Dalton discusses what losing linebacker Monty Montgomery means for the Louisville Cardinals' defense next season: the coaching staff will need to address the need in the transfer portal and the remaining players will need to step up significantly. Dalton also explains why he believes Jeff Brohm and company should work to create a recruiting pipeline into Ohio, especially around Cincinnati. The area consistently produces top talent and the Cardinals' program hasn't done a great job of recruiting the state. He also discusses two new offers out to Ohio recruits: four-star DB Aaron Scott Jr and three-star DL Ted Hammond, and why it is critical for Louisville to get both on campus in the spring ahead of their senior seasons. Even with two key decommits, the coaching staff have done an exceptional job at keeping FlyVille23 together and addressing needs in the portal. Wisconsin running back Isaac Guerendo transferred to Louisville last week; Dalton explains why he likes the move for the Cardinals: a power running back that brings solid depth and position competition to the roster. 2024 four-star tight end Dylan Mesman included Louisville in his top-10 list cut; Dalton believes his pass-catching and route-running abilities combined with his size and athleticism would allow Mesman to succeed in Brohm's offense. Grading the regular season for the 2022 Louisville Cardinals: offense, defense, overall team

Dalton gives out grades for the Louisville Cardinals' football team at the end of the regular season. Offense: C injuries, consistency issues, play-calling, and passing game struggles combined throughout the season to create issues for the Cardinals' offense. In almost every statistical category, Louisville ranked in the middle of the pack or worse. Defense: A The Cardinals had one of the best pass rush units in the country, while also being extremely solid in the red zone. Top-20 in points-per-game allowed, Louisville consistently won games, mainly due to the defense. The unit had its struggles in coverage and stopping the run, but for the most part the defense rose to the occasion. Overall: B or B- Despite having a top-20 strength of schedule, Louisville was expected to have a season filled with significant success because of the returning talent in 2022. The team struggled out of the gate to a rough 2-3 record, but was able to turn it around and win five of the last seven. Seven wins was Dalton‘s expectation heading into the season, but it was clear that the team underachieved at times. Defeating ranked teams such as Wake Forest and NC State was solid to see at the end of the year, but it was evident that Louisville could've done more at the beginning. Jawhar Jordan and Maurice Turner both having solid ends to this season is extremely encouraging for the Cardinals. Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Caleb Banks also entered the transfer portal on Sunday. Banks did not see much action in 2022 despite being talked about significantly in the offseason. Dalton discusses the Louisville Cardinals' 26-13 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats in the Governors cup in the regular season finale. The Louisville offense was successful in running the football, but the continued struggles in the passing game proved to be costly. The Cardinals were unable to consistently move the ball down the field through the air and a couple of missed opportunities only led to the team putting up 13 points. Dalton explains how the Cardinals' defense put up a performance that was good enough to win the game. It wasn't a perfect performance considering the big plays given up and the lack of pressure on UK quarterback Will Levis, but only giving up 26 points on the road to Kentucky was a respectable outing. Offensively, the Wildcats leaned on the rushing attack and quick passing to combat the Louisville pass rush. Extending drives in the first quarter will allow the team to build momentum throughout the duration of the contest. 2) Set the tone in the trenches offensively With the uncertainty at quarterback mixed with going up against one of the nation's top rushing defenses, there is considerable emphasis on a solid performance from the Cardinals' offensive line. 3) Wreak havoc in the opposing backfield The Cardinals have one of the nation's most disruptive pass rushing units; true freshman quarterback MJ Morris is battling injury and his status is questionable for Saturday. With the early national signing day for high school football quickly approaching, the 2023 Louisville football recruiting class is still looking to add multiple members. One possible prospect is top-500 ATH Edwin Joseph. Being recruited as a defensive back, Joseph would be a huge addition to the Cardinals' secondary. He currently holds offers from Miami, Penn State, Auburn, and others. The South Florida native made an official visit to the Louisville program last weekend. In the second segment, Dalton breaks down the Louisville women's basketball team's 87-68 season-opening victory over Cincinnati. He explains why the backcourt duo of Hailey Van Lith and Morgan Jones is going to be a tough one for opposing defenses to handle. There is not much to take away from this performance other than it is way too early in the season to form conclusions and it is just a matter of shaking off the rust. At the end, Dalton conducts the weekly mail bag. Title Sponsor- BetOnline Today's Episode is brought to you by BetOnline. After a tough start to the season, the Louisville Cardinals are now bowl-eligible following JMU win!

Dalton explains why he believes the Louisville defense has been the biggest reason why the team has won the past four games. The increased attention to the pass rush has allowed the Cardinals to improve production as a whole. Despite the offense still not being at the level it needs to be, the unit has made strides throughout the past handful of games. The 34-10 victory over the James Madison Dukes on Saturday evening was a display of overall dominance. Louisville racked up nearly 500 offensive yards while limiting JMU QB Todd Centeio to only 52 passing yards. It wasn't a perfect performance, but it was good enough to get the job done in a comfortable manner. Star quarterback Malik Cunningham tied Lamar Jackson for the most touchdowns responsible for in a career in Louisville football program history (119). Dalton argues that despite Jackson reaching the number in fewer seasons, the fanbase still needs to celebrate Cunningham's accomplishment. After five years of waiting, the University of Louisville basketball program finally received punishment for its 2017 case involving Brian Bowen. Dalton explains why the IARP decision was the right one due to many reasons (lengthy process, recruiting impacts, etc.). 2024 point guard TJ Robinson committed to the Louisville basketball program this past week. Dalton explains why he believes Robinson will rise in the recruiting rankings and could be a solid player for Kenny Payne in the future. In the final segment, Dalton previews the upcoming football matchup between Louisville and the James Madison Dukes. This is a game that the Cardinals should win convincingly, but cannot take the opposition for granted. Running back Tiyon Evans and defensive back Quincy Riley are the players to watch on Saturday, with both coming off huge performances against Wake Forest. Louisville's huge win over #10 Wake Forest has a big impact on Scott Satterfield's job security

Dalton explains how the Louisville Cardinals' win over #10 Wake Forest over the weekend helped Head Coach Scott Satterfield increase his job security. With that being said, the job is still not finished and more success needs to be had before the conclusion of the year. He then goes on to explain that while the win over the Demon Deacons is a huge one, the team needs to carry that momentum forward into the rest of the schedule. If the team were to go on a losing skid to finish the season, the momentum gained throughout the past couple weeks would be nullified. In the final segment, Dalton conducts the weekly mail bag. Dalton is joined by Off the Walz podcast cohost Brian Trent to discuss the upcoming women's basketball season for the Louisville Cardinals. The duo explain why this year's squad could end up being better than last year's with the additions of Morgan Jones, Chrislyn Carr, Josie Williams, etc. Next, Dalton and Brian identify their breakout candidates for the returning players: Payton Verhulst will likely step into a larger role as a prominent scorer off the bench and Liz Dixon will be relied upon to increase production around the basket on both ends of the court. Finally, they discuss expectations for all of the newcomers. Florida State transfer Morgan Jones will likely be an all-ACC selection. Syracuse transfer Chrislyn Carr and Utah Valley State transfer Josie Williams will both see important roles. Nyla Harris is be the true freshman that will probably see the biggest role of the incoming class. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Dalton explains why the Louisville Cardinals' victory over #10 Wake Forest was the biggest in Scott Satterfield's head coaching career, and how it couldn't have come at a better time. The win gets the team one step closer to bowl eligibility, increases job security for Satterfield, and upholds the recruiting and on-the-field momentum.
