Tennessee freshman transfer Brandon Huntley-Hatfield announced his decision to transfer to Louisville last Sunday, just one day after his visit to the Cardinals' program. He averaged 3.9 PPG and 3.0 RPG last season with the Volunteers and will be relied upon to be a solid rotational option in the Cardinals' front court for Kenny Payne next fall.Louisville freshman big Roosevelt Wheeler announced his decision to return to the program over the weekend. The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 1.6 PPG and 1.7 RPG in minimal action last season coming off of an Achilles injury. Like Huntley-Hatfield, Wheeler will be relied upon to provide significant rotational minutes next season.Overall, the Cardinals' front court is likely filled for next season, but may add another big man in the portal. Sydney Curry will start along with one of Huntley-Hatfield/Jae'Lyn Withers. Louisville standout Sydney Curry announced on Wednesday that he would be returning to the men's basketball program for the 2022-23 season. An offseason with Kenny Payne and an improved roster around the 6-foot-8 big man will allow him to reach the next level in terms of production. Payne has quickly prioritized two 2022 recruits in five-star point guard Skyy Clark and four-star small forward Devin Ree. The Cardinals are right in the mix for the former, who is an advanced three-level scorer and shot-creator. The latter is a name that Louisville fans have become familiar with in the past 48 hours; Ree's perimeter shooting strengths would make a solid addition to the team. The Louisville women's basketball team faces an uphill battle in the Final Four against #1 South Carolina; the Cardinals will need to limit Aliyah Boston's production, take away second-chance opportunities, and shoot the ball well.
