They said her son would never live on his own...now he thrives in the community she built. On this episode of Celebrate Your Story, I sit down with Denise Resnik, trailblazing founder of the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center and First Place AZ. From her son's autism diagnosis at age two to reshaping real estate with purpose, Denise's story is one of innovation, advocacy, and unshakable love. She shares how she went from launching a real estate marketing firm to transforming blighted buildings into vibrant mixed-use housing communities that integrate people with autism, seniors, and the broader public. We discuss the heartbreak of being told to institutionalize her son, the grit it took to build new systems from scratch, and the vision behind a new marketplace for housing and community that includes everyone. Now leading a national movement through First Place's Global Leadership Institute and the Vote the Spectrum initiative, Denise is proving that when we plan for inclusion, we build something better for all of us.

Carol Leifer entered comedy when a woman stand-up was considered a novelty or a niche, but even then she knew "things would eventually change." And change has come, due in no small part to Carol's own stelar show biz contributions. Carol joins us this week to talk about her formative years, her early standup, giving voice to iconic characters like Elaine Benes and Deborah Vance, and her new book, How to Write a Funny Speech!Carol's relationship with her father, an optometrist with an ear for comedy and a quick wit that delighted both patients and family, laid the foundation for her career trajectory. Her supportive parents encouraged her to pursue stand-up when the opportunity struck, and very soon, she was right at home at The Improv and on The Tonight Show.Even within the male-dominated comedy space, Carol found herself buoyed by peers and colleagues, in the clubs and on the sets of seminal sitcoms such as Seinfeld, The Larry Sanders Show and Curb Your Enthusiasm.Carol's Seinfeld contributions tapped into women's lived experiences and brought us the skinny mirror, the marble rye and the nail salon, but she reveals which of Elaine's iconic storylines was not her brainchild - 'sponge-worthy' was actually coined by male writer, Peter Mehlman!Enjoy an exciting spin on your favorite podcast showbiz trivia game as we invite Carol to play IMDB Roulette: Writer's Edition, where she dives into the intricacies of writing for: Seinfeld, Curb, Hacks, SNL and Ellen, plus traveling the globe with Henry Winkler, George Foreman, Terry Bradshaw and William Shatner! Coming off a break from the Exit Philosophy podcast, Griff and Mal return with plenty to talk about as the Blue Jays complete a four-game sweep of the Yankees to take over top spot in the resurgent AL East. How have the Jays gone from two games below .500 on May 28 to the current status of battling for first with the Yanks and Rays? What have been the biggest surprises for this Jays team over the first 88 games? Who are the most important players? What about the injuries? Did injuries to Anthony Santander, Andres Gimenez and Daulton Varsho, in fact, allow the team to discover some diamonds in the rough that have made this lineup deeper and stronger? Griff and Mal discuss the Blue Jays' major need at the trade deadline and the state of the starting rotation, given the iffy status of Max Scherzer and the likelihood Eric Lauer will suffer some sort of lull later in the year. Will they add an arm? The '25 All-Star Game is almost at hand, and Vlad Guerrero Jr. has earned the starting nod at first base with Alejandro Kirk as the AL's second catcher. Does Vlad's season thus far warrant him being deserving starter? What should be the criteria for being an all-star? They discuss the MLB's biggest trade of the year and the lingering anger in Boston over Rafael Devers being dealt to the Giants. Was Devers being selfish, or did the Red Sox front office mishandle the situation of Alex Bregman taking Raffy's position with no discussion. Finally, there's an Ironbacks report and update, after half a season at historic George Taylor Field in St. Catharines. What's gone wrong with The Bronx Bombers? I'll preview another Subway Series on the horizon as both teams seek to get out of a midseason malaise. (25:05) NBA's free agency period is off and running. Guests: Blue Jays reliever Chad Green, outfielders Davis Schneider and Myles Straw      This week in Deep Left Field, we talk to three of your first-place Toronto Blue Jays. Davis Schneider, who homered twice in Wednesday's win and is hitting .400 in the Yankees' series through the first three games, talks about the run he's been on, the run the team has been on for the past six weeks and how they're doing it in the absence of some big pieces. We catch up with Myles Straw to talk about his impact in the field and on the bases, especially with Daulton Varsho on the shelf, and to discuss the fresh start he's gotten in Toronto. And Chad Green discusses his roller-coaster season so far, his message to Mason Fluharty upon the rookie getting optioned to Buffalo and the Jays' bullpen through the first half of the season.

Brent Gunning is joined once again by Daniele Franceschi to share their Blue Jays reactions after beating the Yankees for the third time this week and drawing even atop the American League East. They dive into the factors that propelled them there, especially in a nerve racking game where Toronto's eight-run lead fell apart. B&D focus on Aaron Judge's at-bat in the eight inning that resulted in a game-tying blast and question John Schneider's decision to pitch to him. They also discuss why the Jays need to complete the sweep and move officially ahead of the Yankees as they leave town, instead of falling a game back heading into the weekend, to simply keep the momentum and good vibes going. To close out the hour, the a.m. duo look into NBA free agency with thoughts on some of the moves and money handed out. They concentrate on the situation in Milwaukee with the Bucks waiving Damian Lillard in order to acquire Myles Turner, where that leaves Giannis, and the state of the Eastern Conference. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.

It's in the title. The Giants are on a 7-game winning streak, bookended with our recording of 315 during game 1 of the streak and tonight's recording of 316 during the 7th game of the streak. They're just 1/2 game back of LA and if they complete the sweep of the Rockies tomorrow, the Giants will go into Chavez Ravine tied for first. This incredible streak started with six consecutive one-run wins and eight consecutive one-run games overall, both franchise records. They haven't lost since Buster Posey shook up the roster, DFA'ing LaMonte Wade Jr. and calling in some journeymen. Although the new guys haven't contributed much statistically speaking, something has happened to their ability to come back and hold on to tight games, get knocks in clutch situations in between droughts of hits. Some may call it a lucky streak, but it also shows the strength of the pitching staff and their resolve. Either way, wins are wins, and the Giants are hot. Let's hope it continues. Matthew 6:33 calls us to build our lives around the rule and reign of God—not merely prioritizing Him among many tasks, but centering everything on His kingdom and righteousness. Jesus isn't asking for balance; He's demanding total alignment. When God becomes the center, every other area—marriage, family, purpose—finds its proper place. Without Him at the center, even good things lose their eternal impact.
