S-Agenda is a 22-year-old DJ whose versatile style and open-minded selections have seen her grow from strength to strength in the past year. Her mixes draw from a range of sonic influences including techno, trance, electro, rave, and house primarily. The thoughtful selector puts particular focus on the fusion of old school with the new, to curate a fresh yet nostalgic sound. Having played piano and violin from a young age, she is extremely passionate about music and aims to carry that through to her sound by infusing uplifting, exciting and unexpected blends into her sets. While DJing since 2019, the young artist solidified herself within the Dublin scene after winning the Skin & Blister x Forbidden Fruit Emerging Artist Call Out last summer. This saw her earn a coveted spot on the festival's lineup and smash a later set at its afterparty, supporting homegrown star Saoirse. Since then, she has confidently played her way across the Dublin clubscape in the likes of Tengu, SoundHouse, The Grand Social, Bowlane, The Sugar Club, Wigwam, Izakaya and Index, where she rang in the New Year on main support for the legendary DART. Her versatile sound has seen her further land on the bill with an array of artists including Floorplan, Sunil Sharpe, High Fidelity, Jennifer Loveless, Ngoni Egan and Mia Lily. She also hosts a monthly show ‘FACE 4 RADIO' on Dublin Digital Radio, where any and all electronic genres are explored by herself and various guest DJs who share her passionate ‘no rules, just vibes' outlook on music. S-Agenda's contribution to the Local Selection Series aims not to fit into one box, oscillating from techno and old-school rave to electro, 90s club and psychedelic trance. She overlays persistent pulsing grooves with a tapestry of melodies to bring the listener on a high-energy and dancefloor-oriented journey through her most loved sounds. While DJing can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, there can still be pressure involved, especially when performing in front of an audience. As a DJ, you may feel pressure to perform well and keep the crowd engaged and dancing. You may also feel pressure to live up to expectations or deliver a certain type of music or style. Additionally, technical issues or equipment failures can add to the pressure of the performance. However, it's important to remember that with practice and experience, the pressure can become more manageable. Developing a strong foundation of skills and techniques, and building confidence through regular performances can help to alleviate some of the pressure.Ultimately, whether or not there is pressure when it comes to DJing depends on the individual and their experiences. While some may thrive under pressure and enjoy the challenge, others may feel overwhelmed and anxious. It's important to find a balance that works for you and allows you to enjoy the experience of DJing.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/we-create-the-vibes-podcast/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Pirate radio, dubstep and documentary filmmaking—the many faces of Heny G. Malcolm Christopher Gustave, AKA Heny G, is a name synonymous with pirate radio and dubstep. Through his own shows and station, he championed a melodic style of the syncopated, sub-bass sound that's since influenced several of the genre's stalwarts. Speaking with Resident Advisor contributor Marcus Barnes, Gustave explains how his love for radio pushed him to champion diverse artists in dance music. Tracing the trajectory of his time in the industry, Gustave describes how he started in pirate radio at the age of 13. Developing an obsession with jungle, garage and house music, he went onto work at Rinse FM during the 2000s when it was still an unlicensed platform. Around that tinme, he also launching his own station, React FM. While DJing and presenting, Gustave fine-tuned his signature style of emotive dubstep. Nine years since the release of his debut album Child Hood, his soulful productions continue to resonate with old and new heads alike, as Barnes points out. Over the past year, Gustave has been working on a documentary called The Last Weekend. Chatting to Barnes about the creative process, he outlines his entry into filmmaking and how the art form has added another layer to his ever-evolving career. Listen to the discussion for the full details.

DJ, Producer and Curator of Hidden, Deepak Sharma has been entrenched within techno for over a decade. Tough, raw and gritty describe the man, his music and label. Perseverance is another word synonymous with Deepak Sharma: an unrelenting passion for music and sharing his sound through a belief so intense, his soul pours out and bears itself within each release and DJ set. Known for a cerebral approach to music, he demonstrates his ethos that DJing is about creating a moment, often through taking crowds on a hypnotic journey and building energy, with a room as one towards a higher peak. While DJing is his calling, his label also requires the utmost care through each carefully curated offering, slowly and steadily building a catalog greater than most accomplishing the rare feat of forty-three releases and counting. Somewhere in all the hoopla, in all the chest beating, all the minutiae, our intrepid warriors Dillon and Dutch fell on hard times. We were in a rut, no place to go, no purpose in our lives per se, and also in the literal sense. It took us to depths you could never understand. While DJing for a barmitzvah, we were approached by a man who gave us a great idea, the kind of idea that only occurs once in most humans lives, but actually happens to us all the time, mostly because we are better than you in almost all ways imagineable. Listen this season as the world's most humble duo ignites a firestorm the likes our prey had never seen before.

Charlie Sanderson) - Max Chapman, Jacky (UK), Charlie Sanderson [FFRR] Q & A with Frank Terry 1.)If you could eternally be stuck in one year's music scene, which year would it be & why? I was alive, but only a year old at the time, but 1981 is when new wave and electronic music was starting to blossom. It was raw, simple, and stands the test of time. 2.) What single night out has been the most memorable for you? As a DJ? As an attendee? As a DJ, I’d have to say opening for Denney this year. It was DVINA’s Valentine’s dDy show, there was a lot of love in the air that night. As an attendee, second to last Justin Martin show at Shady Park, he ended up at the after party I went to. He’s such a cool dude. 3.) What is one track that never gets old to you no matter how many times you play it? I feel every DJ has a track they LOVE, but you obviously can’t play it all the time. I played RitheSim by Bruno Furlan a ton. It played it first in my Campout set. I played it in several sets after that too. It’s super fun, and the lyrics are pretty much the life of a DJ. Had to retire for a little while, last time I played it was at the NYE Walter Productions Block party. 4.) If you could produce a track with anyone right now who would it be? I’m not producing right now, but one day I’d love to collaborate with Sacha Robotti. 5.) What advice would you give to an aspiring DJ? Be grateful. Be patient. While DJing is a fun thing, it’s not always a fun thing. It’s a lot of work, like anything in life. There are lessons you learn along the way that can only come with experience. Sometimes hard lessons are the best ones. Practice, practice, practice. Put yourself out there, go to shows, support your scene, respect your scene and those that came before you. Make time for yourself. Don’t be a dick. 6.) If you could choose any venue or location to perform at where would it be? I’ll go lofty here, Woogie stage at LiB. 7.) What animal best describes you? Is a gummy bear an animal? 8.) Name one thing you do aside from music that keeps you sane? That would imply that I’m insane lol! I play a lot of video games. Smoke weed. I like to think I’m a pretty good at handling the crazy times. I take deep breathes and remind myself it will all be OK. 5.24.18
This mix was requested by Ms. Kira. While Djing at the barbershop ("Opie's Future Image") she requested some house type music. It was there I was introduced to St. Germain by her. This fusion of house with the tribal sound of a "penny" flute made a mix inevitable. I sure hope you enjoy and listen to the end. It ends with a twist.:-) Dj Shizz!
LOVE TAP (NYC) Love Tap is a raver first and a DJ second. He's been steeped in music his whole life with a Dad who worked with Parliament/Funkadelic. While DJing for the last decade he has built up a collection of intercontinental heat: from Midwest house/techno, NY disco/boogie, and he's always on the hunt for an eclectic curveball. Born and bred in Los Angeles and active in the west coast warehouse scene, he recently moved to Brooklyn to absorb the east coast influence and expand his collection. Love Tap’s developed a sound that bangs, grooves, and jacks your body, and he can’t wait to share it with you. Italian but raised between United States and South America, S!LK is our guest for episode 17 of the Gangstercast. Starting his house music career as a producer in 2012 his debut 'Warning EP' was released on one of the most exiting deep house labels, Plastic City. With further releases on DJ Sneak's Magnetic Recordings, Seamless and Elite, as well as upcoming projects for Luna Records, Moodmusic and a vinyl-only project for Seemless Deep, 2013 has been going off with a bang. S!LK can’t be pigeon-holed in any particular genre of house music, but his style is guided by deep and old school influences. Everything he makes in his studio is from scratch and there is never a ready-made sample in sight. While DJing, S!LK's style is more powerful, techy and groovy, while retaining the deep and soulful attitude. S!LK says that his mix for the Gangstercast features, "Only my favorite and most played tracks. Is me and my dirty 909 house side. I was talking with Sneak on Skype from the record store where I was looking for some vinyl - I spotted what I love and it was easy to simply play what I was feeling the most. I recorded it after a night out with the House Gangster Family in Miami in my mind. I was in a very good mood poolside playing these beats with friends and the girl next door called the cops for the loud volume! I explained to the cop that came "I'm a House Gangster!!"" Asked about being a House Gangster, S!LK replies, "It means House Family, and it absolutely means quality people with the right attitude to quality sound. House music means a lot to me. Let's just say that it saved my ass many times in past and is there bright in front of me for the future."
