Welcome back for an all new episode of Totally Radical Cartoon Podcast. This week, Randy looks at an episode of Voltron.Zarkon blames Lotor for Voltron's continued victories, and commands that he himself, not a robot, take down the Voltron Force. He has Haggar create a stronger and equally-wise duplicate of himself instead, which he sends to Arus. When a Robeast's forcefield disables both the castle's and the Lions' power, Keith swims out to set up a mine to disable it. The clone arrives to fight him with surprising skill. The others hurry to prepare the limited technology they have for him to return, but don't know that he is locked in single combat in which he will have to win before returning to form Voltron, the only thing that will ruin the machine.

Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast

Marc and Greg review the 4th Episode of the 8th and final season of Voltron Legendary Defender on Netflix: Battle Scars. Also, for our Retro Voltron segment, Greg details 2 episodes that relate to Battle Scars, 1 from Voltron: Defender of the Universe Lion Force, called Pidge's Home Planet, and 1 from Vehicle Force called Great Stone Space Faces. In Battle Scars, while floating through the universe searching for signs of a Robeast, the Paladins head toward Olkarion and realize they aren't alone on their journey. Here are some of our favorite screenshots from Battle Scars: And from our Retro Voltron Segment, here is the synopsis from Pidge's Home Planet: Princess Allura is preparing for her coronation as the rest of the Voltron Force looks on. After Nanny insults them, the guys decide to check the monitor to see if there is any trouble. They discover that Pidge's home planet, Balto, is under attack by Zarkon's forces. Pidge said that his family was moving to a new planet, but he is not sure if they made it out in time. Keith, Lance, Pidge, and Hunk decide to head for Balto, but are cut off by the castle guards. Coran tells them that they must stay and protect planet Arus. He tries to place them under house arrest, but the Space Explorers quickly subdue the guards and head for Balto. Once there, they are confronted by Lotor and a new Ro-Beast. Back on Arus, Allura receives a telepathic distress message from Keith. She must now decide whether to stay and protect her planet, or to go and help her friends. Here is a screenshot from Pidge's Home Planet: Also from the Retro Voltron segment, here is the synopsis of Great Stone Space Faces: The Voltron Force discovers signs of an ancient civilization on planet Neb. However, the planet is unstable and Nerok is right behind them, ready for an ambush. Hazar meets with his father, Chancellor Mozak, to consider the fate of the Drule Empire. They realize that the empire will lose if they try to attack Earth, and peace is their only long-term option. Here is a screenshot from Great Stone Space Faces: As Always, Thanks for Listening! Marc and Greg review Episode 2 of Season 2: The Depths. Plus, our Voltron Fan Spotlight is on Nami. And we preview New York Toy Fair, with some pictures taken by our on-the-spot-reporter, Sarah Fetter. More info on NYTF coming soon, but the big news concerns Season 3, and how many seasons we may get at a minimum. Let's keep going with New York Toy Fair, which took place in New York City, from February 18-21. We have some exclusive pics taken by Sarah Fetter, who was on our 3rd Anniversary podcast previously at LetsVoltron.com/82. These pics are directly from the Playmates Toys Booth at NYTF, which was showing prototypes of Wave 2 toys from the Voltron Legendary Defender line of toys, as well as the existing Wave 1 line. The key news takeaways from Sarah's visit involved what will be occurring later this year. A card on the wall gave important information about what's to come for Voltron Legendary Defender: 1. Voltron Legendary Defender is a key element of Netflix's push for original family content. Currently, the commitment is to 78 episodes total. Who knows? If this becomes the Juggernaut we hope it becomes, there may be contract extensions which add episodes to this commitment. It all depends on how well the merchandise surrounding the show sells. 2. 26 episodes were scheduled for 2017. The first 13 (Season 2) were released on Netflix on January 20th. Season 3 is expected in September 2017. No specific date has been set. 3. Netflix will be debuting 10 Episodes of Classic Voltron in March, with new content added. Speculation is running rampant on this, and we will get more information on this as it becomes available. This is exciting to see! 4. Additional Second Screen content will be provided before Easter, with additional content occurring throughout the summer of 2017. We're not sure, but this could mean a tablet/smartphone app or other content accessed by a website. Just guessing. 5. Finally, cross-category marketing events will be occurring throughout the year, including a Burger King kids meal promotion. Can't wait to see Voltron Legendary Defender everywhere we go! Now, with that exciting news, comes the pics of a new wave of Playmates Toys Voltron Legendary Defender items, including the 5 Paladins in their uniforms, where the helmets actually come off, and they include bayard accessories (Shiro has his purple hand). Other basic figures are Emperor Zarkon and the Robeast from both Seasons 1 and 2 on the Balmera. Die-Cast lions will be available, which combine into an 8-inch Die-Cast Voltron. And Mega Lions will be available with Pilot figures that sit in the cockpit. These included pilot figures have helmets that do not come off. It looks like Red and Blue Lions will be available first, with additional Lions available later. This wave of toys is expected in the Fall of 2017, in time for Christmas. Here are those exclusive pics from Sarah Fetter. Thank you, Sarah! In this podcast, Marc and Greg review Episode 2 from Season 2, The Depths. This episode, which stars Lance and Hunk and a number of mermaids, sees our heroes trying to get back to the Castleship after falling to the depths of an ocean on a distant planet, only to get caught up in a mermaid adventure that sees Hunk and Lance in a very precarious situation. Here are some screenshots from this episode: For this podcast, our Voltron Fan Spotlight is Nami. Neil Kaplan, who plays Emperor Zarkon in Voltron Legendary Defender, makes his triumphant return to the podcast to help Marc and Greg review the Season 1 Finale Episode 11: Black Paladin. Neil Kaplan is the quintessential fanboy turned voice actor, but remained a fanboy. A San Francisco Giants fan to the end, Neil is so proud of his pet dog, Buster, that he gave the canine his own Twitter account (@BusterKaplan). Neil has a plethora of possible theories about Voltron Legendary Defender, and you will hear them all, as well as pop culture references out the ying-yang, as Marc and Greg go deep and review Black Paladin, the Season 1 Finale of Voltron Legendary Defender with Zarkon himself. Neil produces all these possible theories about story plot, characters, and their backstories, without ever spoiling what may be ahead in our favorite Netflix series. After we talk to Neil, we are proud to present our first paired Voltron Fan Spotlight. This podcast's Voltron Voice Meme comes from Anna and Miko, who listen to the podcast, and are big Voltron fans. We continue our episode reviews of Voltron: Defender of the Universe with Episodes 25 – 28, where Marc and Author Dan Jolley make comparisons with Beast King GoLion. Marc starts by catching up with Dan as Dan tells us about his current comic books, novels, and video games he's writing. Dan is proud to announce some things he can actually talk about: For comic books, Dan co-wrote “LARP!” from Dark Horse Comics with Shawn deLoache. The first issue is available here: https://www.darkhorse.com/Books/24-368/LARP-Volume-1-TPB Dan is writing a 3-novel trilogy, all original, called The Gray Widow Trilogy. Gunfire Games have hired Dan as lead writer to create a rich narrative that chronicles one hero's lifelong quest to save his homeland from an evil force. [REPOSTED FROM THE REVERSE THIEVES]  This is a bonus segment of the Speakeasy Podcast we like to call Crime Scene Investigations. These are random bonus podcasts that we record live from various events. There is no regular schedule for these. We will put them up as quickly as we can when the opportunity for one occurs. We suspect they will mostly be from conventions but we might work in some interviews and conversation from NY events as fate allows. The great Robeast that was AnimeNEXT 2013 could not be slain by a single podcasting mecha. It required the effort of an elite team of podcasters in combining lions to handle an event like this in the forsaken land of New Jersey. Evan and Ink from the Ani-Gamers podcast formed the legs. Vincenzo and Vince who were not only staff but also are part of the All Geeks Considered podcast formed the arms. And Xan from the Spiraken Manga Review formed the head. That makes me, Hisui, the Blazing Sword that let the team snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
