In this week's message Pastor Samuel talks about the importance of casting our cares on God. He talks about giving God our burdens and not just praying about them and then picking them right back up. Pastor Samuel also talks about how there is a element of faith when it comes to praying, and we walk by faith not by sight.

In this week's message Samuel Vander Klok talks about how God has given us all the ability to call on his name and to have authority and be healed. He talks not just getting carried away and praying the same prayer as someone else, not everyone prays the same words as everyone else. He encourages us to look to scripture when we pray, and make sure that the things we are speaking in our lives line up with scripture, and that we are speaking them effectively and with authority.

The Book of Nehemiah tells the story of the Israelites rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. But before we get to the action, we see Nehemiah's heart and his relationship with God through his prayer. He's a man who knows how to talk to a king, but more importantly, he knows how to talk to God. His prayer is a model for us, showing us how to approach God with reverence, humility, and a deep understanding of our need for Him. As we examine Nehemiah's prayer, we see that it's not just a list of requests, but a conversation with God: He starts by giving God glory, acknowledging His greatness and power. He then brings himself lower, recognizing his own sin and the sin of his people. He reminds God of His promises and asks for mercy, not just for himself, but for his people. He brings his request to God His prayer follows the same pattern as other prayers in Scripture, including many of the Psalms and the Our Father prayer. God invites you to come to Him with every need—big or small. But in today's MY Devotional, Dr. Michael Youssef challenges believers to move beyond “small” prayers that stay centered on comfort and into big prayers that seek God's renown, praise, and honor among the nations (Jeremiah 33:9). Dr. Youssef clarifies what makes these prayers powerful: they rise from hearts truly devoted to God—hearts that want Christ to be magnified, nonbelievers transformed, and the work of His Kingdom advanced. What makes “the prayer of a righteous person” so effective? Dr. Michael Youssef points to Daniel's plea in Daniel 9:4–19 as a clear model for believers today—and then highlights the key components you can practice immediately. First, start with praise. Daniel doesn't rush into requests; he begins by magnifying God as “great and awesome,” faithful to His covenant of love (Daniel 9:4). Prayer isn't merely a tool to get what we want—it's fellowship with God, cultivating an intimate relationship through adoration and thanksgiving. Second, confess your sins. Daniel doesn't minimize Israel's guilt or make excuses. He owns it plainly: “we have sinned and done wrong… we have turned away” (Daniel 9:5). Dr. Youssef reminds us that honest confession isn't self-condemnation—it's God's pathway to restore us to the fullness of right relationship with Him.
