There's no secret they love him as a quarterback prospect, but he's not the lock of a pick people might think at 20th overall in the first round. Mike Tomlin, Kevin Colbert and several of the top Steelers brass watched Willis throw, which is unusual for the Steelers with a small school. The Steelers typically show who they really like among first round picks with how their visits trend before the NFL Draft, like how they did with Najee Harris and Devin Bush. But Willis is a different prospect, as is Kenny Pickett, because quarterbacks go for much higher prices.The Steelers aren't trading up this year for either quarterback, as neither are sure-fire homerun quarterback picks and the team's roster need several rookie additions across the board this year. Instead, expect the Steelers to stay put in the first round and pick whatever star player falls to 20th overall like Jordan Davis, Devin Lloyd, Andrew Booth Jr., Derek Stingley Jr., or Chris Olave.Meanwhile, the Steelers could learn how to not handle drafting a rookie quarterback in the first round by looking at the Cleveland Browns and how Baker Mayfield can't be traded right now. Rumors are still floating the safety Tyrann Mathieu is in the mix and Cam Heyward is pushing to turn that into a reality.But should the Steelers still be looking at signing a cornerback who could be CB1 for the team? Ahkello Witherspoon and Joe Haden are both still free agents, but so is Stephon Gilmore. Could Colbert and Tomlin be looking to make one more splash at cornerback or safety?And, Tomlin, Brian Flores and the Steelers' brass showed up in a big way to look at the Georgia Bulldogs' Pro Day. Stars like J.C. Jackson, Carlton Davis, Bobby Wagner are available, but so are key offensive linemen like Ryan Jensen, Terron Armstead and Brandon Scherff. What's the most important target for Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin? They'll also need to take a look at whether the team should keep pending free agents like Ahkello Witherspoon, Terrell Edmunds and Joe Haden.Cornerback becomes a very important investment, and it may become the biggest move of the offseason to make the Steelers' defense elite again in their efforts to compete with top receivers like Ja'Marr Chase. But fixing the offensive line has to be a priority, and that's why signing at least one veteran offensive lineman with pedigree should be of importance to the Steelers.Linebacker becomes tricky with a big name like Wagner, but other players like Josey Jewell and Leighton Vander Esch also come into play. That impacts the Pittsburgh Steelers' draft plans, potentially pushing down other stars to them. Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jahan Dotson, Christian Watson and Skyy Moore were among the receiver standouts. But those impressive 40-yard dash times could make it easier for the Steelers to get star prospects at other positions like Devin Lloyd, Tyler Linderbaum, Kenyon Green, Ahmad Gardner, and more.Also, Malik Willis and Kenny Pickett led the quarterback showings along with Desmond Ridder, Sam Howell and Carson Strong. But who showed the best strengths? The problem is, each has glaring weaknesses and no pick is a homerun selection at 20th overall. But their strengths could still make them worthy of the pick, and may even get them picked by other teams before the Steelers get the chance.
