Chris Date and J.P. Holding join us to have a debate on the nature of Hell.
Join Devin & Melissa Pellew as they discuss topics related to biblical theology, Christian apologetics and worldview issues. This week we will be re-airing a debate we hosted on July 15, 2014 on the topic of Hell. Is Hell a place of conscious eternal torment for the wicked after death or is Hell the annihilation of the wicked after death? Joining us to defend the position that Hell is a place of conscious eternal torment for the wicked was Nathanael Taylor, graduate of Biola University (theology), Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div) and Talbot School of Theology (philosophy). Defending the position of Hell as the annihilation of the wicked was Chris Date, contributor at RethinkingHell.com and host of the Theopologetics podcast. Do the lost cease to exist after the Judgment or will they suffer eternal torment? Join us during this friendly cross-fire debate to hear the arguments.
Join Devin & Melissa Pellew as they discuss topics related to biblical theology, Christian apologetics and worldview issues. This week we will be hosting a special debate episode on the topic of Hell. Is Hell a place of conscious eternal torment for the wicked after death or is Hell the annihilation of the wicked after death? Joining us to defend the position that Hell is a place of conscious eternal torment for the wicked will be Nathanael Taylor, graduate of Biola University (theology), Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div) and Talbot School of Theology (philosophy). This week's show: Chris Date is the host of the Theopologetics podcast. Until recently he believed in Hell as a place of never-ending punishment. But now he has become convinced that the Bible better supports an annihilationist view - that the damned will, in most respects, cease to exist. Steve Jeffery is Pastor Of Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Southgate. He holds to the traditional view that those in hell continue to be eternally conscious of their punishment. They debate the nature of hell. Is annihilationism a heresy? What is Gehenna? Does the 'fire' of Revelation comsume or ruin? What did Jesus say about it?
