Is Homosexuality Normal? In this episode of Bible and Theology Matters, host Paul Weaver sits down with Dr. Rosaria Butterfield to discuss the first lie addressed in her book Five Lies of Our Anti-Christian Age: “Homosexuality is Normal.” Drawing from her background as a former tenured professor of English and Women's Studies, a scholar of critical theory and queer theory, and a former LGBTQ activist, Dr. Butterfield explains why the concept of homosexual orientation as an immutable identity is a modern invention, not a timeless reality. She traces its roots to 19th-century thought, engaging figures such as Freud, Marx, Darwin, and Michel Foucault, and contrasts these ideas with a biblical anthropology grounded in Scripture. Dr. Butterfield shares her powerful testimony of conversion to Christ, explains how the shift from behavior to identity has reshaped cultural and ecclesiastical thinking, and warns Christians against adopting the moral language and ideological categories of the secular left—including terms like sexual orientation, cisgender, pronouns, and sexual minority—which ultimately undermine the gospel. This conversation also addresses:• Why homosexuality as an ontological category contradict biblical teaching• How language functions as ideology, not neutrality • The dangers of parachurch compromise and theological drift • Why repentance—not rebranding—is essential for faithfulness• How the church can love prodigals without surrendering biblical truth• Why real hope requires change through Christ, not affirmation without transformationThis episode is a must-watch for Christians seeking clarity, courage, and compassion in a confused cultural moment.

America First cannot exist without Christianity first—not as a buzzword, not as branding, but as the moral and cultural foundation of who we are. Today, we're discussing the recent passing of Pope Francis. As a Protestant, I don't hold to Catholic doctrine, and I've had some serious theological issues with the papacy—but that doesn't mean I won't stop to reflect when someone steps into eternity. In this episode, I'm praying for Pope Francis' soul and hoping he had a deathbed conversion—because no one is beyond God's reach. I also hope Catholics choose a biblical pope next time, not one more interested in pleasing the world than honoring the Word. We'll talk about the things he did right—his care for the poor and moments of humility. But we'll also look at the dangerous things he got wrong:Promoting open borders that have devastated countries and erased traditionSaying all religions worship the same God (they don't)Claiming the human heart is good (the Bible says it's deceitful above all things)Ignoring original sin and the fallen nature of manThis is a respectful but honest take on a figure who meant a lot to many—but who, like all of us, needed Christ above all.--https://noblegoldinvestments.com/

Is Dispensationalism just an innovative idea from the mind of John Nelson Darby? Dr. James Fazio returns to the Bible and Theology Matters podcast to answer that question and more. In November, Dr. Fazio and I were at the Evangelical Theological Society, which is a gathering of evangelical professors and scholars from all over the world. Well over 2,000 are in attendance each year. Various scholarly research papers are presented, after which dialogue ensues. Dr. Fazio presented a paper that addressed the old accusation that Dispensationalism is new, novel, sometimes even called a theological innovation that was masterminded by John Nelson Darby.
