This sermon explores how the early church was anchored in the apostles' teaching—not for information alone, but for transformation—and calls us to be a Scripture-shaped community grounded in the voice of the Risen King. Robin Gough June 22, 2025 For more information, visit us at fxcc.org.
https://www.maynardvillefellowship.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Matthew-23_13-36-The-Covenantal-Implications-of-the-Seven-Woes.mp3 We hear it all the time from warmongering politicians: “God will bless those who bless Israel, and curse those who curse Israel.” They say it with conviction—rarely with context—and insist it's self-evident, even axiomatic. But what if I told you that Jesus cursed Israel? Cursed them to the point that He took the Kingdom from them and gave it to a new people, a people who would bear its fruit. What if I told you that the “Israel of God” isn't a modern political state, but a New Covenant community, gathered around the Risen King? It's not a hot take. It's Bible—every word of it. In this sermon, Pastor Matt walks through the covenantal logic behind Jesus' seven woes on the Scribes and Pharisees, and shows how rightly understanding these judgments delivers a fatal blow to the modern cult of Zionism.
The love of Christ controls us—New-Covenant saints gripped by the Spirit see that "one has died for all," so we no longer live for ourselves but press on in Spirit-empowered service, certain the Risen King will soon return.

Happy June and I hope everyone is looking forward to lazy, hazy days of summer...marveling once again at our Creator's immense power, majesty, timing, and grace! Today's episode is focused on our "Fathers;" the men who have helped shape our lives and their importance in our lives. We'll also share a little history about Juneteenth and share an intimate moment of reflection on my family's upcoming celebration! In all I say and do, my prayer is that God is glorified, and we take a step closer in our relationship with Him as we celebrate the Risen King, Jesus!
Psalm 72 unveils the majesty of Christ our King, the Righteous Judge, the Merciful Savior, and the Eternal Sovereign whose reign knows no bounds. In this stirring sermon, we trace the progression of redemptive history from the cry of the Suffering Servant in Psalm 22 to the universal dominion of the Risen King in Psalm 72. Christ rules in righteousness, delivers the needy, and crushes every oppressor. His reign is not distant or future-only it is now, expanding across the earth like rain on a mowed field. Join us as we exult in the glory of the King whose dominion stretches from sea to sea, and whose name endures forever. Let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Long live the King! The Ascension isn't the end of Jesus' ministry—it's the beginning of His reign. In this sermon, Pastor Mark unpacks Acts 1 and Psalm 110 to show how Christ's enthronement empowers the church's mission and anchors our hope. Jesus is not absent—He's reigning. The mission has begun.
Episode 128This Easter, we celebrate Jesus, the Risen King, by turning to Psalm 2—a royal and Messianic psalm that points beyond earthly kings to the reign of Christ Himself. We look at the rebellion of humanity against God's authority, the laughter of God at human pride, the divine decree proclaiming Jesus as the true Son and rightful King, and the warning to all people to submit to His rule. Along the way, we contrast the defiant spirit of Invictus with the joyful surrender found in Christ, and we're challenged to ask: Have we embraced Jesus as our King? Are there areas in our lives still resisting His reign?Let your heart rejoice this Easter as we find hope in the Risen King whose rule will one day be fully established forever!Original Sermon: https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/42125251194210Find our videocast here: https://youtu.be/_tmhSLuRy_cMusic from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/reakt-music/deep-stoneLicense code: 2QZOZ2YHZ5UTE7C8Find more Take 2 Theology content at https://take2pod.wordpress.com/

Jesus reveals Himself to us through scripture. Faith comes by opening your heart and hearing the Word of God. Our confusion, our pain, our doubts - they find clarity when filtered through the lens of God's truth. Faith is not the absence of doubt. It's responding to doubt with an open heart, to take in the truth and believe.

We may not live in a monarchy, but we all bow down to something. Whether it's our careers, relationships, our lifestyles, or even ourselves, there are “kings” all around us. What or who would you say is the king over your life? Listen in as we discover who the one true King is and why, one day, every knee will bow to Him.
We often live as if Jesus' resurrection is past history but fail to see it as present power. But the resurrection was not the end of Jesus' ministry; he was only getting started.Sermon Outline:I. This Easter Sunday, we will gather to celebrate the Risen King. We'll open to Luke's Gospel and see how Jesus chose to spend the very first Easter. His decision might surprise you—He didn't go to the temple or the palace. He met two discouraged disciples on the road, walking away in disappointment.Come and see what happens when the Risen Jesus walks with the doubting, the wandering, and the weary. You just might find yourself in their story.
The resurrection of Jesus is more than just a historical event, confined to a singular moment in time that we celebrate. The power of the resurrection lies not just in what happened that day, but also in the on-going purpose that continues through each us. We are the evidence of His crucifixion and resurrection. Not only is He risen, He is risen within us, with the spirit of resurrection empowering us to live a life that reflects the Risen King and His Kingdom.
