God's timing is perfect. It may not always feel this way, but may I encourage you with a gospel verse? This Sunday, we are going to study Romans 5:6-11. These verses are pregnant with spiritual life. Paul starts out reminding us that while we were weak, this weakness is not about physical strength, but moral strength. You could paraphrase, while we were morally disabled, just at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly.

Paul continues through his exhortation, that in light of the liberty and unity that Christ has purchased and brought us into, as a church, by His precious blood and so called to love, forgive, and serve as we have been loved. "Love thy neighbor," is the calling of those redeemed by grace and a large component of that sanctified temperament is to welcome all of those who call Christ Lord, for they are our brothers and sisters in Christ, even those who are weak or immature with regards to the doctrine or practice of the Word of God. Ultimately, our welcome is grounded upon the principle that we are not the ultimate standard of righteousness between men, but the Word of God, nor do we sit in ultimate judgment, but Christ, who is King and Judge of all men. Paul Axton preaches: The theological reason for the death of Christ should begin with the historical reality of what killed him and what he defeated in his death and resurrection; namely Israel, Rome, the law, and the principalities and powers behind the reification of death and law. Christ Died for Our Sins
04-13-25 Biblical Literacy Marks continued the study of the book of Romans by focusing on Chapter 1 vs 16 & 17 and Paul and his family life long movements and the influence that each of the places he lived and the influences each location had on his life, his person and influences on his character. God died for our sins. The most simple thing about the Gospel is Christ Died for our sins. The most profound thing about the Gospel is Christ died for our sins. Paul grew up in Tarsus, which was a major intellectual center and traveled the area as a child and as a God- fearing adult. Those travels shaped his persona and his deep belief and praise for the Christ that he came to know beyond well. Mark focused On: The literary context of Romans 1:16-17 Dissecting Romans 1:16-17 The Impact of Romans 1:16-17 Good writing habits were discussed relative to the introduction content, omit needless words, brevity, completeness, conciseness, while focusing on each word. The lesson continues with the techniques that are needed to deliver an argument that is clear and lucid, briefly set forth in a methodical way, and have the following qualities, brevity, completeness and conciseness. Mark discusses, in detail, the use of the key words in Romans 1:16 & 17, Gospel, Power and Righteousness. Get Ready for Easter Weekend; “For the word of the Cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being Saved it is the POWER OF GOD” 1-Cor 1:18
Message from Joseph Tchombela on April 6, 2025
Why did Christ die on the cross? Was it just to save us from hell? Was it just so our sins could be forgiven? Was it just so that we might be justified in the eyes of a holy God? Was it to bring us into a covenant relationship with himself? Yes! Yes! Yes! And yes! All that and so much more. Listen to what scripture says about this from 2 Corinthians 5:11-15.

The good news of the gospel is that Christ died for the ungodly—not just for the obviously self-destructive but also for the subtly sanctimonious. The challenge for older-brother types like me is this: will we cling to our self-righteousness like a weapon, or will we lower our defenses, unclench our fists, and step into the celebration?

What is the reason for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ? What significance do these things have for us today?
Dr. Mitchell continues in 1st Peter 3 verses 21 and 22. In this context, Peter is writing about Jesus Christ. Here in chapter 3 verses 18 thru chapter 4 verse 1, Peter is writing about Jesus, His death, burial, resurrection and His seat at the right hand of God with angelic beings having been made subject to Him. Dr. Mitchell explains what this baptism means in verse 21 as it speaks of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Then in verse 22, we see Jesus in heaven seated at the right hand of God. He is seen as having all angelic spirits subjected to Him. Jesus is in charge of all angelic beings. They are ministering spirits sent out to minister to the believer, as Hebrews chapter 1 verse 14 tells us. Join Dr. Mitchell on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast in 1st Peter 3:21.

Episode 177 Perhaps most people paying close objective attention to fatal police interactions with black citizens would roll their eyes whenever Benjamin Crump gets involved, but today we will discuss two such incidents where the officers involved may actually be wrong and Crump's involvement, while not ideal, is understandable. In May and July of 2024 respectively, Roger Fortson and Sonya Massey were killed in their interactions with the police. What were the circumstances that led to their deaths? Were the killings justified? In today's episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast, we will discuss these questions and more, never forgetting that Fortson and Massey were both souls for which Christ died. What is a woman? This question has come up more than probably necessary. Or at least been answered in ways…that make you scratch your head. While I have many opinions on the subject of what makes a biological woman, this isn't about that. I am a woman, born and raised. I have never questioned that fact, but I have wondered about purpose and place. All I ever wanted was to be a wife and mother. I am a #tradwife. I subscribe to the traditional definition of gender roles in marriage and homemaking. I am also a Christian. I believe Ephesians 5:22 is correct and good advice: Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. You may ask how a female in 2024 can believe such misogynistic drivel. Doesn't this set women back believing poppycock like this? I believe Ephesians 5:22 because of Ephesians 5:25-28:Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.See? I am just told to submit. The husbands are given way more direction. It is pretty specific to say love your wife as Christ loved the church. I mean, Christ DIED for the church. That is a lot more responsibility than submission.
