After relocating from Berlin to Dublin, Seboro has quickly established himself as a driving force in the Irish techno scene. Through his collective, Nocturnal Animals, he has cultivated a dedicated community centred on a signature dark and minimal aesthetic, a movement defined by an unwavering ‘music first' philosophy. 2025 marked a major milestone for Seboro: with two No. 1 EPs on the Beatport Raw Techno charts and debut sets at iconic venues such as Sisyphos, KitKat, and ADE in Amsterdam, he proved his sound resonates well beyond the local circuit. Seboro has also earned regular support slots for international heavyweights, including Marcel Dettmann, Len Faki, Ben Klock, Sama Abdulhadi, Alan Fitzpatrick, and Maceo Plex. With a deep admiration and passion for soundsystem culture and bass, Holly has been present in the scene for the last 2 years, sharing her preferred style of dubby, heavy headcore tracks that she's managed to accumulate during this time. In this short span, she's earned a host of impressive accolades that include playing a range of venues like Wigwam, Tengu, Pawn Shop, Connolly's of Leap and The Roisín Dubh and more across the country. Not to mention spinning for a host of parties like Echo Exchange, Honeypot, Starlight Project, Lost, Intoxica and AMPM too. While also picking up a string of supports for Prozak, Pegassi, Odymel and Juicy Romance in the process. She's managed to make her mark at some smashing festivals such as The Ritual and Fuinneamh Festival more recently. This stellar mix focuses on all things Latin groove, rumbling bass, and footwork-infused hardcore junglist selections. The recording, to put it plainly is buzz-driven, while taking mood, energy and tempo into account throughout. Founder-inspired by Netflix, powered by AI, and tested with lean startup tactics - Dublin's Sunday afternoon clubbing experiment finds its crowd. On Sunday 21st September, Dublin entrepreneur Saoirse Sheridan hosted her pilot Dance Space event at Wigwam, Dublin 1, with Reveller Music on the decks - a Sunday afternoon, alcohol-free clubbing experience. Around 20 people attended, 12 tickets were sold (€205 gross sales), and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants praising the atmosphere, the music, and the novelty of a daytime, booze-free dance floor. Dance Space Pilot in Dublin The spark for Dance Space came earlier this summer when Sheridan listened to Netflix founder Marc Randolph on The Diary of a CEO podcast discussing the power of rapid idea validation. "That really resonated - I had a personal problem: I love the clubbing vibe but don't want late nights or alcohol. Using lean startup thinking, I realized I could test the idea quickly, cheaply, and see if anyone else felt the same," Sheridan explains. The pilot investment To test the idea properly, Sheridan invested about €1,500 upfront in branding, a simple website, and promotion - the basics needed to get the first event off the ground. The pilot itself brought in €205 in ticket sales, with around 20 people dancing on the day. "Yes, it cost me money, but the real goal wasn't profit on the first night. The point was validation: would people actually come, enjoy it, and want more? And the answer, based on the energy in the room, was a definite yes." Fast learning with AI Sheridan leaned on AI tools throughout the process - from drafting the website to preparing event communications. Working with three interns, she was able to move from idea to launch in just a few months. After the pilot, she is now using ChatGPT to review ticketing data and customer feedback in preparation for the next event on 19th October. "It's all about test, learn, and pivot. AI can speed things up, but it's the human response in the room that tells you whether you're onto something," she notes. National attention Ahead of the pilot, Sheridan was interviewed on RTÉ Radio 1's Ray D'Arcy Show, which helped spread the word nationally and brought fresh attention to the idea. Bigger picture: cultural shifts The pilot reflects broader changes in Ireland's social habits. Alcohol consumption has fallen by 30% in the last two decades, and the sober-curious movement is growing, particularly among Gen Z. Wellness is no longer confined to gyms or yoga studios - people are looking for social spaces that fit with healthier lifestyles and Monday morning commitments. Sheridan says Dance Space is part of that bigger picture, but she is also realistic: "For me, this doesn't have to turn into a huge venture to be worthwhile. The real win is testing the idea, seeing people enjoy themselves, and learning from it. That in itself has been very rewarding." Balancing projects At the same time, Sheridan remains fully committed to her main venture, Elder Home Share, a social enterprise matching older people with housemates for support and companionship. Dance Space, she says, is a passion project and a live case study in rapid validation. "This has been a great learning experience. Even if it doesn't become a big long-term project, proving an idea quickly and seeing people enjoy it has been worthwhile in itself," she reflects. Founder's takeaway Dance Space represents not only a new addition to Ireland's wellness scene but also an example of how entrepreneurial thinking and AI tools can lower the barriers to testing ideas fast. Sheridan laughs: "I had a good dance myself, was home for my Sunday dinner, and in bed by 9pm - just the way I like it." Our next edition of the Local Selection welcomes Meath-based DJ and producer LAWRENCE to the series. The fast-rising artist has provided us with a live recording taken from his performance at this summer's Forbidden Fruit Afterparty in Wigwam, which took place in May earlier this year. LAWRENCE has spent the last few years meticulously developing his style as a DJ and producer. This has led him to explore a vast range of avenues that tend to fall under the umbrella of underground as well as commercial-leaning sounds. This open-minded outlook saw him play right across the country in Dublin, Limerick, Carlow, Galway, Wicklow and more. Supporting Max Dean, Luke Dean, LB aka Labat, Sunnysoposted and Ammara during this period. LAWRENCE has consistently toggled between a mixture of club shows and raves, while never straying from his focus that is spinning highly energetic dance music. This presence is much the same when it comes to his productions; depending on the mood and atmosphere, he has constructed a discography that generally covers most soundscapes. Jumping across genres, some of which include house, techno, trance, breakbeat and beyond. He has amassed an excess of 300,000 streams currently, with clearly no signs of slowing down. This success has seen his productions earn notable support from LB aka Labat, Future666, Thelma and Faster Horses. LAWRENCE shared some insights regarding this Local Selection, noting that 'This set was super enjoyable for me, I spent my time in the booth feeling very in control of the crowd and receiving great reactions for each track that was brought forward. With LB aka Labat on after me, I wanted to raise up the energy of the room across my slot - punching in as many heaters as possible. The set lingers as possibly my favourite one to date, and getting to meet some of my heroes in the booth whilst playing was pretty cool too.' “On this day in 1863…absolutely nothing happened,” are the words written on a plaque in Seligman, AZ, a town founded in 1886, and our first stop this week. In Houck, we cross the 77-foot-long Querino Canyon Bridge overlooking the Querino Canyon, before we stay at one of the last surviving iconic Wigwam Motels in Holbrook. Lastly, we stop at a small town that made a short appearance in the 1940 film “The Grapes of Wrath” to buy some souvenirs.

Norway's Melodi Grand Prix 2025:  Saturday, 15 Feb 2025 is the date of Norway's National Final - The Norsk Melodi Grand Prix. Nine acts are battling it out for the ticket to represent Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in May. The lineup includes the Bobbysocks who previously won the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 with the song "Let it swing" and also Wigwam who represented Norway in 2005 with the song "In my dreams". Radio International will introduce the songs of the Norway Melodi Grand Prix on the show this week with Robert Wahlstroem.   Melodifestivalen 2025: Sweden's national final is called Melodifestivalen and is the biggest one in the world of the Eurovision Song Contest. It is the 65th edition and is produced by Swedish broadcaster SVT. 30 entries out of 2794 submitted songs made it to the shows. The 30 entries will take part in the competition across five heats. Each heat consists of six songs, with the top two songs directly qualifying for the final. Unlike in the previous edition, only the third-placing song will proceed to a final qualification round at the end of the fifth heat, which will now feature five songs instead of ten. The top two songs in the final qualification will then progress to the final, which will comprise 12 songs. The winner of the final will be determined by the usual 50/50 combination of votes from the public and an international jury. Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain chapter 23The Duke and the King spend the next day rigging up a stage and curtains and lights, and as night approaches, the tent fills full of people. The Duke does a small introduction, and the opens the curtain. The King jumps out on all fours, completely naked and covered in paint. The crowd roars with laughter and asks the King to perform it another 4 times. After this, the Duke then steps forward and closes the show to angry cries from the audience. The crowd is getting read to attack the King and the Duke, but randomly, an older man stands up and says to the men watching that they should hype up the show so that no one takes the initial crowd for fools for being scammed. This works and the next night the hall is just as full as the first. When the third night comes, the tent reaches max capacity, and all of the audience is hiding things in their pockets, ready to attack the men. Just before he would normally head round the back to go on stage, the Duke turns to Huck and tells him to run like the wind to the raft where they would be safe. They set off, and once in the middle of the river the King crawls out of the Wigwam where he had been hiding the whole time. They raked in $430 dollars.Once the scammers are asleep, Jim asks Huck about kings, and he asks if they are just as bad as the two “nobles” that they have with them. Huck tells Jim about other kings like Henry VIII and how he liked to behead his wives, and he claims that if all these “Nobles” do is scam people, then they are far better off than if they had Henry VIII or Charles II with them. After this, Huck goes to sleep, and Jim doesn't even wake him up for his shift of night watch. When he wakes, Huck finds Jim wallowing about his family, and for the first time, Huck asks Jim about his family. Jim then tells Huck about his daughter, and how he used to be cruel to her because he didn't know she was deaf and dumb.
