A a už samotné místo udělá polovinu zážitku. Do Labyrintu.Dole je jádro programu i atmosféry. Mezipatro s výhledem na hlavní prostor a shibari stage, vedle menší pokojíček na intimitu (kondomy, gely, houpačka se závěsem) – a vedle toho další zákoutí, kde se míchá performance s tím, že se návštěvníci opravdu hýbou, zkouší, objevují. Z highlightů zmiňujeme dlouhé shibari vystoupení Terezie Kovalové a Dedeho (cca hodina), Aran Mars boylesque, Acrokopyta a Black Gold Cabaret – tematicky pole dance, šály, aerial hoop, tanec v síti… prostě „tělo v industriálu“, co je zároveň něžné i drsné.Velká radost byl i fotící budoár = fotky na místě na „sofa“ (máme taky), pak křesílko s jiným nasvícením – a my si z toho odnášíme jediné. Musíme si říct ještě o další fotky, protože tohle je přesně ten typ prostoru, kde outfit konečně dostane důstojnou stopu.A aby to nebylo jen o koukání. Dole fungoval i playroom s BDSM nábytkem a „Písklaty“ (kdo ví, ví). „On to vlastně vůbec nepotřebuje,“ dodává s tím, že právě tyto kroky mohou naopak společnost mobilizovat.

Par to diskusija Krustpunktā. Nepaliks. Jautājums tikai - kāda būs nākotnes Latvija? Cik daudz mēs spējam ietekmēt situāciju, cik daudz to vajag ietekmēt, ar ko ir jāsamierinās, kam jāpielāgojas?

The different textual views on Job 13:15The textual difficulties and translation of this verse is the most disputed in the book. 13:15 Though he slay me, yet I will trust in Him- KJVThough He slay me, I will hope in Him- NASBGod might kill me, but I have no other hope- NLT What does the Hebrew text say?In the main Hebrew text, the Codex Leningradensis, there is a negative lo, no before the verb hope. Some Hebrew manuscripts have lu, to Him, instead of no.Does the hen at the beginning of the verse mean behold or does it mean if in this context?Does the final verb mean trust (AV), wait (RV), hesitate (NEB), trembleThe value of the NLT at this point is that it shows Job's desperation. He does not think it will work, it is his only chance. Jewish rabbis throughout the centuries wrestled with the meeting. In the second century A.D. these words were written. Mishnah Sota 5. 5 On that same day Rabbi Yehoshua ben Hyrcanus taught: Job served the Holy One, Blessed be He, only out of love, as it is stated: “Though He will slay me, still I will trust in Him” (Job 13:15). And still, the matter is even, i.e., the verse is ambiguous, as there are two possible interpretations of the verse. Was Job saying: I will await Him, expressing his yearning for God; or should the verse be interpreted as saying I will not await Him. As the word “lo” can mean either “to him” or “not,” it is unclear which meaning is intended here. Which fits the context best? “How one resolves these ambiguities is as much a matter of context as text.”[1] While sometimes in textual questions the text is decisive, the contradictory evidence from the text itself may point to context as the most important way to answer this question. Contextually, which of these readings make more sense? There are writers who each appeal to the context and yet go in opposite directions.13:15 Job will defend his ways to God's face 13:16 If Job were a hypocrite would he put his life in jeopardy this way? This, along with vs. 18, sounds like he expects vindication. Even if this passage is positive, what is Job's hope, is his hope to survive the trial or is his hope to be vindicated even if he does not survive this trial. The overall context of Job 12-14 is less positive. I am afraid some writers begin from the basis that Job has no hope of the afterlife. Then when we encounter a difficult passage they argue therefore that this could not be proof of the afterlife because Job has no belief in it. [1] Newsome, 435.

Peygamber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz'in Muhterem anne ve babaları îmân üzereydiler. Onlar, İbrâhim (a.s.)'in tevhid dinine bağlıydılar. Asla putlara tapmadılar. Peygamberimiz (s.a.v.)'in Muhterem babaları Hz. Abdullâh (r.a.), haseb ve nesebce Kureyş'in en temiz soyuna mensûbdur. Buhârî, Resûl-i Ekrem (s.a.v.)'in atalarını, İbrâhîm (a.s.)'a kadar çıkarır. İbrâhîm Halîl (a.s.), Kâ'be'yi ilk binâ eden olduğundan, Resûl-i Ekrem (s.a.v.)'e kadar, bütün İbrâhîm (a.s.) evlâdı, Kâ'be'ye hizmet ede gelmişlerdir. Bu yönden, Resûl-i Ekrem (s.a.v.)'in yüce ecdâdının bütün hayatları, kemâl derecede kayıt ve zabt altındadır. Nebî (s.a.v.); “Ben, Allâh (c.c.)'nun Peygamberiyim, bunda yalan yoktur! Ben, Abdulmuttalib'in torunuyum, soyumda yalancı yoktur!” buyurmuşlardır ve bozulan ordunun mânevi kuvvetini iâde etmişlerdir. Büyük âlim Münâvî'ye: “Nebî (s.a.v.)'in babası cehennemde midir?” diye sorulduğunda Münâvî, şiddetle haykırarak; “Nebî (s.a.v.)'in babası, Fetret devrinde vefât etmiştir. Fetret devrinde vefât edenlere İsrâ sûresi 15. âyette: “Biz, bir peygamber göndermedikçe kimseye azâb edecek değiliz.” diye buyuruluyor” diyerek cevâb vermiştir. Diğer bir rivâyete göre Peygamberimiz (s.a.v.) Vedâ Haccı'ndan döndüğü zaman, Allâhü Te‘âlâ, ona anne babasını ve amcası Ebû Tâlib'i diriltti. Peygamber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz, onlara İslâmiyeti arz etti. Onlar da îmân ettiler (sonra yine öldüler). (Tarihü İbnü'lVerdi, c. 1, s. 102) (Ömer Faruk Hilmi, Ehl-i Beyt'in Fazileti ve Ebû Tâlib'in İmanı, s.16)
Şevvâl ayında altı gün oruç tutmak, sahîh hadîs ile sabittir. Nebî (s.a.v.) şöyle buyurmuştur: “Ramazan-ı Şerif ayında oruç tutup, ardından Şevvâl ayından da altı gün oruç tutarsa, bir yıl oruç tutmuş gibi olur”. Ebû Eyyûb (r.a.) buyurur ki, Resûlullâh (s.a.v.)'den “Bir gününe on gün mü?” diye sordum: “Evet” buyurdu. Nitekim Allâhü Te'âlâ: “Hayır işlerinde yarışırlar” (Âl-i İmrân s. 114) buyuruyor. Bâzı âlimler de, “Şevvâl ayının her on gününde ikişer gün oruç tutmalıdır” demişlerdir. (Muhammed Rebhâmi, Riyadü'n-Nâsihîn, s.257)
In this week's episode, AgingIN CEO Susan Ryan sits down with Christie Hinrichs, president and CEO of Frasier, a life plan community in Boulder, Colo., who shares her journey from growing up on a farm in rural Nebraska to pioneering the Green House model at Tabitha, a senior living community in Omaha, Neb. Throughout their conversation, Christie reflects on the experiences that shaped her commitment to older adults—from childhood visits with "adopted grandparents" to her early work in hospice social work. Now leading Frasier, Christie describes a thriving community that offers a range of services where residents drive programming and engagement—so much so that the community has an 800-person waitlist. She shares why curiosity, respect, and accountability are core to building vibrant elder communities. As board chair of LeadingAge, Christie also addresses the urgent workforce crisis in aging services and calls for greater collaboration across organizations and states to meet the needs of a rapidly aging population. Olivia Little, 340B director at Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh, Neb., was closely involved with a coalition of providers that was able to get such a bill passed through the state's legislature and signed into law by the governor. But she describes why getting the law enacted wasn't the end of the story.A Wide Range of ResponsesLittle says once her state's contract pharmacy protection law went into effect, she began receiving notices about 340B pricing being restored from some drug companies. But not all drugmakers restored previous pricing levels right away in Nebraska — some took months, and some have not yet done so despite the law going into effect nearly a year ago. The wide range of ways in which companies responded to the new law created difficult choices for hospitals between risking a potential compliance issue or leaving some 340B savings on the table. Having a Game PlanLittle says her advice to other health systems in states with new contract pharmacy protections would be to have a plan in place for what happens when the law goes into effect. Implementing these protections can raise questions about issue such as backdating, inventory, and retesting claims for 340B status. The complex tracking of multiple drugmaker policies in response to the Nebraska law resulted in her needing to closely document communications with drug companies and their vendors. The Need To Be PersistentLittle also stressed that getting pharmacy protections to pass through her state legislature and get to the governor's desk took years of effort, advocacy, and redrafting to ensure success. Between media appearances and advocating in the statehouse and on social media, Little says this success ultimately came down to the core message: 340B is good for patients, hospitals, and communities.Resources:HRSA Gives Short Window for Stakeholder Input on Reviving 340B Rebate Model

John 14:15-31,15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. 18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me. 25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. 28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, 31 but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here.Twenty-two years ago I stumbled into the habit of private worship every morning. I would get up early, make some coffee, and spend time reading God's word and praying. It's been the most transformative habit of my life — I've never stopped doing it. But about six years ago, I added a new part to it. The first thing I do now, right before I read the Bible, is I seek the mercy of God and give him thanks. I confess my need to God for his mercy and then I thank God for a specific way he has shown me mercy. And it can be all kinds of things … Sometimes it's Father, thank you for coffee. This is a good cup of coffee! Sometimes it's Father, thank you that I slept okay last night. … Thank you for that meeting yesterday … for that conversation … for that thing I learned in that book … and on and on.If we spend time thinking about it, we have so much to thank God for. But the one thing I have probably mentioned the most, over the last five years, and especially over the last three weeks, is actually a person — it's Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit!I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of Life.He proceeds from the Father and the Son, And with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified. And in our passage today, in John 14, Jesus introduces us to the Holy Spirit. For the sermon I just want to tell you three things that Jesus tells us about him. 1. The Holy Spirit is sent by the Father and the Son. We're at verse 15, but recall the context here. It is still Thursday night — the longest Thursday ever — and Jesus is in the middle of his Farewell Discourse. Back at the end of Chapter 13, for the first time, Jesus told his disciples that he's leaving. He is preparing them for a new location within redemptive history — his disciples are about to live in a world where he is physically absent. And this is troubling to them — they are in a troubled-heart situation, and Jesus wants to encourage them. We saw that in Chapter 14. Jesus tells them not to let their hearts be troubled; because his going away is for their good; and he's going to come back for them. Jesus is their way to God; he's God's way to them — and he still has greater works that he's gonna do through them. And that's where we ended last week, in verses 12–14. Jesus introduced two stunning realities about life for believers after his death, resurrection, and ascension. Two Stunning RealitiesThe first of those stunning realities is that those who believe in him — us — will do greater works than he did in his earthly ministry. And we clarified last week that this work is not work that we do ourselves. It's not work in our own strength or isolated from Jesus, but it's work that Jesus is doing through us. The second stunning reality is that Jesus says whatever we ask in his name, he will do it. These are two big claims, and they raise some important questions. Questions like: How exactly will we do greater works? How do we know if we are praying in Jesus's name?Well, the answer to these questions is the Holy Spirit. I couldn't help but talk about the Spirit a little bit last week — Jesus is going to talk a lot about him over the next two chapters — but the first thing we need to know is that the Spirit is sent by Jesus and the Father. The Father and the Son are both ‘in on' the Spirit's coming. Listen to the ways Jesus tells us this …In verse 16, Jesus says the Father will give the Spirit, but it is because the Son asks the Father. In verse 23, speaking of the Spirit's presence in a believer, Jesus says that we, he and the Father, will make our home with him. In verse 26, Jesus says the Father will send the Spirit — but Jesus says it is “in my name.” Later, in 15:16, Jesus says that he will send the Spirit from the Father. So, who sends the Spirit? Where's he from? ‘The Father or the Son?' The answer is Yes.The Holy Spirit has always been active within the Trinity, and at work in creation, but after Jesus's ascension, the Father and Son act together in sending the Spirit on a new mission. Now, why is it important for us to know this? Why does it matter that the Father and Son are together in this? The most obvious reason is that Jesus emphasizes it. Jesus wants us to know this, and I think it's because we need to understand that the Spirit is not some ‘Plan B' in redemptive history. We should not think Jesus introducing the Holy Spirit in this section is some kind of backup option. It's not like things went sideways with the mission of Jesus and now the Spirit is a reinforcement. Not at all. Instead, the sending of the Spirit is according to God's eternal playbook from before the foundation of the world. This is the next step in the Triune God's resolve to bring salvation and magnify his glory. The Spirit is from the Father and the Son.Here's the second thing Jesus tells us about the Spirit.2. The Holy Spirit is the presence of Jesus in our lives. The keyword we need to see here is that word “Helper” in verse 16:“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.” The Greek work for “Helper” is the word Paraclete — and it's a title for the Spirit that we only find in John — four times in this Gospel (14:16, 26; 15:26; 16:7). And it's a glorious word, but it doesn't have a direct translation into English. A couple of translations, the English Standard Version (the one I use) translates it as “Helper.” But the King James translates it “Comforter.” Another translation says “Counselor.” Several translations say “Advocate” (NRSV; NEB; NIV). And really, the meaning is a combination of all those words, but the one idea that's clear in all those translations is the idea of presence. The Paraclete comes alongside.Jesus says in verse 16: the Paraclete, the Spirit, will be “with you forever.”He “dwells in you and will be in you” — verse 17.In the same way Jesus was with his disciples, the Spirit will be with his disciples — as the Spirit of Jesus. And Jesus is going to show us this in a powerful way, but first I want to zoom out for a minute and take the whole New Testament into account.New Testament SurveyThe New Testament talks a lot about the Holy Spirit, and two key ways he's referred to…One way is that he's called the promise of the Father (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4; Galatians 3:14). This speaks to the fact that the Spirit is according to God's plan. He's the fulfillment of a promise we see in the Old Testament. The other way to talk about the Spirit is to call him the Spirit of Jesus. In Acts 16:7, Luke says “the Spirit of Jesus” guided their missionary travel. In Romans 8:9, Paul says the “Spirit of Christ” shows that we belong to Christ — the Spirit of Christ is Christ in you. Galatians 4:6 — “God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts.” Philippians 1:19 — Paul says he is helped by “the Spirit of Jesus Christ.”So, biblically, theologically, the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is so closely identified with Jesus himself that it is right to call him the Spirit of Jesus. Jesus himself tells us this first. The Wonderful AnotherLook back at that word “Helper” in verse 16 and notice the word right before it: another. The Father and Son are sending another Helper. So the Spirit is a new helper, but he's of the same kind as a Helper who came before him. So who is that first Helper? It's Jesus. Jesus was one Paraclete, and now the Spirit is another Paraclete. This means the Spirit is not a replacement for Jesus, but he is the continuation of Jesus's work in a new way. But the Son and Spirit are not just united in their mission, they are united in their essence as God. Both are fulfilling the mission of the triune God to be with his people — the Son is God with us; the Spirit is God in us.This is why Jesus can say to his disciples, verse 18: “I will not leave you as orphans” — Jesus says I'm not really leaving you! He's actually magnifying his presence among them. Get this:The Paraclete is first Jesus himself with his people in person, confined to flesh and blood and dirt; and then the Paraclete is the Holy Spirit in his people — he is the promise of the Father, the Spirit of Jesus, who indwells everyone who trusts in Jesus … he speaks, consoles, guides, teaches — just like Jesus did. Ministering RealnessOne way to say it that connects with language we use is to say that the Holy Spirit ministers the realness of Jesus in our lives. That's the way we should understand Paul's experience toward the end of his life. We know that's where Paul was when he wrote his final letter to Timothy. Paul says in Chapter 4 (of 2 Timothy) that the “time of his departure” has come: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (4:7). And then Paul recounts for Timothy the relational brokenness that laid behind him, and he's honest about how lonely he felt when he awaited trial in Rome; he says “no one came to stand by me” (4:16). But then in verse 17 he says: “But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me.”And he's talking about Jesus there. Jesus stood by Paul and strengthened him. And I've long imagined what that was like. Did Jesus step through the wall of Paul's room and wrap his arm around his shoulder? Sometimes I wish Jesus would do that for me — Just be physically in the room and help me like you did Paul! But is that what he did for Paul?I don't think so. What happened for Paul is that the Holy Spirit — the Spirit of Jesus — was so present and so powerful for him that Paul can say it was like Jesus himself standing by him. The Spirit of Jesus manifested the realness of Jesus for Paul — and I want you to know: we should settle for nothing less in the Christian life. That's the aim of our discipleship. The mission of Cities Church is to make joyful disciples of Jesus who remember his realness in all of life. And when we say that, we're talking about the ministry of the Holy Spirit! Because Jesus tells us the Holy Spirit is his presence in our lives.Third thing Jesus tells us …3. The Holy Spirit empowers our love for Jesus in his world. For this third and final point, we need to come to grips with a repeated theme in this passage. Four different times Jesus tells us there is a connection between loving him and keeping his commandments. It's easy to track, first in verse 15, right away:Verse 15: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”Verse 21: “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me.”Verse 23: “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word.”Verse 24: “Whoever does not love me does not keep my words.”And then verse 31 — what Jesus says about our love for him also applies to his love for the Father. Jesus says, verse 31:“I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father.”This theme is the clearest thing Jesus says. It's straightforward; no way around it. If you love Jesus, you do what he says. Well what does he say? What are his commandments? What Are His Commandments? The answer here, in short, is the whole Bible. It would be a mistake to truncate what Jesus says as being only the red-letter parts of the Gospels. It's much more than that. Instead, the commandments of Jesus, his word, is the whole revelation of who Jesus is, which blooms into the apostolic testimony, also called the New Testament, which is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. What Jesus says is the whole Bible. Which means: to really love Jesus means your life is shaped and guided by Scripture. The single word for this is obedience. Trust and obey, for there's no other wayTo be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obeyWe used to sing that song when I was kid growing up in church. It's not rocket-science. We all understand that any kind of real love involves more than only sentiment. It can't be just a feeling. And proof that we know this was yesterday — Valentine's Day.Valentines is an old American holiday. It took off in the late 1800s because a woman named Esther Howland had this idea to mass-produce romantic greeting cards. It became a custom that men would send the ladies they were courting a card. Now 150 years later, fellas, if you did it right: you got a card, and chocolates, and flowers, and a dinner reservation — or some combination of that. But we all know that what you cannot do on Valentine's Day is only say “I love you.” Some activity is expected. Love requires demonstration.Love is not less than affection — affections matter — but there's more. There's activity — and the activity that verifies our love for Jesus is obedience to him in this world. Getting Obedience RightAnd listen: the order of that sentence is really important. We are called to obedience to Jesus in this world. It's not obedience to the world for Jesus. Because get this: the world has its own commandments. There's all kinds of commandments the world says people must keep if they're really about love — like I think we're supposed to acknowledge that we're on ‘stolen land' right now and we're supposed to specify our pronouns, and make certain kinds of statements, and check certain boxes. The world has its own commandments — Recently, someone who hates Jesus told me they wanted to talk to me about our optics for Jesus. … And I said, “No thank you.”Jesus does not need us to try to make him look good by doing what the world tells us to do. Jesus calls us to do what he says in a world that will hate us … a world that will revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely (see Matthew 5:11). We're not called to manage that. We're called to obey Jesus, come what may in this world. And obedience like that is hard, with the pressures around us. How do we do it? How do we obey Jesus here? The answer is: The empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit Empowers UsThe love we have for Jesus — and our obedience that demonstrates that love — does not come from our own strength, but it comes through the gift of the Spirit in our lives. I think that's part of what Paul is saying in Romans 5:5. You've heard these verses before: … we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.And the question is what does Paul mean when he says “God's love” — is this the love of God for us OR our love for God. Well, I think it's first God's love for us, but it also includes our love for God, which must always come next. Our love for God is essential to our character — that's why we ultimately will not be put to shame — Because our love for God is actually a gift from God himself. Our love for God is from his Spirit who seals us and keeps us. Theologically, we understand the Holy Spirit is the bond of love between the Father and Son. This is mysterious, and we wrestle with what Scripture says here; we'll see what Jesus says in Chapter 17. But the Holy Spirit, who is the personal love that flows between the Father and Son, is poured into our hearts as the love that unites us to Jesus. Our love for Jesus, demonstrated by our obedience, is empowered by the Spirit. Peace Even HereThe good news we should hear is that our love for Jesus, which he commands, is love his Spirit creates. When Jesus tells us to obey him, he is not pointing us to an impossible ladder — but he's ensuring the divine supply we need for all things that pertain to life and godliness. Jesus doesn't tell us ‘make me bricks without straw' — but he says: We are making our home in you … I'm with you forever … even in this world … even in troubled-heart situations. This is the only way we can have peace. Jesus says, verse 27:“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”That is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to us …Sent by the Father and the Son.Serving the realness of Jesus in our lives.Empowering our love for Jesus in this world. I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit. Aren't you? Thank you, Jesus, for the Holy Spirit. I want more of him! That's what brings us to the Table. The TableJohn shows us, in this Gospel, and in his letters, that love is demonstrated. Our love for Jesus is demonstrated in obedience, but that always follows God's love for us first. John says that we love because God first loved us, and we see that love definitively at the cross. Paul says that in Romans 5 … “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (NASB).That's the best news in the world. If you're here this morning and you're not a Christian, you become a Christian by believing that. Jesus Christ died to save you, a sinner. Believe him. For those of us who do believe, at this Table we rejoice in Jesus and his gospel. If you trust in Jesus, we invite you to eat and drink with us, and give him thanks.

6:1-13 Job gives a defense of HimselfSeveral writers on Job say that the various speakers say little about the previous speech or speakers. A strong point of Habel's commentary is that he points out connections between the various speakers. First, there are several vocabulary connections between Eliphaz in Job 4-5 and Job's speech in Job 6. The word ‘anguish' in 6:2 is the same word translated ‘anger' in 5:2. The word ‘hope' in 6:8 was used by Eliphaz in 4:6; 5:16. The word ‘crush' in 6:9 was used in 4:19; 5:4. ‘Fear' in 6:14, 21 is from the same root at 4:6. The word ‘perish' in 4:7, 9,11, 20 is used by Job in 6:18. Second, it may be that 6:1-7 is a specific response to Eliphaz in 5:1-7 where he spoke of the foolish man and Job's words in 6:8-13 are a response to 4:2-6 that Eliphaz uttered about Job's hope.6:14-23 Job expresses his disappointment with his friends. The friend's behavior was exemplary in Job 2:11-13. They came from distances, they wept over Job's condition, and they sat with him in silence. Now, Job feels betrayed by them. 6:14 For the despairing man there should be kindness from his friend- There are three words in the Hebrew text that lead to the translation here. The word kindness is the word hesed. The word usually describes God's love for man and loyalty to His people (Deut. 7:9; Neh. 1:5; Ps. 25:10). It also describes man's love for one another (I Sam. 18:1; 20:14-16; Prov. 17:17; 18:24; Hos. 4:1) and in a couple of cases man's love for God (Jer. 2:2). He speaks of his relationship with these three as being a relationship among friends and one in which he could expect lovingkindness. So that he does not forsake the fear of the Almighty- Job uses the term Shaddai as Eliphaz did in Job 5:17. This verse is translated differently in various versions. The NIV has the that the man's friends should stick by him even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty. The NAB and NEB have similar translations. This translation line up with Biblical teaching (Deut. 13:6-11; I Sam. 2:29; Matt. 10:34-37). While the idea of the NIV does not fit Bible teaching does not necessarily mean that Job did not say it. Remember he too said some things that he should not say. However, it does make up think about other possibilities. Other translations have the idea that man should be encouraged that he might not forsake the fear of God (NASB). Some translations convey the idea that the friend who withholds encouragement forsakes the fear of God (ESV, RSV, JB). I John 4:7-8. Eliphaz wants to know why Job's fear of God does not sustain him in his trial in Job 4:6. Job here wants to know why Eliphaz, and his friends do not encourage him more because of their fear of God.
Nebýt dvou náhodných kolemjdoucích, děti by se utopily. Udělal bych to znovu, říká Jakub Černý, jehož hrdinský čin ocenil prezident. Prezident Petr Pavel letos 28. října na Pražském hradě udělil medaili Za hrdinství osmi lidem. Vedle vojáků, kteří prokázali hrdinství v boji, ocenil i tři občany, kteří díky své pohotovosti a obětavosti zachránili lidské životy. Back to Nature Farms, located in Fremont, Neb.Operated by Chad and Dawn Christianson, “At Back to Nature Farms, we believe that healthy soil creates healthy plants, which leads to thriving animals supplying nutrient-dense food for you, our thriving customer.”You may have heard the term “regenerative agriculture” and may not understand what it is. We didn't fully understand the principles behind it either. In learning more, we were taught about the interaction between the soil, plants, animals, and ultimately human health – YOUR health.Centuries ago, animal migration was what fertilized and kept the ecosystem in check. The pressure of the animals moving along the soil, foraging the plants, and their ruminants (excrement) all had a major impact on the soil and plants, while giving the animals the proper nutrition they needed to move across the lands. We learned that by not having animals in our row cropping operation, we were giving you, the consumer, a mediocre product. Knowing our responsibility as stewards of the land and providing the best quality food for you, this was eye-opening to learn. We soon started custom-grazing cows on our cover crops during the fall/winter season, and this new adventure began. Soon, we had the opportunity to expand Back to Nature Farms.Little did we know that caring for and raising livestock would be such a joyful and rewarding addition to the farm and family. After rotational grazing of cattle in the fall and winter months, you will find chickens and pigs grazing in the spring and summer months in the pasture. Doing this helps make the soil even more fertile while they are free to eat bugs, scratch at the earth, root, dig and do everything a pig and chicken is naturally inclined to do. We value using honest business practices to produce healthy, nutrient-dense proteins with transparency, so you know where and how your food is raised. These practices allow the animals to flourish without the use of added hormones or antibiotics and pass that goodness on to you the way nature intended. We have all attended many seminars and conferences to help us learn and understand this cycle. We can never learn enough to keep expanding our knowledge and passion for regenerative agriculture.--Follow their endeavors:WEBSITE: www.backtonaturefarms.orgEMAIL: info@backtonaturefarms.orgPHONE: Chad - (402) 720-0593; Dawn - (402) 720-0108INSTA: @back.to.nature.farmsTIKTOK: back.to.nature.far www.cheerswithears.org@cheerswithears--Be sure to rate, review, and subscribe.HOST: Kerry HoffschneiderGUESTS: Chad & Dawn Christianson--CREDITS:Mitchell Roush, ProducerBibi Luevano, Cover ArtPurple Planet Music, Theme
A new campaign, the National Emergency Briefing, thinks (rightly) there's a climate emergency going on. They want Keir Starmer to go on TV and tell the nation, like Boris did with Covid. But would that work? Do people think about climate change the same as other types of 'emergency'? In this Micro episode I chat to climate comms guru Adam Corner about the similarities - and differences - between climate emergencies and the Covid emergency. After a snippet of my 2021 chat him, I dial him up again for his latest views on the back of the NEB. You can listen to the full interview here or in the back catalogue. You can watch all 3 hours of the National Emergency Briefing here (and yes, that is a link to GB News... credit where it's due.)Please do consider chipping in a couple of quid over at http://www.patreon.com/yourbrainonclimate. AABP Executive Director Dr. Fred Gingrich is joined by Dr. Geoffrey Smith, dairy technical services veterinarian with Zoetis. Calf scours remains a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in beef and dairy calves. Smith reviews his presentation from the 2025 AABP conference in Omaha, Neb. and AABP members can view that presentation on the CE portal by going to this page. Understanding the pathophysiology of neonatal scours can help veterinarians and producers understand the treatment goals. Calves with scours typically have a metabolic acidosis with hyponatremia, hypokalemia, hypoglycemia and dehydration. It is important to replace the sodium to rehydrate the calf. Smith reviews the IV fluid therapy options including lactated ringers, isotonic sodium bicarbonate, hypertonic saline solution, and hypertonic sodium bicarbonate. Calculating the base deficit can be done with bloodwork but can also be estimated with an estimate of 20 mEq/L in a down calf. Smith also reviews some guidelines for a good oral electrolyte solution which includes 90-130 mEq/L of sodium, glycine for an energy source and to help sodium be absorbed from the gut, an alkalinizing agent such as sodium bicarbonate or sodium acetate, a strong ion difference (sodium plus potassium minus chloride) of at least 60 which is an indication of the fluid's ability to alkalinize the calf. We also review some of the questions asked at the conference. As we prepare for winter and the next calving season, this episode will help veterinarians and your clients prepare for treating calf scours when our prevention efforts fail.

AABP Executive Director Dr. Fred Gingrich is joined by technical services veterinarians from Merck Animal Health, Dr. Jacque Fusilier and Dr. Dave Sjeklocha to discuss bovine respiratory disease (BRD) in beef cattle. BRD has long been a challenge in the cattle industry but today, we are taking a fresh look. From shifting market dynamics to evolving herd management practices, we explore what is driving BRD today and what steps we need to take to stay ahead. This episode of Have You Herd? is sponsored by Merck Animal Health as part of their sponsorship package for the opening reception at the 2025 AABP Conference in Omaha, Neb. Merck is also the sponsor of the Merck Bovine Veterinary Student Recognition Award which is the AABP Foundation's scholarship program providing nine students scholarships of $10,000 each. Market influences can impact producers' willingness to provide interventions to manage disease risk. Merck Animal Health partners with Superior Livestock Auction to evaluate the economic impact of providing preconditioning programs for calves including the VAC45 and PrimeVAC programs. The data from 2024 indicates that this preconditioning program added $8.46/cwt compared to non-preconditioned calves. We also discuss beef-on-dairy crosses and labor challenges in our industry that can impact disease risk. Good animal handling, management and ensuring adequate colostrum delivery and vaccination can decrease BRD risk. Our guests discuss evaluating the risk of arrival calves by calculating shrink, backtags, other tags and evaluating manure consistency. Sjeklocha has a goal of less than 6% shrink. Technological advancements have also played a role in disease monitoring and improving calf health while optimizing labor resources. Veterinarians can play a key role in monitoring disease, providing goals, evaluating records, and training producers and caregivers how to manage stress and improve handling and management of calves. HOSTS: Miranda Reiman and Mark McCully GUESTS: David and Carol Medeiros Starting out as first-generation Angus breeders wasn't easy, but David and Carol Medeiros were determined to make it work. In the tough agriculture climate of the 1980s, they balanced off-farm jobs, raising kids and managing cattle near Denair, Calif. With teamwork and hard work, they grew their operation and partnered with the Dal Porto family to launch an annual production sale — now the second-longest running Angus sale in California. While their vision of the ideal cow has remained steady, their business has evolved, including the expansion to a ranch in the Nebraska Sandhills. In this episode, David and Carol share their story and how they're now helping the next generation of Angus families build dreams of their own. GUESTS: David and Carol Medeiros own and operate Rancho Casino, in both Denair, Calif., and Purdum, Neb. They both grew up in the agriculture business, and the Angus herd began with David's first 4-H heifers that he showed during high school. David earned and Carol both earned degrees from Cal Poly State University, where they made connections that helped them in their career. Carol is a certified public accountant and was a partner in her own firm until they sold it a few years ago. The pair raised three children on the ranch in California, and now split their time between the home location there and the ranch they acquired several years ago in the Sandhills of Nebraska. Their goal remains to raise maternal, high -fertility, low -birthweight cattle that get “better every year.” SPONSOR: Ready to see how Vermeer can help you get more done in a day? Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for August 27, 2025 is: nebulous NEB-yuh-lus adjective Nebulous is a formal word used to describe something that is difficult to see, understand, or describe—in other words, something indistinct or vague. // A lot of philosophical concepts can seem nebulous at first, but a good instructor can cut through the jargon and help students see how they apply to day-to-day life. See the entry > Examples: “[Rob] Harvilla began to notice the blurred lines of late-Nineties genres as he produced his podcast 60 Songs That Explain the ‘90s and while writing its corresponding book. ‘The late Nineties were a weird, transitional wasteland,' he says. All of these genres that had such stark lines in the Nineties have now become a more nebulous concept, blending into one supergenre of just ‘Nineties music.'” — Brittany Spanos, Rolling Stone, 21 July 2025 Did you know? Nebulous may sound otherworldly—after all, it's related to nebula, which refers to an interstellar cloud of gas or dust—but its mysteriousness is rooted in more earthly unknowns. Both words ultimately come from Latin nebula, meaning “mist, cloud,” and as far back as the 14th century nebulous could mean simply “cloudy” or “foggy.” Nebulous has since the late 17th century been the adjective correlating to nebula (as in “nebulous gas”), but the word is more familiar in its figurative use, where it describes things that are indistinct or vague, as when Teju Cole wrote of an avant-garde photographer who viewed photography as existing “neither in the camera nor in the printed photograph, but in a more nebulous zone.”
The Supreme Court hears arguments today in three cases challenging President Donald Trump's effort to end birthright citizenship. Lower courts have blocked the president's order, which he signed on his first day back in office. However, the primary debate in court today will center on something else: the legality of nationwide injunctions, or when a lower-court judge single-handedly puts a government policy on pause nationwide. These rulings have been instrumental in blocking some of the president's most egregious policies. Washington State Democratic Attorney General Nick Brown, leading one of the cases in today's hearing, talks about what's at stake. And in headlines: Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy told lawmakers, 'I don't think people should be taking advice, medical advice from me;' the CDC reported drug overdose deaths dropped significantly last year; and Omaha, Neb., elected its first Black mayor.Show Notes:Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday
