Guests: Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Randal Grichuk, Blue Jays pitcher Braydon Fisher This week in Deep Left Field, we catch up with an old pal Randal Grichuk, who played four seasons for the Jays, is back in Toronto for the first time since being traded to the Colorado Rockies in spring training of 2022. We look back at his time here, at the Jays' great 2021 team, Grichuk helping to break in a 20-year-old Vladimir Guerrero Jr and, of course, we get the story on his nickname, Handsome Randal. Then we introduce you to rookie Braydon Fisher, who has yet to allow a run in 14 appearances out of the Jays' bullpen this season. Also, a tribute to longtime Jays team doctor Ron Taylor, who passed away this week at the age of 87.

It's in the title. The Giants are on a 7-game winning streak, bookended with our recording of 315 during game 1 of the streak and tonight's recording of 316 during the 7th game of the streak. They're just 1/2 game back of LA and if they complete the sweep of the Rockies tomorrow, the Giants will go into Chavez Ravine tied for first. This incredible streak started with six consecutive one-run wins and eight consecutive one-run games overall, both franchise records. They haven't lost since Buster Posey shook up the roster, DFA'ing LaMonte Wade Jr. and calling in some journeymen. Although the new guys haven't contributed much statistically speaking, something has happened to their ability to come back and hold on to tight games, get knocks in clutch situations in between droughts of hits. Some may call it a lucky streak, but it also shows the strength of the pitching staff and their resolve. Either way, wins are wins, and the Giants are hot. Let's hope it continues. Oh, and the pope was seen today wearing a White Sox hat, so that was cool.www.torturecast.comfacebook.com/torturecast@torturecast

What if your exhaustion isn't due to laziness or a lack of motivation but because you've unknowingly become the overworked, unpaid CEO of everyone's life? You're not alone in feeling this way. You're not tired because you're weak. You're exhausted because you're carrying the weight of multiple lives, including a golden retriever, and the emotional burden of your group chat, while rage-washing dishes, whispering, "It's fine" through clenched teeth. Let's be real. Overfunctioning isn't sustainable. Emotional CrossFit is not a life plan. Doing everything isn't noble—it's exhausting. I've lived this, and I'm sharing the mindset shifts and practical steps that helped me break free from overfunctioning and finally breathe again. Let's do less, live better, and take back our peace. Matthew 6:33 calls us to build our lives around the rule and reign of God—not merely prioritizing Him among many tasks, but centering everything on His kingdom and righteousness. Jesus isn't asking for balance; He's demanding total alignment. When God becomes the center, every other area—marriage, family, purpose—finds its proper place. Without Him at the center, even good things lose their eternal impact.
