duties towards Jesus and the Body of Christ. Let's get started; Our Responsibilities towards Jesus 1. Consider the Commitment : Jesus emphasized in Luke 14;28 how crucial it is to understand the level of dedication required to follow Him. This means being fully prepared for any challenges that may come our way on this journey. 2. Prioritize Him Above All: Luke 14;26 highlights the importance of placing Jesus above all other relationships. It's not about harboring hatred, but rather about showing unwavering devotion that surpasses any other bond. 3. Daily Self Transformation: In Luke 14;27, Jesus calls us to let go of our selfish desires each day and replace them with obedience to His teachings. Our Responsibilities towards the Body of Christ; 1. Nurture Relationships: As mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 5;11, your role within the church involves fostering meaningful and life-giving connections with others. Invest in building a sense of community and unity. 2. Foster Worship and Prayer: Colossians 3;16 reminds us to create an atmosphere within the church where worship and prayer flourish, thus strengthening our faith and deepening our connection with one another. 3. Serve Generously: In line with 1 Peter 4;10, we are encouraged to serve one another generously by utilizing our unique gifts, resources and abilities—thereby blessing others along the way. 4. Spread the message of Jesus: The significance of passionately sharing the Good News, as witnessed in the Early Church, is emphasized in Mark 16;15. 5.Nurture discipleship: Matthew 28;18 19 presents the Great Commission, urging us to embrace our role as disciples who actively contribute to the spiritual growth of others. These duties are not burdensome but rather pathways that lead to a purposeful and meaningful life. Let's wholeheartedly embrace these responsibilities to honor Jesus and cultivate a vibrant church community. If you prayed the prayer of salvation we want to hear from you! email us at info@youronechurch.com
Galatians is one of the most popular Bible studies in history because Paul waxes philosophical, but at the same time it's one of his most clear and concise letters. Paul doesn't mince words and he gives one of the clearest view of our freedom from sin and the gospel message in his letter to the dear children of the faith in what we now know as central Turkey.A much more positive and aspirational book, Colossians is Paul's letter to another church in modern-day Turkey. He shares with them the hope of the good news of Jesus and warns them to stay far away from the trappings of sin. This is a great way to round out our study—with the great hope of the gospel.-----------LINKS----------Support 10WB on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/10weekbibleThe 10 Week Bible - http://www.10WeekBible.comTwitter: @DarrenHibbs - https://twitter.com/DarrenHibbsSign up for my newsletter - http://www.darrenhibbs.comGet a copy of the 10 Week Bible Study today - https://www.amazon.com/Darren-Hibbs/e/B00B4I47CE/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl2&tag=darrenhcom0a-20&linkId=401f3d79974c70929517936977e32df9My other YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChUU0XHSHuhSyN8qk-7efYgSupport the show
