Send us Fan MailSeason 17's halfway to the finish line, and the TGTPTU boys are back from break revving their engines, ready for the next four in their “hack” director line-up. Jack's pick coming in third is Ron Howard, starting with his first film in the big chair, the “smash-‘em-up” smash success (for a Roger Corman feature) GRAND THEFT AUTO (1977).  Howard's only feature to co-write or to co-star in as director, the then-Happy Days star cut his teeth on GTA (no relation to the videogame) coming off the success as leading man-boy in the preceding Corman car chase flick Eat My Dust (1976). As part of Howard's deal with Corman, the success of EMD put the boy who once played Opie Taylor in TV's The Andy Griffith's Show in charge of first and second units, stunt coordinators, helicopters, and his kin/fellow actors brother Clint Howard and father Rance Howard—all this on the day after Ron's 23rd birthday.  GTA's plot follows young elopers played by Howard and Nacy Morgan (who might be best known as John Ritter's first wife), who've stolen Morgan's father's Rolls-Royce to avoid the pressure of her pseudo-arranged marriage to a rich dweeb. This theft leads Morgan's father, a prominent citizen about to run for major office, to have his security detail retrieve his car (and daughter). Morgan's jilted dweeb upon learning he's not to be betrothed assumes she's been kidnapped and calls a local radio station to put a bounty on her safe return before stealing a car to give chase himself, causing his wealthy mother to call the same station to offer a separate bounty for her son's safe return. Dabei hilft eine spezialisierte KI dabei, Hintergrundmusik aus alten Serien-Episoden wie GZSZ zu extrahieren und Lizenzen zu prüfen, um das Material u.a. für YouTube nutzbar zu machen.

Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Today, I covered S4E13: The Jailbirds, which aired on January 7, 1989. In this episode, Jamie and Vicki are arrested for spray-painting a wall--and its owner's $60 shirt. This was a fun episode. I love the lesson that Ted and Joan teach Jamie and Vicki also the female cop was played by Jo Marie Payton who later went on to play Harriet Winslow on Family Matters. S4E14: Rags to Riches, aired on January 14, 1989. In this episode Vicki and Jamie invent a cleaning solution. This episode is pretty much a Jamie get rich quick scheme that gets out of hand when he gets in over his head and it only gets worse when he Brandon and Harriet get involved. S4E15: Radio Days, which aired on January 21, 1989. In this episode Jamie produces a radio play about World War II. This was a creative episode, mostly the last 10 minutes was the best part. S4E16: Kid-O-Grams, which aired on January 28, 1989. In this episode Jamie starts up a singing-telegram business. This was a fun episode with the telegram business and the songs that were created were catchy. Vicki and Harriet's outfits at the end were cute.

In 1909 the Phoenix Gazette published an incredible story about an archeological find, sponsored by the Smithsonian, of a cave within the Grand Canyon which supposed held a large store of artifacts thought to belong to an ancient civilization. The story quickly faded from sight, but was revived in the 70;s by certain authors seeking attention for exposing what they felt was a massive cover up being perpetrated by the Grand Canyon National Park and the Smithsonian. .In this story we discuss the original article describing the find, three audacious hoaxes pulled off in those times (over 100 years ago), and the truth regarding the origin of the Kincaid's Cave story. On April 27th, 1865, the steamboat Sultana, carrying over 2000 passengers, including over 1900 recently released Union soldiers, many of them weak and haggard from imprisonment at Andersonville and other camps, blew three boilers and caught fire, causing those aboard to die instantly or jump overboard. Also aboard were paid passengers, confederate soldiers, and a team of Christian nurses tending to the weakest and sickest prisoners. Less than half of the passengers survived. Corruption, mismanagement, greed, and very likely sabotage were responsible for this tragic incident. This is the story, with eyewitness accounts.
