With as "out there" as Geggy Tah's music was, and as clever as their biggest hit "Whoever You Are" was, it would be easy to not take them seriously. The thing is, they were serious about being as creative as possible and seeing what music could be without any borders. The duo of Tommy Jordan and Greg Kurstin produced three albums in the mid 90s that explored songs as if they were found art projects, mixing in whatever instrument or genre worked. After the band ended, Greg went on to form The Bird and the Bee and then became one of the biggest producers in the world while Tommy continued to do his own thing. Here's the story of one of the most delightfully weird bands of the decade! www.patreon.com/c/thehustlepod

In this week's episode we talk about the new `online safety bill` that is being pushed through parliament and has had two readings and is now most probably going to be put in place in the future. In this episode we discuss the bill and what it will mean for internet users in the UK as well as companies that are focused on encryption and privacy like telegram. In this episode we talk about the ethics of this bill to do with things like hate, scammers, misinformation and more. And is this online safety bill counter going to make it safer for people in the UK. Or will it be a tool for the state for authoritarianism to grow and to control the population now and also with future government? And as this is a UK libertarian podcast I have to raise the concerns of how this is going to effect are freedoms in the UK? In this podcast we talk about everything to do with weed. We dive into talking about the history of weed and then the progression of it being used as a material and then consumed. I explain the negative racist propaganda that was done to make weed seem like a bad substance. Talking about the specific time periods and people where this went on and how it is still in place today. Not only that, we talk about how weed compares to alcohol in how it affects your body and mind, citing specific statistics related to death by the two substances and how they compare with each other. We then go into talking about what weed actually does and can it be a helpful tool that can benefit your life in so many ways. Or is it an addictive substance that brings little to know value? I loved making this I found it so fun. I hope you did as well and if you did please consider sharing the podcast as it is one of the only ways the podcast grows :) Follow the Podcast - https://www.instagram.com/regpodcast/?hl=en Follow me - https://www.instagram.com/rory_jacobs_/?hl=en Tommy's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/t.waterss/?hl=en Jordan's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jordwoodman_/?hl=en (00:00) Introduction (01:55) - The history of weed (02:58) - The first recorded use of weed (15:15) - Why weed was thought to be a bad substance? Tommy Jordan is a hip-hop artist, and I feel like he's much more that that. He does a great job of representing himself. so I'm not gonna say more. You know who, depending on who you ask, does a terrible job of representing himself? Me. This episode is full of disclosures I might regret someday. But, it's straight from the heart, and Tommy is a boss. So, please enjoy this fine contribution to podcastry.
