Send a textProbably very few, if any!, use the word, "pneumatology," in everyday conversations; but it's a word we should know, because, "pneumatology," is the study of the Holy Spirit! We spend a good amount of time studying and learning about God the Father and Jesus the Son, but often, we can neglect studying the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit. Of course, He is God and part of the Trinity, but He has many distinctive roles in salvation, sanctification, and sealing. Join us as we begin a two-part mini series on, Who we affectionately call, "The Multitasker!"Thanks for tuning in! Word of the Day | PNEUMATOLOGY by GospelBells
On our 400th episode, we continue our ongoing exploration of the earliest Trinitarian. This week, we study the massive work written by a Roman Christian named Hermas, titled "The Shepherd." After demonstrating that Hermas believed God to be one person (the Father alone), we attempt to make sense of the work's obscure Christology and Pneumatology. Spoiler alert: the Shepherd of Hermas does not teach the doctrine of the Trinity. We continue our series on the recent academic journal issue "Contemporary Worship Music and Intergenerational Formation" with authors Revs. Drs. Angela and Jeremy Perigo. In this episode, we explore what it might mean to take our Pneumatology more seriously when it comes to including children in the musical worship leadership of the congregation. One outcome is that we see children as equal members in the kingdom of God. We also see that welcoming children is a way of welcoming the kingdom. The Perigos challenge us to consider how the full inclusion of children is not an _age_ issue but a _Spirit_ issue. How might we be limiting the gifts of the Spirit when we limit the participation of children?Read the full article, "Poured Out on Your Sons and Daughters: Pneumatologically Shaped Pedagogical Practices for Engaging Children in Congregational Worship" by Angela and Jeremy here: https://www.mdpi.com/2077-1444/16/2/243
In his sermon, Mike discusses the importance of living with both consecration and captivation, framing them as essential postures for experiencing God's presence and power in our lives. He emphasizes that true maturity in faith requires a childlike wonder and an expectancy of God's movement, highlighting the need for believers to invite God into every area of their lives. Mike shares impactful anecdotes to illustrate how we can actively engage with God and others, urging the congregation to break free from cynicism and busyness, which often dulls their spiritual sensitivity. Ultimately, he encourages everyone to cultivate a lifestyle of anticipation, being fully open to the revelations and amazing works that God has in store for them.

George explored Paul's claim that the power that raised Christ lives in us too (Romans 8:11) . How can we take seriously the idea that this actual presence, this gift of God's life, is with us right now? Perhaps through the sacred and holy act of breathing.SLIDE GEORGE READ IN OUR GATHERINGIf whatever God has made and loves is holy, then life is holy in itself, and to live life with love and joy means sanctifying it. The experience of God deepens the experiences of life. We sense the exhilaration of existence, the unfathomable intensification of life, and the will to live. Life in the spirit is not a religious and moral restriction of life and its enfeebling reduction. It is a new delight in living in the joy of God. —Jürgen Moltmann, The Spirit of Life

We are coming to understand that as the Holy Spirit shares with us His obsession with Yeshua, that obsession delivers us from the susceptibility of preoccupation. We become free from preoccupation when we yield to a superior obsession. The Homestead Mobile - September 7th, 2024

Reformed Brotherhood | Sound Doctrine, Systematic Theology, and Brotherly Love
In this episode of the Reformed Brotherhood Podcast, Tony Arsenal and Jesse Schwamb delve into the profound significance of Christ's ascension. They discuss how the ascension offers a preview of believers' eschatological hope and ultimate glorification. The conversation emphasizes that, in the final state, believers will be with God in a real and direct sense, mirroring Christ's ascension to the Father's side. Tony and Jesse explore theological insights from the Westminster Larger Catechism, highlighting how Christ's resurrection and ascension serve as a composite event that previews the eschatological final state. They discuss the concept of being "caught up to Christ in the clouds" and how this ascension signifies the eventual full and eternal communion with God. This discussion underscores the importance of understanding and meditating on these theological truths, which are not just abstract ideas but real promises that impact daily Christian living. The episode also touches on the role of the Holy Spirit in believers' lives, explaining how the ascension of Christ means that believers are already seated with Him in the spiritual realms. This concept is further elaborated through the idea of being "fully interpenetrated" by the Holy Spirit in a way that transforms daily actions, thoughts, and emotions. The hosts provide practical reflections on how these profound truths should influence the life and community of believers. Key Points: The ascension of Christ offers a sneak peek of believers' eternal status with God. Insights from the Westminster Larger Catechism highlight the eschatological significance of the ascension. The role of the Holy Spirit in believers' lives is emphasized, showing how the ascension impacts daily Christian living. Questions for Reflection: How does the ascension of Christ influence your understanding of the final state of believers? In what ways can meditating on Christ's ascension and the role of the Holy Spirit transform your daily life? What practical steps can you take to incorporate the theological truths discussed in this episode into your community fellowship?
Gregg Allison joins the podcast to talk about his journey of faith and ministry and his theological work on the Holy Spirit. He discusses common misperceptions about the Holy Spirit, encouraging believers to think about the Spirit as the greatest gift God gives to his children. In what ways do we make the Spirit the potentiator of our own works? How can we listen to the guidance of the Spirit? What does it mean to preach in step with the Spirit? All this and more on this new episode.
