The 1001 Classic Short Stories & Tales podcast is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon while searching for well-told stories with quality sound. I was not disappointed in my discovery. Host John Hagadorn has curated a wonderful selection of classic short stories and breathes life into each one with his engaging narration. The production quality is top-notch, making it a pleasure to listen to. The podcast is available on iTunes Podcasts and Spotify, which makes it convenient for listening through different platforms such as Amazon Alexa speakers.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the variety of stories that are featured. From older/classic tales to more modern works, there is something for everyone here. I particularly enjoyed the Wednesday and Sunday two-part episodes, as they kept me eagerly anticipating how the story would progress. The selection of authors is also impressive, with names like O. Henry, Jack London, and Ray Bradbury making appearances. Overall, the storytelling is entertaining and well-read.
On the downside, some reviewers mentioned falling asleep while listening to the podcast due to Jon Hagadorn's soothing voice. While this may be a personal preference for some listeners, it can be frustrating for those who want to finish an episode without interruptions or having to reset their progress every time they wake up.
In conclusion, The 1001 Classic Short Stories & Tales podcast has quickly become a favorite among its listeners. It offers a welcome escape from the news and daily woes with its collection of timeless stories told in an engaging manner by host John Hagadorn.
