Why should we believe Jesus is from God? There are a lot of reasons. One is fulfilled prophecy. Over 60 different prophecies were made about Jesus, some hundreds of years before his birth. For many, Jesus did not have control over them, such as where he was born, who his ancestors were and how he died. Yet Jesus fulfills the prophecies. Was it just coincidence? Far from it! The odds of Jesus fulfilling just 48 of the prophecies has been calculated. But before we talk about that, we need to understand the number trillion. Do you know how big a trillion is? It is the favorite number of the current U.S. government for spending. It seems they always want to spend a trillion or two more. So, how much money is a trillion dollars? If you spent a million dollars every day since Jesus was born, you would not yet have spent a trillion dollars!1 A trillion is a big number! So, now let's talk about the odds of Jesus fulfilling 48 of the 60 prophecies about him by chance. That number has been calculated as 1 chance in 10 to the 147th power2. That is 1 chance in 10 million, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion! Talk about a big number! Talk about the odds! Jesus' fulfillment of prophecy did not happen by chance! God made it happen! Scott Leonard, "Leonard: Why I believe Jesus rose from the dead," Vail Daily, April 20,2019,

Judy Scott - Leonard, Marianne, and Me: Magical Summers on Hydra... with TRE´s Ger Sweeney
"Leonard, Marianne, and Me" chronicles forty years of Judy Scott's frequent summers on the Greek island of Hydra with a diverse artistic community and her friendship with singer-songwriter and poet Leonard Cohen and his legendary muse Marianne Ihlen. This memoir, based on Scott's notebooks and journals, includes incidents in their lives and their relationship to one another—at a point when it was changing forever—that have never been discussed before. As Cohen himself observed of this book when Scott sent the manuscript to him for his approval: "I particularly admire the detail and honesty of the piece." One of the more unique features in this recounting is the emerging acknowledgment the author confronts of her own sexuality, as she writes: "It did not take long for Leonard to recognize that I was more attracted to Marianne than I was to him, though I came to love him too in the end."The book also describes Hydra in the early 1970s in great detail—a unique place filled with astonishing physical beauty and an incomparable atmosphere of serenity and peaceful energy. The island contained a small foreign community of like-minded creative souls, artists, musicians, writers, and their supporters and admirers. As Scott explains, "Hydra in the late '60s and early '70s was at its creative zenith. Like Paris in the '30s, Harlem in the '40s, Greenwich Village in the '50s, San Francisco in the '60s—Hydra in the '70s was the place to be."The memoir, though it centers on Scott's most important, most impactful interactions with Leonard and Marianne, also contains several portraits of other Hydra habitués, all members of the same small ex-pat community, all close friends (and occasional lovers) of Leonard and Marianne, all uniquely interesting in their own right. Leonard, Marianne and Me is a story of a special time, place, and cast of characters—a travelogue of an enchanted island as it was back then and still is to this day, backlit by the glow of Leonard Cohen and his muse, Marianne.Purchase a copy through Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Leonard-Marianne-Me-Magical-Summers/dp/1493059769Songs Discussed In This Episode: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5PADkdaxWT5Q1Y3Ob3e6Pm?si=a89280a7c2e74f30The Booked On Rock Website: https://www.bookedonrock.comFollow The Booked On Rock with Eric Senich:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/bookedonrockpodcastTWITTER: https://twitter.com/bookedonrockContact The Booked On Rock Podcast:thebookedonrockpodcast@gmail.comThe Booked On Rock Theme Song: “Whoosh” by Crowander [ https://freemusicarchive.org/music/crowander]
