The gospel of peace is more than a comforting idea. It's the declaration that Jesus reigns as King, bringing wholeness to your relationship with God, quieting the conflicts within you, and restoring your connection with others. When doubt, shame, or division threaten to knock you off balance, this truth becomes your firm footing. Listen now and be inspired to preach the gospel to yourself daily and stand grounded in lasting peace.
Revelation 19 shows us that the clearer we see Jesus as the victorious King, the steadier our allegiance to Him becomes. This message explores how seeing Jesus clearly anchors our trust, settles our allegiance, and gives us confidence to participate in His kingdom today. We also connect this to water baptism as a public declaration of allegiance to Jesus Christ, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
Kyle Kauffman | Apr 12 2026 In the events of Easter Jesus has forever secured the future hope for all who trust in him. This hope is that our bodies will be raised from the dead and we will live with Jesus in a perfect kingdom where there is no more trouble, tragedy, division, violence, loneliness, pain, and death. This is a hope that will be realized when Jesus returns to raise our bodies and bring his heavenly kingdom fully to this earth. It's important for us to be clear on the content and timing of our hope. Hope is most powerful in our lives when it is most clear in our heads and hearts. While there are things about our future hope that remain a mystery, 1 Corinthians 15:35-58 gives us details that help us to have more clarity on the hope that Jesus has secured for us. It is a hope that stirs our hearts with longing and expectation. It is a hope that sustains us through the troubles and trials we face in this life. And it is a hope that can help us to live purposefully in the present even as we wait for the return of our Victorious King.
This Easter Sunday, we celebrate Jesus not only as our risen, victorious King of Kings but also as our Gentle King. We trace the thread of His gentleness through his birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection and sending of His Spirit. May this exploration help us understand gentleness better, allow Jesus' gentleness to heal the places in our hearts that have been hurt by harshness and challenge us to reflect and extend His gentleness to a hurting, harsh world. For up-to-date info, follow our socials: https://www.instagram.com/freedomchurchbenoni/https://www.facebook.com/FreedomChurchBenoniMore episodes on all podcast platforms and our YouTube channel:Follow the link below, or search "freedom church Benoni" on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, or YouTube Music!https://www.youtube.com/@freedomchurchbenoni/podcasts#freedomchurchbenoni #sundayfunday
What if the pain you carry is shaping how you see God? In this message, we step into the story of the empty tomb and discover how Jesus meets people in their darkest moments, calls them by name, and offers real freedom from the past. If you've ever felt stuck, hurt, or unsure where God is, this is a reminder that He may be closer than you think.
On Easter Sunday, Jason Elsmore invites us to behold the King - to truly look, see, and focus our attention on Jesus. In this message from John 20, we discover that Jesus is not just any king, but the Risen King, bringing living hope. He is a Kind King, restoring what is broken. He is a Peaceful King, offering peace with God and peace for our hearts. And he is a Victorious King, who has overcome sin and death forever. _____If you need prayer, we're here for you. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the most important week in the Christian faith. It remembers when Jesus entered Jerusalem, just days before His crucifixion. The crowds welcomed Him with joy—waving palm branches and shouting “Hosanna” (“save us now”). At first, it looked like a victory celebration. But Jesus arrives not on a war horse, but on a donkey—revealing a Kingdom built on peace, humility, and sacrifice. Palm Sunday is full of paradox: ● A King enters, yet rides a donkey ● He is praised, yet heading to the cross ● The crowd shouts “Hosanna,” yet later cries “crucify Him” ● Victory looks like defeat Matthew 21:1–11 “Jesus enters Jerusalem fulfilling prophecy as the humble King, and the crowds respond with praise, asking, “Who is this?” 1. Conquer with Obedience Before entering the city, Jesus gives His disciples specific and unusual instructions—to go and fetch a donkey. It may not have made sense, but they obeyed, and everything happened exactly as Jesus said. This shows that breakthrough often begins with simple obedience. Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight.” Romans 1:5 “…the obedience that comes from faith…” Obedience doesn't always feel logical. The disciples could have questioned or delayed, but instead they trusted Jesus—and their obedience became part of fulfilling God's plan. Conquering in God's Kingdom starts with trusting His voice over your understanding. 2. Conquer with Humility Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, not a war horse, fulfilling prophecy and challenging expectations. Zechariah 9:9 “See, your king comes to you… gentle and riding on a donkey.” In a world that defines power as dominance, Jesus shows that true authority is expressed through humility. Philippians 2:6–8 Jesus humbled Himself, taking the nature of a servant and becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross. Humility is not weakness—it is strength under control. Jesus didn't lose power by humbling Himself; He revealed His true nature. James 4:10 “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” In God's Kingdom, you rise by going low. 3. Conquer by Surrender, Not Force Palm Sunday looks like victory, but it leads to the cross. Jesus did not come to take power—He came to give His life. Matthew 16:25 “Whoever wants to save their life will lose it…” The world teaches us to hold on and fight for control, but Jesus shows that true victory comes through surrender. Luke 9:23 “Take up their cross daily and follow me.” The cross, which looked like defeat, became the greatest victory in history. The Apostle Paul expressed this surrender powerfully: Philippians 3:7–9 “Whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ…” Philippians 3:13–14 “Forgetting what is behind… I press on toward the goal…” Paul had status, influence, and success, yet chose to surrender everything to gain Christ. You don't conquer by holding on—you conquer by surrendering. 4. Conquer by Recognising the King As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowd celebrated—but many misunderstood who He truly was. They saw a prophet, but not all recognised Him as the Saviour King. John 1:10–11 “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” It is possible to be close to Jesus and still misunderstand Him. A. W. Tozer said: “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” Matthew 16:15 “But what about you?… Who do you say I am?” Recognition is more than excitement—it is revelation. We must see Jesus for who He truly is, not just for what we want Him to do. Palm Sunday reminds us that God's way of victory looks different from the world. We conquer by: ● Obedience → Trusting God's voice ● Humility → Choosing to go low ● Surrender → Letting go of control ● Revelation → Recognising Jesus as King
When John describes the "Garden of Gethsemane" he does so from a vantage point that is very different from the other three Gospels. He shows us how Jesus is the Victorious King fully in charge of what is going on. He is the only Gospel writer to speak of the Brook Kidron, to speak of a garden, to speak of the detachment of troops falling to the ground at the word of Jesus, and He is the only Gospel writer to name Peter as the one who cut off Malchus' ear. The lessons we learn from John 18 are very deep and constantly relevant. Jesus intentionally went to the garden and willingly gave Himself over the arresting party.
A — What is this about? This passage shows Saul's transition from a hesitant, hidden figure into a Spirit-empowered king who delivers Israel. God uses Saul to rescue Jabesh Gilead, uniting the people and confirming Saul's kingship through victory and worship. B — Best verse to summarize the passage 1 Samuel 11:15 — "There they made Saul king before the LORD in Gilgal. There they made sacrifices of peace offerings before the LORD, and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly." C — What are we called to do? We are called to recognize that victory comes from the Lord alone, submit joyfully to His appointed King, and walk faithfully in His kingdom—ultimately following Jesus Christ, the true and greater King who delivers His people.

Jarek Berga - July 20th 2025 Jesus doesn't just build the Church—He builds us into it. In The King & His Kingdom series, we arrive at Matthew 16:13–20, where Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do you say I am?” Peter's confession of Jesus as the Christ becomes the foundation for a powerful promise: I will build my Church. This message presses us to consider the same question—and challenges us to live in light of Jesus' identity and mission. What we believe about Jesus will shape how we live, how we lead, and how we engage in the work of building His Church together. In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. — Romans 8:37 In times of uncertainty and seeming chaos, it's natural for people to seek out a strong leader to restore order and bring resolution. It may be a military hero, a political figure, or a charismatic leader. We often look to our own resources to bring stability to a volatile situation, don't we? Yet when we discover the ultimate victor and King, Jesus Christ, we learn, as he states in John 16:33, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Through his triumph over sin and death, Jesus declares victory over every force that opposes God and his plan of restoration. His victory brings hope to believers, promising peace and triumph despite the trials and struggles they may endure. In light of this, Paul boldly proclaims in Romans 8, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” The victory Jesus won through his death and resurrection is now shared with his followers. Our identity in Christ transforms us into victors who have new, full life forever in Christ. When we align with Jesus, no other power or influence can defeat us or keep us down. Victorious King, thank you for securing the ultimate triumph for us. Guide us to walk with confidence today, knowing that nothing we encounter can ultimately hold back your good purposes for our lives. Amen.

Pastor Zac Hess - Do you follow / worship / adore the victorious King?
Pastor Jeremy preaches out of Revelation 19, declaring the victorious return of Jesus as King of kings and Lord of lords, riding in glory to judge and make war in righteousness. He calls the Church to live with urgency, worship with reverence, and intercede boldly, knowing that Christ's second coming will bring both final justice and eternal hope.
As believers, it is vital that we have a strong understanding of the cross. Through it, Christ is eternally established as the Victorious King, who has permanently defeated the devil. Because of the cross, we should be ecstatic about our position and also recognize all He is doing. He has given us power and authority, and a unique calling to draw everyone to Himself. When Jesus declared, "It is finished," He wasn't just speaking of the end of His suffering—He was proclaiming the total defeat of the enemy and the completion of His redemptive work. But what exactly is finished? Jesus dismantled the enemy's claim to all authority and secured our victory forever. So why do we so often give power back to a defeated enemy by fighting battles Jesus already won? Instead of striving, how do we truly stand in the finished work of the cross and live confidently in His victory?
