There are conversations that seem to happen at the very edge of what language can do. This is one of those. Stephen Jenkinson has spent decades working in what he calls the death trade. Sitting with the dying, bearing witness to the end of life in ways that most of us spend our whole existence carefully avoiding. He wrote about it, spoke about it and then, just over two years ago, he walked into a neurologist's office expecting reassurance, and walked out with a Parkinson's diagnosis, and, as he puts it, never really walked out at all. The man who entered that room didn't survive the encounter. What you are about to hear is what came next. Stephen began writing on the day of his diagnosis, not intentionally, not as a craft, not as therapy, and not for anyone in particular. He wrote because he didn't know what else to do. He wrote the way a person writes when nothing has survived the news. And out of that wreckage came his new book, Trembling Still, a necklace of memory shards, improvised words, and ruptures so acute that even the editing team at his publisher were dumbfounded by what they read. He refused to rehabilitate it. He preserved the dumbfoundedness. Because to clean it up, he said, would have been to tell the wrong story. We speak about what it means when the diagnosis is about your brain, not your liver or your kneecap, but the seat of you. How that forecloses any possibility of distance. How you can get used to anything, and why that realisation is both a mercy and a devastation. About isolation so acute it was almost devilish. About the version of himself that never left the neurologist's office. About hope, and why he remains persuaded that hopefulness and hopelessness have more in common than what separates them. And then, somewhere in the middle of all of this, something extraordinary happens. A conversation about the end of a life becomes a conversation about the quality of attention we bring to whatever life remains. About what it means to abide, even trembling. About whether the skills we develop across a lifetime of doing the work still hold in the moments we cannot afford to waste them. I found Stephen's book laugh-out-loud funny in places, and devastating in others. But the thing that stayed with me longest was something harder to name, a shimmering aliveness underneath the grief. The kind that only comes from someone who is genuinely grappling, in real time, on the page, with what it means to still be here. This is not a conversation about getting better. There is no getting better. But it is, in the most unexpected way, a conversation about what it still means to show up. Come with your full attention. The storm is not the end of the story. Through the story of Jesus calming the storm, Edwin reminds us that God doesn't always remove the storm, but He is present in middle of it. Storms can become rainbow, a story of hope for others. “In The Eye Of The Storm” message by Edwin Koh at The Evolution, on 21 June 2026 at 3pmFor more information, visit: https://www.theevolution.org/You can also follow us on Instagram: @theevolutionfam and @theevolutionyouth

When everything feels chaotic and out of control, this visualization gives you one powerful tool: become the calm in the storm. The more frenzied things get around you, the more centered you can become. Use it in the moment, or practice it here so it's ready when you need it most.[Remastered 2026. Eye Of The Storm: The Power of Stillness #RTTBROS #Nightlight"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10There's an old story about a rescue team in the Swiss Alps that every guide and mountaineer knows well. Back in the early 1900s, a group of hikers got caught in a dense fog on a mountain pass. Visibility dropped to almost nothing. Panic set in, and the group began scattering in different directions, each person certain they knew which way led to safety. By morning, two of them had wandered off the trail and into danger. But one hiker, an old shepherd who happened to be with them, just sat down on a rock, pulled his coat around him, and waited. When the fog finally lifted, he stood up, looked at the landscape for about thirty seconds, and said, "This way." He walked out without a single wrong step. The ones who ran nearly got themselves killed. The one who sat still made it home.I think about that story a lot, especially in the middle of the hard seasons. You know the ones I mean. The season where everything feels like a fog, where you can't see which way is forward, and every instinct in you is screaming to do something, anything, just move. And friend, I have to tell you, I have made some of my worst decisions in that kind of fog. I'm too soon old and too late smart on this one.God says something to us in Psalm 46:10 that runs completely against the grain of every self-help book ever written. He says, "Be still, and know that I am God." Not be strategic. Not be proactive. Not hustle harder. Be still. Now I don't think He's telling us to be passive about life. But I do think He's telling us that there are moments when the most spiritually powerful thing we can do is stop, sit down on that rock, and trust that the fog will lift. Because it will. It always does, when we are trusting the One who controls the weather. In my years as a chaplain, I've sat with people in some of the darkest fog they'd ever faced. And I've noticed something. The ones who fight the fog, who thrash against it and demand answers right now, often end up more disoriented than when they started. But the ones who learn to be still, who say "Lord, I don't know the way, but You do," those people find a peace that genuinely passes understanding.Be still. Know that He is God. The fog will lift.Let's pray: Father, when we can't see the path ahead, quiet our anxious hearts. Teach us to be still before You, trusting that You know exactly where we are and exactly how to bring us home. In this message, we explore the profound truth that our faith is often forged not on the mountaintops of miraculous provision, but in the dark, exhausting stretches of life's storms. Drawing from the account of Jesus walking on the water in John 6, we are reminded that Jesus sometimes purposefully sends us into difficult seasons—not to abandon us, but to stretch our spiritual muscles and challenge our limited comprehension of who He truly is. We see that when we reach the end of our own strength, having rowed until we are completely spent, Jesus reveals Himself as the great "I Am," transcending our natural paradigms and proving He is bigger than any circumstance we face. Pastor Carl's heart's desire for us is that we would not just admire Him from a distance or hold Him at arm's length, but willingly invite Him into the very boat of our lives, trusting that His presence transforms our journey and immediately brings us to the destination He has appointed for us.Referenced Scriptures:Psalm 40John 6:1-15John 6:16-21Psalm 23Exodus 3Psalm 107
In this episode, I discuss a conversation I had with a group of preschool and pre-K teachers about creating your own peaceful space within the chaos.
When everything is falling apart… how you react determines everything. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down one of the most important traits of elite leaders—emotional control under pressure. Because let's be real… Chaos is guaranteed in business. Servers crash. Clients complain. Deals fall through. But the difference between leaders and amateurs? Leaders stay calm. In this episode, you'll learn: Why your emotional state controls your entire team's performance How reacting emotionally destroys authority and trust Why slowing down is the fastest way to solve problems How calm leadership creates stability in chaotic environments Because your team doesn't follow your words… They follow your energy. And when you stay composed under pressure… You become the anchor everyone relies on. The strongest leaders don't panic. They pause. They think. They execute. Your Network is your NETWORTH! Clean energy isn't just good for the planet, it's good for your wallet. Solar and wind are now the cheapest power sources in history. But too many politicians would rather protect billionaires than help working families save on their bills. Real change starts when we stop allowing the ultra - rich to write our energy policy and run our government. Let's choose affordable, renewable power. Clean energy means lower costs, more freedom, and a planet that can actually breathe. Promote Celtic culture through music at http://celticmusicpodcast.com/. IRISH & CELTIC MUSIC PODFEST AND ARTS MARKET This is a one - day music festival and arts market that will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at The Lost Druid Brewery in Avondale Estates, GA, 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta. There are four bands performing at the festival. I am performing one show solo and one show with May Will Bloom, where my daughter takes the lead. Kinnfolk will join us as well as I mentioned last week. But the final band performing at the festival is a 3 - piece version of The Muckers, our local Celtic punk band. That will complete our lineup. Follow our event page on Facebook for more details. Or Follow us for Free on our Patreon page. Now my next goal is to raise $2500 so that all of the bands are paid a decent wage and to promote our first - ever Celtic festival. To that end, I added three new rewards for Kickstarter. Each is a chance to sponsor individual bands at the festival. When you do, you'll get one of the first album pins from each of these amazing Celtic bands. That's because we are highlighting album pins at the festival as well, as another means to promote the music of bands. Our album pins are wooden lapel pins themed to a particular album released by a band. The buyer gets a digital download of the album, then they can wear their album! There's just 8 days left on this Kickstarter. So please make a pledge to support Celtic culture through music. THANK YOU PATRONS OF THE PODCAST! Because of you, this podcast exists. Because of your generosity, we release new episodes almost every week. You make that possible. Truly. Your support does more than pay the bills. It keeps Celtic music moving forward. "Marketing at Meta - The View From the Eye of the Storm"A CMO Confidential Interview with Alex Schultz, the Meta CMO and VP of Analytics, and author of Click Here: The Art & Science of Digital Marketing and Advertising. Alex details why he believes in decentralized analytics and the importance of focusing on core results vs vanity metrics, why AI is a "threshold technology", and why and how the company transitioned to Meta. Key topics include: the barbell distribution of AI competency (native users and very senior experienced leaders); why he believes so strongly in "incrementality measurements"; how he and his team handle the emotional impact of being in the center of political discussions and; why marketers should be thinking about 2027. Tune in to hear a story about affiliate marketing incentives gone wrong and the eBay/Google "Tea Party" incident. What's it really like to be CMO at one of the most scrutinized companies in the world? In this episode of **CMO Confidential**, host Mike Linton sits down with **Alex Schultz**, CMO and VP of Analytics at Meta, for a wide-ranging, unfiltered conversation on marketing leadership inside the eye of the storm. Ooh-wah-ah-ah-ah!!! This week we head into the Eye Of The Storm as we review and rank Immortalized, the riotous sixth studio album from Disturbed! After an indefinite hiatus in the early 2010s the band roared back onto the scene with this surprise record in 2015, featuring iconic moments like The Vengeful One, the ballad-adjacent The Light, and an unforgettable cover of The Sound Of Silence. Sucker punch hooks and powerful vocals keep the album moving, but did the band play it too safe by sticking to their tried-and-true formula?Connor first recommended Disturbed's Evolution to James half a decade ago. It was a solid record, but scored low on his ranking list. In the Year Of Redemption, Connor's hoping a more lively record can Fire It Up and recalibrate James' opinions. We'll talk about the band's rise to greatness, David Draiman's decision to walk from a six-figure salary, and learn about the secret reunion that led to Immortalized! The Mixtaper is brewing up facts about a wrestling wife, defenestration, and a four-year follicular fakeout. Can Disturbed Open Our Eyes or have we Saved Our Last Goodbye for the latest of Connor's picks?Have you ever been to Oconomowoc, WI? Did we even get close to saying that one right? Did you recognize that gurgly sound? Let us know in the comments or on social media! Christmas often brings anxiety, worry, and pressure—but God offers something greater: peace in the middle of the storm. From Mary and Joseph to the shepherds, fear surrounded the Christmas story, yet God's response was always the same: “Do not be afraid.” This Christmas, choose peace, live in the present, and receive the gift only Jesus can give.

Description:Today's guest is someone who instantly made an impression on Jen when they met at a recent Hello Sunshine event in LosAngeles, when she moderated a Shine Away panel with Jen and beloved 9010 star and recent For the Love guest, Jennie Garth. Within five minutes Jen thought, “Okay… she's one of us.” Warm, sharp, steady — Kanika Chadda-Gupta has this grounding presence that makes a whole room exhale. An award-winning former CNN journalist and producer, Kanika built a thriving career in television news before motherhood rerouted her life in the most profound way. Born in India and raised in the U.S., her story is braided with themes so many of us know intimately: immigration and bicultural identity, the expectations women inherit, the invisible labor we carry, and the endless negotiation between ambition, caregiving, and our own becoming. Today, Kanika is the creator and host of the beloved Total Mom Sense podcast, where she distills her lived experience — raising children while caring for aging parents, navigating mental and emotional load, reinventing purpose in midlife — into practical wisdom for women who are doing it all and feeling all of it. In this conversation, we talk about what happens when life asks us to reevaluate our pace, our priorities, and the stories we've been handed about success. We discuss staying rooted inside seasons of huge responsibility, finding yourself in the middle of caregiving, and reclaiming a sense of agency and identity in motherhood and beyond. If you've ever felt stretched thin between generations, pulled in every direction, or unsure how to follow your own calling while caring for everyone else — Kanika's clarity and compassion will feel like a deep breath. This one's for all of us standing at the intersection of who we were, who we are, and who we're still becoming. Thought-provoking Quotes: "I like getting the gold star from all of my teachers. I did all the AP classes. I hung out with my teachers at lunchtime. We had open lunch, and it was like you could go to McDonald's, or you could go across the street to the pizza place. But I would go sit with Ms. Townsend, my biology teacher, and just kick it.” – Kanika Chadda-Gupta "It may be, the only headlights that you see heading to the eye of the storm are the first responders and the reporters. And I thought, I want to be in the eye of the storm. I belong here. I need to be here. I need to prove myself. And so then I stayed.” – Kanika Chadda-Gupta "I was most surprised by how your kids will make you face your childhood trauma head on. My dad and I get along great now, but when we were younger, he would say things that really just shot my self-esteem. And those are the first things that come up when my kids do something wrong and I'm like, wow, I gotta reframe." – Kanika Chadda-Gupta Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Hello Sunshine Shine Away Conference 2025 – https://shineaway.hello-sunshine.com/event/eddb3575-ec80-4812-a371-354c900d7cbf/summary Jim Gaffigan, comedian – https://www.jimgaffigan.com/ Mom Brain with Hilaria Baldwin and Daphne Oz - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mom-brain/id1438292826 Guest's Links: Website - https://kanikachaddagupta.com/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/kanikachaddagupta/ Twitter - https://x.com/KanikaChadda Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/kanikachaddagupta/ Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgkOq_AmLsvu6YJsKglQvSw TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@kanikachaddagupta?lang=en Pinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/kanikachaddagupta/ Podcast - https://kanikachaddagupta.com/podcast/ Connect with Jen!Jen's Website - https://jenhatmaker.com/ Jen's Instagram - https://instagram.com/jenhatmakerJen's Twitter - https://twitter.com/jenHatmaker/ Jen's Facebook - https://facebook.com/jenhatmakerJen's YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/user/JenHatmaker The For the Love Podcast is presented by Audacy. As Hurricane Melissa intensifies toward Category 5, Florida families are facing more than just the storm, they're facing Washington's gridlock. Congressman Jimmy Patronis (R-FL-1) joins Steve Gruber to warn that Chuck Schumer's shutdown is putting lives and property at risk by freezing the National Flood Insurance Program right in the heart of hurricane season. Drawing on his experience as Florida's former Chief Financial Officer, Patronis explains why Washington's political games could cost Floridians everything, and why local leaders can't wait for D.C. to act. They also dive into what's next for the shutdown, the chances of government reopening before the election, and how redistricting could reshape the political landscape.
