Mike Zuzolo of Global Commodity Analytics joins Jesse Allen on Market Talk for a full breakdown of the August 2026 WASDE and Crop Production reports. USDA pegged corn yield at 180.7 bushels per acre and soybeans at 52.7, both under the average trade estimate, while adding more than a million acres of harvested area to each crop. Zuzolo's own client survey, released the night before, had corn at 181.0 and beans at 52.7. We cover the USDA modeling change that pulled the agency's numbers in line with private survey work, why Illinois and the western Corn Belt did the damage, the same-day subsoil moisture picture, new-crop corn carryout at 1.653 billion bushels, the deleted USDA tweet and the transparency questions that followed, Black Sea shipping and the rumor that pulled risk premium out of wheat, the feeder-corn ratio, USDA's 2.7 percent cut to third quarter beef production, and the cattle-to-S&P correlation flip. Also in Segment Four, we learn about Bayer's new exclusive licensing agreement with RAGT to bring hybrid wheat into commercialization by the early 2030s. Dr. Francis Beecher with Bayer joins us to discuss on the show.

"Letters to Catherine E Beecher in Reply to an Essay on Slavery and Abolitionism" is a compelling collection of thirteen letters from Angelina Grimké that delves into the critical issues of abolitionism and human rights in the United States. Grimké's passionate arguments and eloquent prose illuminate the moral imperatives surrounding the fight against slavery, making her insights profoundly relevant today as society continues to grapple with themes of justice and equality. This collection not only highlights the historical context of the abolitionist movement but also serves as a timeless reminder of the power of individual voices in advocating for change.

Weather with EnthusiasmZmanim, Chicago Storm Physics, and What the Sky Means for Your Day Show NotesToday's episode explores the intersection of halachic prayer times, atmospheric science, and severe weather across Chicago, Baltimore, Lakewood, Brooklyn, and St. Louis. We break down today's Zmanim for June 8, 2026, including dawn, sunrise, latest Shema, chatzo, sunset, and nightfall for each city, showing how geography and season shift the day. The weather discussion focuses on a very active setup in Chicago, where a stationary front, high theta-e, steep lapse rates, high precipitable water, CAPE, weak shear, and ambient vorticity create a serious flash-flood and wet microburst risk. The episode also explains key National Weather Service terms in plain English, including hydro concern, theta-e gradient, lapse rates, P-WAT, shear, vorticity, and shortwave troughs. A historical segment revisits the devastating Beecher, Michigan F5 tornado of June 8, 1953, and explains how that tragedy helped change U.S. tornado warning policy, expand radar use, and build the modern spotter network. The episode closes with practical indoor ideas for Chicago families on a stormy day, including the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, and the Field Museum. ## Hashtags#WeatherWithEnthusiasm #Zmanim #ChicagoWeather #SevereWeather #StormPhysics #FlashFlooding #Meteorology #NationalWeatherService #Halacha #TornadoHistory #ChicagoFamilyActivities #WeatherBriefing [1]Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/weather-with-enthusiasm--4911017/support.Weather with Enthusiasm is produced by Kol Simcha Productions.New episodes drop daily (B'N)— a morning forecast at 7 AM and historical deep dives Tuesdays and Thursdays. Contact: kolsimchaproductions@outlook.comHistorical content is thoroughly researched and factually verified. What if your thoughts were creating physical changes in your body? In this episode, we are looking at the science behind mindset and how your brain, your expectations, and your thought patterns influence your health in very real ways. From negativity bias to the nocebo and placebo effects, I break down the research that shows how your mind impacts stress, symptoms, and healing. You will learn why fear-based thinking feels automatic, how it affects your body, and how to start shifting your thoughts in a way that actually works. This is not about positive thinking. It is about understanding how your brain works and learning how to guide it.   Resources Mentioned: Work with Laura: https://www.thebreastcancerrecoverycoach.com/health  Download the app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/breast-cancer-recovery-coach/id6720763813       REFERENCES Baumeister, R.F., Bratslavsky, E., Finkenauer, C., & Vohs, K.D. Ever wondered what happens when gelato meets a Ferris wheel? Sam and Jeff are back after their Seattle adventure, and honestly, this trip had everything. They nearly missed their 5:30 flight thanks to an airport power outage and an overly chatty 3 a.m. Uber driver who couldn't stop talking about San Francisco rent prices. (Trust me, not the conversation you want at that hour.)In Seattle, they hit Pike Place Market for Beecher's mac and cheese and Greek gelato with exotic flavors, toured Lumen Field home of the Seattle Seahawks, and explored the Pop Culture Museum's impressive collections. The Chihuly Gardens featured stunning glass sculptures, and the Space Needle shot them up in just thirty-eight seconds. Their ferry ride to Bainbridge Island proved delightful and relaxing with beautiful views. But let's talk about that Ferris wheel incident—one speaker's indulgent food choices created an increasingly uncomfortable situation over multiple rotations that required an urgent exit. They also caught a Disney Villains brunch at a queer bar, enjoyed espresso martinis throughout the day, and dealt with a birthday party host who refused to share cake. The chaos, the food, the mishaps—it's all here. Listen to find out which moment almost derailed the entire trip.

Here, author Anna Beecher tenderly shares what brought her to write both her debut novel and recently published memoir, and speaks to: the fragile miraculousness of everything; grief, as a tear in the fabric of the universe; the privilege of aging; and how accepting mortality, as a part of life, is to be more fully alive. Anna is a writer and theatre-maker from the United Kingdom. She is the author of the novel Here Comes the Miracle, which was shortlisted for The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award. Here Comes the Miracle follows siblings in their twenties, Joe and Emily, during the final year of Joe's life, interweaving their story with that of their Grandparents Eleanor and Edward. Anna's second book, the memoir We All Come Home Alive, was published in 2025. A memoir in essays, We All Come Home Alive,  tells the story of Anna's life through the moments which remade her, from car crashes to bereavement to motherhood. Anna's theater work has been presented by venues including Lincoln Center, Young Vic, Southbank Center, and Barbican London.
