In October 2009, the Jamison family—Bobby, Sherilynn, and their six‑year‑old daughter Madyson—set out on a drive into the remote mountains of Oklahoma. They were searching for a fresh start, a quiet plot of land, and maybe a new beginning. Instead, they vanished without a trace.Their truck was discovered days later, abandoned on a lonely dirt road. Inside were their wallets, phones, GPS, coats, and even their family dog—alive but starving. What wasn't inside were answers. For years, theories swirled: a failed land deal, a spiritual crisis, a family dispute, drug involvement, cult activity, or something far stranger. When the family's remains were finally found in 2013, deep in the woods near where the truck had been left, the mystery only deepened. No cause of death. No signs of what happened in those final hours. Just more questions. In this episode, we unravel the haunting timeline of the Jamisons' final days, explore the bizarre clues they left behind, and examine the theories that have kept investigators and armchair sleuths baffled for more than a decade. The Jamison family, comprised of Bobby Jamison (44), his wife Sherilynn Jamison (40), and their daughter Madyson (6), mysteriously disappeared on or after October 8, 2009. Their remains were discovered four years later in November 2013, raising unanswered questions. No cause of death was determined, and the circumstances surrounding their disappearance remain a mystery. The family, hailing from Eufaula, Oklahoma, was considering the purchase of a 40-acre plot near Red Oak at the time of their vanishing. The investigation revealed perplexing details: 1. Their locked truck was found abandoned with their malnourished dog, Maisie, inside, along with ID cards, wallets, mobile phones, a GPS system, and $32,000 in cash. Notably, the family was not known for carrying large amounts of cash.2. A search effort led to the discovery of the Jamisons' skeletal remains, lying face-down in the mountains, less than three miles from the truck. 3. Surveillance footage from their home revealed the couple's unusual, "trancelike" behavior as they prepared to leave. Reports suggested that Bobby and Sherilyn, both thin and emaciated, may have been involved with crystal meth, though no evidence was found. 4. Leading up to their deaths the couple were paranoid and claiming to witness ghostly visions, the couple spoke of hauntings in their home. Music:oprahme Background Music by CO.AG Music"Dark Water" by Infractionhttps://bit.ly/3D1KoG1Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6UContact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comYou can also follow us on our social media accounts:✔️ Instagram ➤ https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteries✔️ Twitter ➤ https://twitter.com/wnmysteries✔️ Facebook ➤ https://www.facebook.com/weeknightmysteries/✔️ Website ➤ https://weeknightmysteries.buzzsprout.com

So, I'm back after a bit of a surprise break again. My bad! Anyway, we're back with another true crime case this week, and it's the mystery surrounding the Jamison Family and their strange disappearance. It happened back in 2009 when the family, Bobby, Sherilynn, and daughter Madyson, packed everything up and went in search of some land to build a home upon. Only they never found the land, and they never returned. It wasn't overly surprising to friends that they vanished as the parents, Bobby and Sherilynn, had issues with substance abuse and drugs. They were also into the occult, which, of course is the actual reason for their vanishing. I hope you picked up the sarcasm there... Anywhoo, the theories about their disappearance are vast and varied. And I'll go over all that in the episode! October 8, 2009. Latimer County, Oklahoma. 44-year old Bobby Jamison, his 40-year old wife, Sherilynn Jamison, and their six-year old daughter, Madyson Jamison, leave their home to go look at a plot of land in a remote mountainous area, but never return. Eight days later, their abandoned pick-up truck is discovered on a dirt road located thirty miles from their residence, but even though the family's dog and many of their personal items are locked inside the truck and a bag containing $32,000 is hidden under the driver's seat, the Jamisons are missing. In November 2013, the skeletal remains of Bobby, Sherilynn and Madyson are discovered in a wooded area less than three miles from where their truck had been parked, but since the authorities are unable to determine an exact cause of death, no one knows what actually happened to them. Were the Jamisons killed by an outside party? Could have they have orchestrated a murder-suicide? Did they simply wander off and succumb to the elements? This week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold” explores a truly baffling case involving the disappearance and death of a family which has yet to find a conclusive resolution. Special thanks to listener Jenny Kapur for narrating the opening of this episode. If you have any information about this case, please contact the Latimer County Sheriff's Office at (918) 465-2161. A family of three goes missing in 2009, and despite an abundance of evidence, law enforcement is no closer to solving this mystery today. In fact, it could even be said that the more clues that are uncovered only result in additional questions.
