Hannah Murray will start by looking at the bestseller lists on Amazon.co.uk and The Sunday Times, the oldest and most influential book sales chart in the UK, and seeing what new entries there are. Jane Corry started her career in women's magazines, while writing romantic fiction. Her marriage ended on the same week as her long-term column came to an end, and through financial necessity, she applied for the post of writer in residence at a high-security male prison - a role which she came to relish despite the fears that came with it. The experience helps inspire many of her bestsellers. Her latest novel 'My Sister's Secret' is a gripping and emotional suspense about two sisters and the dark past that binds them. Mark Billingham has twice won the Theakston Old Peculiar Award for Crime Novel of the Year, and was recently awarded the Crime Writers' Association Diamond Dagger for an outstanding lifetime contribution to the genre. His novels have sold in excess of 6.5 million copies. Two TV series have been made of his books including Thorne, starring David Morrissey. 'The Shadow Step' is his latest DS Declan Miller novel Alyson France grew up on the Isle of Man and trained as a lawyer. In the early 2000s she moved to Spain, which re-ignited her passion for writing, and inspired her to finish a book she started writing over 30 years ago. 'When the Tide Turns' is a story of belonging, womanhood, and the cost of reinvention, touching on family, friendship, and the nature of platonic love. ...Ed Needham is the Editor and Publisher of Strong Words Magazine who has been a regular contribute to the Book Show for 6 years! This is his last regular chat with us, as he has sadly had to close the magazine. It was David's wish that any money from his estate was spent on publicizing his number one passion in life - his writing. 'Tales for My Dog' is a collection of short stories about the human condition, and 'In the Beginning' is a stage play about good verses evil. David Spear joined us on the Book Show a few years ago to talk about his book 'Our Man in Estepona' He is back with us to talk about his trilogy of novels

What if the legends of submerged cities, land-making witches and sea-crossing bishops are not mere inventions but echoes of real events? Whispers from Celtic Seas revisits coastal traditions from the Celtic fringes of northwest Europe, showing how they preserve memories of dramatic environmental change – floods, land loss and shifting shorelines – carried forward through oral storytelling for generations. Drawing on cutting-edge geological and archaeological research, this book recasts these tales not as fantasy, but as historical testimony grounded in lived experience. With clarity and insight, it also brings to life the tellers and collectors of these stories, tracing how oral knowledge endured even as literacy spread. A compelling invitation to listen again to old stories, and to hear what the land and sea remember.Catch Giles live - 'Let's Talk' - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - from 10.00CET...on tre.radio
