True worship matters to Jesus and we see it clearly this week as he clears the temple courtyard of those who were buying and selling animals to be used for sacrifice. The issue wasn't in the business happening, the issue was where the marketplace had formed.

Our God is worthy of worship! Disciples find delight in giving praise, glory, and honor to the only one who deserves it. When we grow in faith, worship flows from our hearts and lips. Every experience of life can be a place for worshiping in Spirit and in truth. When the world sees Christians who celebrate the goodness of God, overflow with joy, and walk in humble surrender, they become curious.
Sunday Morning at Hope Church, Craigavon
The Ark of the Covenant has long captured our imagination, from Raiders of the Lost Ark to documentaries on the History Channel. In Exodus, we learn that God Himself commanded the building of the Ark (Ex. 25:10–22). It was placed in the innermost room of the tabernacle as a representation of God’s presence. For years, the Ark dwelt in obscurity in the house of Abinadab (1 Sam. 7:1). In today’s reading, David brought the Ark into Jerusalem. This chapter provides us with three pictures of worship illustrated by Uzzah, Michal, and David. Uzzah was one of the priests entrusted with transporting the Ark. He decided to “set the ark of God on a new cart” (2 Sam. 6:3). This catches us by surprise. The Law was specific on how the Ark was to be handled. It was to be carried on poles by the priests (Ex. 25:13–14). Uzzah decided to transport it like the Philistines had (1 Sam. 6:7–8). He thought he knew best. As one commentator put it, “Instead of losing himself in the worship of God, [he] has God in a box and officiously assumes responsibility for keeping God safe.” Uzzah’s example reminds us to respect God’s holiness. Obedience is central to right worship. Michal does not worship. She observes from the outside and critiques. She evaluates David’s performance (v. 16). It is easy to be sympathetic with Michal. She had a difficult life. But this passage shows that she did not take refuge in the Lord. Her bitterness kept her from joyful worship. David was wholeheartedly devoted to the Lord. He did not always understand what God was doing (v. 8), but his whole being was oriented toward God, and he danced before Him with abandon. >> Take a few minutes and reflect on your own attitude toward worship. Are you more like Uzzah, Michal, or David? What are the things that hinder you in your worship of God?

Jesus was in constant communication with His Father and prayed for His followers and for those who were still wandering far from fellowship with God. As disciples, praying should be like breathing. We can live in intimate communication with the God who made us and loves us. As we grow in the spiritual marker of passionate prayer, we will find ourselves praying for and with those who still need to discover and embrace the amazing grace of Jesus. The post ORGANIC DISCIPLES: What Does Wholehearted Worship do for God, Us and the World? first appeared on PEACE CHURCH.

In today's episode, Nick and Brigitte are joined by special guest SPOKC Worship Leader, Rachel Noffke, for a tasty conversation about what it means to 'offer God all of our lives for the rest of our lives as a sacrifice of worship.' SPO Charism Value: WHOLEHEARTED WORSHIP We strive to offer God all of our lives for the rest of our lives as a sacrifice of worship. We are a people of worship with a liturgical spirituality, including daily prayer and the sacraments. Our worship of God – communally and not just individually – is essential to our relationship with him, and a natural response of the will to who he is and what he has done for us in Christ. We praise and thank him wholeheartedly and expressively, as our duty and our joy, always for his glory and not our own. Please stroke our egos and leave us a fabulous review on iTunes! University of Michigan football fans call their stadium “the Big House.” When the team scores, the team’s 107,601 fans fill the space with so much cheering and shouting the sound can be overwhelming. One of the reasons why people enjoy watching the college game in person is to experience being part of such an enormous crowd united in the support of their team and celebrating their victories. In today’s text, the Psalmist calls Israel to join in worship: “Come let us sing for joy to the Lord” (v. 1). The Psalmist describes singing, shouting, and making music to God. This is not a service for silent meditation or half-hearted singing. No! This is a full-throated, raucous, and joy-filled expression of devotion to the Lord. God is to be praised with full enthusiasm because He is far above all other “gods” that people worship. The majestic mountains and powerful oceans owe their existence to God. He can hold them in the palm of His hand (vv. 3–5). God is not only the creator of all things, He is also “our God.” He cares for us like a shepherd cares for his flock (v. 7). The only appropriate response is to drop to our knees in humble submission (v. 6). Our worship should be more than just words. God requires wholehearted devotion. The Psalmist reminds Israel of the Exodus generation, who saw God’s power firsthand. This group of people quickly turned their back on God, grumbling against Him (Ex. 17:1–7). They even wished that they had never been redeemed from Egypt. Because of that, God judged them by not allowing them to enter the Promised Land. >> Do you praise God with as much energy and enthusiasm as you give your favorite sports team? God is not content with our expressions of worship just on Sunday morning. He desires and deserves for us to surrender our entire lives to Him.
Deuteronomy 26:1-15 asks the question: What does God want of us? God wants our joyful thanks for his grace, and he also wants our wholehearted obedience. But we can't do this... So what do we do as God's people when we fail and our delight in worship becomes duty? Well, we look to the one who could say with wholehearted conviction the words of Deuteronomy 26. We look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and we delight, we rejoice in our worship for the glory of God the Father, through God the Son, by the power of God the Holy Spirit. Mark Roberts helps us think deeper through these passages in Deuteronomy.

In this episode, Adrian Wilson looks specifically at our practices of worship. Our hearts are shaped by who/what we worship... this is both a beautiful and startling truth! So much more than simply singing songs, when we fix our attention on God, we come away changed, transformed. At the heart of the great commandment, we are called to love God with our whole selves. Come, let's gather together and worship!
For Israel, it wasn’t possible to have true worship without the temple. So failing to rebuild the temple was really a crisis of worship. And God loved them too much to let them ignore his temple and to live their lives backwards and without true, wholehearted worship. He loves us too much to less us lose vision and fall into misdirected worship. He wanted them to build and he wants us to build because he is worthy and because he wants our hearts. He wants us to experience the joy of wholehearted worship. In this message, we see Five Ways to Return to Wholehearted Worship.
