We're finally here at the end Swinub's journey with it's final evolution, Mamoswine! Some might argue that it's an unnecessary addition while others counter that it's so big and strong! Follow along with the entries below: Diamond & Pearl: Its impressive tusks are made of ice. The population thinned when it turned warm after the ice age. Platinum: A frozen one was dug up from soil dating back 10,000 years. It woke up to much amazement. HeartGold: A frozen MAMOSWINE was dug from ice dating back 10,000 years. This Pokémon has been around a long, long, long time. SoulSilver: It flourished worldwide during the ice age but its population declined when the masses of ice began to dwindle. Black & White 2: When the temperature rose at the end of the ice age, most Mamoswine disappeared. Sword: This Pokémon can be spotted in wall paintings from as far back as 10,000 years ago. For a while, it was thought to have gone extinct. Shield: It looks strong, and that's exactly what it is. As the weather grows colder, its ice tusks grow longer, thicker, and more impressive. BDSP: Its impressive tusks are made of ice. The ice age is over and the climate has warmed, so this Pokémon's population has thinned. Legends Arceus: This species reached its zenith during the period known as the ice age. I suspect that Hisui's frigid climate is in harmony with Mamoswine's constitution, thus awakening hidden potential. Photodex: The cold of the snowfields has hardened Mamoswine's icy tusks, making them strong enough to withstand even Beartic's claws. Swinub must feel much safer when they're with Mamoswine. BTB: Remember when it got warm? That was bad news for Mamoswine who is partially made of ice somehow. But you can't keep this giant pig elephant down becuase it looks so, so strong. It's your finally here! Episode 250 of Beyond the Ball featuring our favorite AND yours, Swinub! The little ice pig that could. This one's got it all! Anime Corner? You know Team Rocket's gonna be up to some real shenanigans this time. Esoteric references? Of course! Complaining about capitalism? Wouldn't be BTB without it! And, of course, Pokedex entries! All of which you can read below: Gold: It rubs its snout on the ground to find and dig up food. It sometimes discovers hot springs. Silver: If it smells something enticing, it dashes headlong off to find the source of the aroma. Crystal: It uses the tip of its nose to dig for food. Its nose is so tough that even frozen ground poses no problem. Ruby & Sapphire: SWINUB roots for food by rubbing its snout against the ground. Its favorite food is a mushroom that grows under the cover of dead grass. This POKéMON occasionally roots out hot springs. Emerald: It roots for food by rubbing its snout against the ground. Its favorite food is a mushroom that grows under dried grass. It occasionally roots out hot springs. Diamond & Pearl: It loves eating mushrooms that grow under dead grass. It also finds hot springs while foraging. Platinum: It has a very sensitive nose. It can locate mushrooms, berries, and even hot springs buried under ice. Black & White 2: Rooting the tip of its snout into the ground, it searches for food. Sometimes it even digs up a hot spring. Legends: Arceus: Swinub excels at sniffing out mushrooms buried beneath grass or snow. Since ancient times, the people of Hisui have often relied upon this skill. New Pokemon Snap: Swinub have an excellent sense of smell, which helps them find things buried in the snow. Whenever they go somewhere dangerous, Mamoswine are sure to go with them. Scarlet: It searches for food by digging into the ground with its snout. Even frozen ground doesn't give it any trouble. Violet: It rubs its snout against the ground, digging through the soil as it searches for food. Sometimes it digs up hot springs. BTB: An epic little pig orblet, living a life of ease eating truffles and soaking up hot springs. A lifestyle to aspire to surely.
May is a great time for celebrating critter catching games! Our first entry for Monster Menagerie May takes us to the land of Hisui, where David and Cassandra come to talk about Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Just make sure to watch out for the red-eyed Bidoof. What are the odds that Josh Fjelstad, Brooklyn podcaster, would be friends with a renowned slug scientist, who studied at KNOWN medical school, Cornell University and studied THINGS including SLUGS once? Pretty low, honesty, but here we are. We're joined for our finale in ol' Hisui by friend of the show and friend of the us, Mike LeVine. And YES, he does have a PhD and NO it's NOT in slugs. This is it for our little sweeties Doug Farmer and Soren though! So long, slug-lovers!
I guess, uh… I guess we're done here, folks. Honestly, kinda came out of nowhere but seasons over and show is over and our souls are locked in old Hisui forever thanks to the actions of Doug Farmer and Soren. Let's at least get one last Fur Affinity Check in for old time's sake, right? Please tell our families we loved them. And tell Melli we hated him.
Doug Farmer and Soren may not know how they got to old Hisui, but they certainly know what they're doing now that they're there, and what they're doing isn't very nice. Members of the Survey Corps live by the 3 C's: Catalogue, Capture, and Kill (It's a dialect thing, it doesn't translate well.) – and these two do so with such ruthless efficiency that they're accidentally wiping out whole evolutionary lines. Next in their sites: A lovely, frenzied ballerina Lilligant that can't be allowed to see the light of modern Sinnoh.
It's a new year and it's a brand-new game (to them) neither of the boys has ever touched—a truly open world, unknown & unexplored new land called Hisui. Except wait it does seem to have some striking similarities to the world they explored in the last game. We'll have to get to the bottom of that. And who better to do it than through Josh & Tanner's definitely completely original and in no way related to previous characters in the EXP. Share universe? Meet your would-be champions (or whatever they do here in Hisui) for our jaunt through Pokémon Legends: Arceus, as we navigate new mechanics, new trainers, and their first challenge of getting a Kleavor to settle down. En este episodio platicamos de la nueva temporada de Pokémon Go. Cambios en PvP, eventos de navidad, cosas heladas y muchas noticias del Pokeverso multiversal.
We're taking a trip back to the Hisui region/era as we continue our investigation of Zorua by discussing its Hisuian form this episode! Turns out folks had way more beef with Zorua than we thought! Follow along with the Pokemon website here and the entries below: Legends Arceus: A once-departed soul, returned to life in Hisui. Derives power from resentment, which rises as energy atop its head and takes on the forms of foes. In this way, Zorua vents lingering malice. BTB: It got wronged by everyone so hard it came back from the dead to torment everyone with resentment-powered illusions. Still pretty cute though. Vote! In early 2022 we were almost 26 years into Pokemon's existence as a francise when Pokemon: Legends Arceus released for Nintendo Switch on January 28th. Pokemon is famous (or notorious?) for its formulaic gameplay design and Legends Arceus is one of several entries over the years that bucks that trend to try out something new. Throwing out the gyms and badges structure for a more free-form, exploration and collection focused experience that injects a healthy dose of modern game design into the tried and true Pokemon formula. Recently, Bryan and Josh travelled to the Hisui region of Pokemon's distant past to explore a captivating, if sometimes underwrought open world. Pokemon has deviated in genre before, but Legends Arceus hews closely enough to the core franchise to invite some interesting comparisons, so join the guys on their journey to determine what makes Pokemon: Legends Arceus an interesting, if flawed entry into the Pokemon series.Three Word Reviews:Josh - An Oversized ExperimentBryan - A Successful ExperimentHere is the ‘highest grossing media franchises' list…. Not sure what Josh was referencing in our post-outro discussion, but it was too entertaining to cut - Bryan

Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's 101st lesson on Pokémon biology. Today's class is all about Electrode, the Ball Pokémon (Sphere Pokémon in Hisui) and evolved form of Voltorb. So if you've never seen an Electrode before, just imagine a Voltorb... but flipped over. And that's it! Electrodes love some good, yummy electricity. So much so that their fascination with power plants has been known to cause frequent blackouts. Electrodes are also known to explode at the slightest stimulation. Sometimes, they do it just for fun - the scoundrels! There's much more to learn about Electrode, including its electric/grass type Hisuian variant, so be sure to take good notes! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.
It's time to talk about one of Braden's faves and a real cool customer, Sneasel! Join us as we discuss the Sharp Claw Pokemon, the problematic representation of Dark type Pokemon, Taggerung and more! Follow along with the entries below: Gold: Its paws conceal sharp claws. If attacked, it suddenly extends the claws and startles its enemy. Silver: Vicious in nature, it drives PIDGEY from their nests and feasts on the eggs that are left behind. Crystal: This cunning POKéMON hides under the cover of darkness, waiting to attack its prey. Ruby & Sapphire: SNEASEL scales trees by punching its hooked claws into the bark. This POKéMON seeks out unguarded nests and steals eggs for food while the parents are away. Diamond: It feeds on eggs stolen from nests. Its sharply hooked claws rip vulnerable spots on prey. Pearl: It is extremely vicious and will not stop attacking until its foe is incapable of moving. Platinum: A smart and sneaky Pokémon. A pair may work together to steal eggs by having one lure the parents away. Black & White 2: A smart and sneaky Pokémon, it makes its opponents flinch by suddenly showing the claws hidden in its paws. Sun: It has a cunning yet savage disposition. It waits for parents to leave their nests, and then it sneaks in to steal their eggs. Moon: It uses its claws to poke holes in eggs so it can slurp out the insides. Breeders consider it a scourge and will drive it away or eradicate it. Ultra Sun: They will cooperate to steal eggs from the nests of bird Pokémon, but fights break out to determine which one gets to eat the eggs. Ultra Moon: It blends into the dark of night to ambush its prey. Sneasel will attack Sandshrew, but its hard skin can cause Sneasel's claws to snap off. Legends: Arceus: This Pokémon shares roots with the Sneasel of Hisui, but unlike that species, this one is spiteful in personality. I hypothesize that water and earth can affect Sneasel's mind and body. BTB: It loves to eat eggs and it's trying its best to get them, and it could do without the judgment thank you very much. Hello there! Welcome to Professor Jacob's one hundredth lesson on Pokémon biology. Wow! What an achievement! To celebrate, we are doing nothing special whatsoever. Today's lesson is all about Voltorb: the Ball Pokémon. Originally believed to just be an electric type, new research has uncovered an electric/grass variant from the ancient Hisui region, where it was called the Sphere Pokémon. And if you couldn't tell already, Voltorb is basically a Poké Ball with eyes. Now, which came first: the Poké Ball or the Voltorb? Researchers are still trying to figure that out. There's much more to learn about Voltorb, so take plenty of notes! And thank you, dear students, for listening to 100 lessons! Welcome to the World of Pokémon is part of the Poke Casters Network.

When the unnamed character wakes up on the shore of Jubilife Village, and no memory of how they got there, they become quickly recruited by the Galaxy Expedition Team, a group of individuals dedicated to surveying the vast dangerous lands of Hisui in an effort to study the ferocious and feared creatures known as Pokemon. Now, it is up to them to uncover the mystery of the Hisui region, learn about the Almighty Sinnoh, and to catalog the behavior of each Pokemon to create the region's first Pokedex. In today's episode, I review the newest mainline Pokemon game, Pokemon Legends: Arceus. How much does this game reinvent what fans have come to expect? What works well and what doesn't? February is upon us, and so is Dying Light 2, OlliOlli World, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which in fairness, came out in January. But Chris Hyde is back from holiday to talk about holidaying in the Hisui region of Legends, while Lyle, Adam, and Chris White have been playing OlliOlli World. Of course, most of us have also been playing Dying Light 2, as well.
The title is brought to you by Dooley Welcome to Pokémon GO Podcast! Charles and Joe are here with another gut-busting episode full of laughter and information. To paraphrase one Ms. Gia Gunn "This is a place for (Pokémon) Legends, okay?"This week, we're joined by our friend (and composer of our theme music) Connor Marsh (he/him) to discuss Pokémon Legends: Arceus— the latest entry in the Pokémon franchise that brings a much needed breath of fresh air to the long-running series of loveable monsters. A prequel to Pokémon Diamond & Pearl (Laurence's favorite Pokémon entries of all time), Legends Arceus is set in the Hisui region— a land of the distant past that will one day come to be known as the Sinnoh region— where humans and Pokémon have not yet learned to cohabitate.Abandoning the series' typical structure of hunting down 8 Gym Badges, you are instead tasked with going out into a series of open environments and compiling the region's first ever Pokédex by catching and battling Pokémon seamlessly in the game's overworld. We discuss the game's bold new approach for the series, its various quality of life and gameplay changes, how it draws heavily from games like Breath of the Wild, Pokémon GO, and New Pokémon Snap, and we share our all of our thoughts on the good, the bad, and the ugly (graphics) of this delightful video game. Also in this episode, we discuss Sony's acquisition of Bungie, the New York Times' acquisition of Wordle, and we share what other games we've been enjoying when we're not busy catching hundreds of Pokémon! ========Be Our Friends!!EMAIL US at gayforplaypodcast@gmail.comFOLLOW G4P Twitter: @GayForPlayPodInstagram: @GayForPlayPodTwitch: twitch.tv/gayforplaypodSupport the Show on PATREON========CREDITSIntro and outro music by Connor Marsh (@connorjmarshmallow)Show art by Nick Adams (@nickadams.art)Special thanks to our patrons: Blueberri Mary, Elijah Punzal, Trevor McTavish & Martha Turner

First off, audio quality is not ideal in this episode. Me and fen are recording in the same room on two mics and we haven't worked out the kinks yet. Anyway,We've been ill for so long, and finally, cheerful Kohaku is here to give us our legally and ethically questionable medicine. The final route in the Far Side has arrived! We already know her biggest secret from the end of her sister Hisui's route, but now we get to ask ourselves “How will it all go wrong?”Next episode will cover days 7 through the end of the Kohaku route! But, as we say in this episode, the wrap up discussion where we go over the route as a whole and our thoughts on it will be in a separate, shorter episode.Section Timestamps:Day 1: Inversion Impulse I - 14:45Day 2: Inversion Impulse II - 44:36Day 3: Inversion Impulse III - 1:03:59Day 4: Cradle Garden - 1:16:06Day 5: Cain I - 2:12:11VI: Future Vision Future Death - 2:59:20Day 6: Cain II - 3:07:19Wrap Up - 3:59:24Featuring co-hosts Benn Ends (@bennends) and fen (@fenic_fox)Content warnings for discussions of: Violence, gore, child sexual abuse, sexual assault, careless handling of depictions of mental health, incest, sex scenes involving underage characters, misogyny, death, and suicide.Cover art by Benn Ends, Intro music by Benn Ends, Interlude music and outro music taken from Tsukihime.
We close out the Hisui route with not the longest episode yet! Why do Hisui give us that spooky look sometimes? What the fuck was up with Kohaku in the kitchen that one time? Which maid is which even? We'll find it all out today! Our special guest Peregrin returns! We recorded so long that fen fell asleep at the end! We're all having a great time here at Fate/ Moon Archive, as we move to the final route in the game, the sunshine-y maid Kohaku!Next episode will cover days 1 to 6 of the Kohaku route! Hisui. The quiet, unassuming maid. She's been waiting for her chance for so long. And now, it's finally her turn. Romantic lead, and center of attention. No one can take the spotlight away from her this time. And, I'm sure that no maids were harmed in the making of this route, right?Right? Also, we have a guest this episode, our first ever! Waypoint community member and renowned Touhouist, Peregrin! They'll be hanging out for the Hisui route to appreciate maids and unpack the incredible amount of baggage this route brings with it.Next episode will cover days 7 to the end of the Hisui route. That's right! To make up for last time we managed to cram a whole route into two episodes. Brace yourself, cuz the latter half of this route's a doozy.Section Timestamps:Prologue - 10:56Day 1: Inversion Impulse I - 19:07Day 2: Inversion Impulse II - 1:03:12Day 3: Inversion Impulse III - 1:40:18Day 4: Cradle Garden - 2:04:21Day 5: Killer I - 2:51:34Day 6: Killer II - 3:22:26Day 7: Shikiller (Fake day, it's a bad end) - 3:50:30Day 6: Killer II (cont.) - 3:56:54Outro - 4:21:37Featuring co-hosts Benn Ends (@bennends) and fen (@fenic_fox), and guest starring Peregrin (@TerrificBRoth)Content warnings for discussions of: Violence, gore, child abuse, sexual assault, careless handling of depictions of mental health, incest, sex scenes involving underage characters, misogyny, death, and suicide.Cover art by Benn Ends, Intro music by Benn Ends, Interlude music and outro music taken from Tsukihime.
The Akiha route finally comes to a close with this doozy of an episode. We've got it all folks: Sick magic powers, wasted potential, and some of the most awkward pillow talk we've ever seen— to say nothing of the sex scene dialogue itself!Next episode will cover days 1 - 6 of the Hisui route.
