If you are a listener to this podcast, it's very likely that you went to cosmetology school. It's also likely that those classes never added up to a degree. Right now, that is changing. In this episode, host Blake Reed Evans and Sherilynn Smart talk about going back to school, not an easy endeavor for any busy professional. But, even with a full schedule, doing hair and working in education, Sherilynn is finding time to get a degree in less than one year. From planning your schedule to getting a full scholarship, Sherilynn tells us how she did it, and how anyone who has been to cosmetology school can make this move for themselves. This episode was originally published in January 2022. October 8, 2009. Latimer County, Oklahoma. 44-year old Bobby Jamison, his 40-year old wife, Sherilynn Jamison, and their six-year old daughter, Madyson Jamison, leave their home to go look at a plot of land in a remote mountainous area, but never return. Eight days later, their abandoned pick-up truck is discovered on a dirt road located thirty miles from their residence, but even though the family's dog and many of their personal items are locked inside the truck and a bag containing $32,000 is hidden under the driver's seat, the Jamisons are missing. In November 2013, the skeletal remains of Bobby, Sherilynn and Madyson are discovered in a wooded area less than three miles from where their truck had been parked, but since the authorities are unable to determine an exact cause of death, no one knows what actually happened to them. Were the Jamisons killed by an outside party? Could have they have orchestrated a murder-suicide? Did they simply wander off and succumb to the elements? This week's episode of “The Path Went Chilly” explores a truly baffling case involving the disappearance and death of a family which has yet to find a conclusive resolution.
Bobby, Sherilynn, and Madyson Jamison mysteriously disappeared in October 2009. Due to their personal lifestyle, they weren't reported missing for several days until their truck was found with their beloved family dog and $32,000 in cash locked in the cab. Meg discusses the theories around this still unsolved case.
14 years ago, the Jamison Family would drive 30 minutes from their home in in Eufaula, Oklahoma to view a 40 acre piece of property in Red Oak, Oklahoma. It was a trip the family would never return from, and it would be four years before the remains of Bobby, Sherilynn and Madison would be found. But, what happened to the family that day in 2009? LLC, or Limited Liability Company. This business structure protects you from personal responsibility for the company's debts or liabilities. An LLC gives you protection from debt collectors and lawsuits involving the company, just as a corporation would. But unlike a corporation, the LLC allows what's called “flow through” for tax purposes. The LLC doesn't pay corporate income taxes. The company's profits and losses (or deductions) are passed on to the members of the LLC. With an LLC it's easier to set up than a corporation . An LLC may have to be dissolved if a member dies or files for bankruptcy. The ownership or equity stake of an LLC cannot be publicly traded. But for many folks starting a business, forming an LLC is a great way to get started.C-corp … the C-corp is different from LLC as it does not allow a “flow through” treatment of profits and losses for tax purposes. A C-corp is subject to corporate income taxation. A C-corp requires you to hold annual meetings and have a board of directors that's voted on by shareholders. A benefit to a C-corp is that it lives beyond the life of an individual owner, since they have many owners called shareholders. C-corp also allows for passive income for the shareholdersS-corp … This structure has the best features of both the LLC and the C-corp. The S-corp provides you with liability protection, but also allows you to pass profits and losses directly to shareholders, so you're only taxed once. The S-corp avoids the double taxation inherent in the C-corp. Filing as an S corp can also reduce personal income taxes for the business owners, by characterizing money they receive from the business as salary or dividends to owners. Those are the advantages and disadvantages of the 3 most common company structures … just in case you're thinking about starting your own business one day. On today's program, Rob also answers listener questions:Jordan from Florida has investments with Fidelity and Vangaurd, and he wants to know which one is better.Sherilynn from Idaho recently was widowed and has sold a house and bought another cheaper one and wants to know what is the best way to invest her funds.Ann in Akron is looking for a used car and wondering if this is a better time to buy.Dora has a small ira, and would like to give some to her church, and is curious about the qualified charitable distributions. So, I'm back after a bit of a surprise break again. My bad! Anyway, we're back with another true crime case this week, and it's the mystery surrounding the Jamison Family and their strange disappearance. It happened back in 2009 when the family, Bobby, Sherilynn, and daughter Madyson, packed everything up and went in search of some land to build a home upon. Only they never found the land, and they never returned. It wasn't overly surprising to friends that they vanished as the parents, Bobby and Sherilynn, had issues with substance abuse and drugs. They were also into the occult, which, of course is the actual reason for their vanishing. I hope you picked up the sarcasm there... Anywhoo, the theories about their disappearance are vast and varied. And I'll go over all that in the episode! Their bodies were found four years later with no indication of what happened to them, and the theories surrounding their disappearance have continued to be spread. These theories range from drugs to vengeful spirits as people continue to speculate about this tragic loss of life.***The footage mentioned in the episode:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKK_g8-h0is
October 8, 2009. This week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold” explores a truly baffling case involving the disappearance and death of a family which has yet to find a conclusive resolution. In October of 2009 a family of three went missing after looking at a 40 acre lot for sale in Oklahoma. The family consisted of Bobby, Sherilynn, and Madyson Jamison. Their truck was found in very suspicious circumstances that would lead to all sorts of theories coming out. These theories included everything from drug dealing, family issues, to paranormal activities. But, is there enough information to lean more towards one of these theories. Welcome to the first episode to scare Beth! This one is a doozy friends. The Jamison family goes missing in Oklahoma and after 4 years, their bodies are found with NO evidence or clues as to how they died. The Jamisons behavior prior to their disappearance was anything but normal, they had 32,000 cash on them, and the wife/mother Sherilynn had a long and hateful letter to her husband with her. This one has us googling and talking way after we finished recording. If you haven't been lost yet, this one will do it... --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/werelostpodcast/support
The Jamison Family—Bobby, Sherilynn, and Madyson—vanished from Eufaula, Oklahoma in 2009. Although their bodies were eventually found four years later, we still don’t know why anyone would want them dead or who could be responsible. We’re not even completely sure how they died. Were they murdered in a drug deal gone wrong? Did they stumble upon something they shouldn’t have? Was it murder-suicide? Was it witchcraft? On October 8, 2009, Bobby, Sherilynn, and 6-year-old Madyson disappeared from their home in Eufaula, Oklahoma. They were on an outing to Red Oak, Oklahoma to view land they were thinking of buying, A 40-acre plot at that, but never returned home. It is said that they were wanting to place a storage shed they already owned on that land to live in. Extended family reported them as missing just a few days later saying they know the family was seen in that area looking to purchase land but they did not return from the woods. The family had vanished with no reason known to anyone. Where did they go? What actually happened to a whole family? Was the plot of land a spur of the moment idea or was it in their thoughts for a long time? Real Estate Investing with No Money - Maria Rekrut and Sherilynn Milsom on Thursday, Sept 03, 2020 at 2:00 pm EST: on https://www.facebook.com/RealEstateMediaNewsRadioandTVNetwork/
The 2009 disappearance of Bobby, Sherilynn, and Madyson Jamison captured the media's attention and the public's interest because of the bizarre backstory associated with it, which culminated in the discovery of their bodies just 3 miles from their last known location.
Meet Sherilynn Milsom, a professional real estate investor who trains other real investors and homeowners on creative real estate strategies such as rent-to-own. She launched rent-to-own, which gives you the ability to either exit property or make it an active business income.
We’re covering the disappearance of the Jamison family. On October 8 of 2009, the family disappeared after visiting a 40 acre plot of land in the Panola mountains for the second time in as many days. But, no one immediately knew Bobby, Sherilynn, or their young daughter Maddyson were missing. Due to their tendency to make spur of the moment travel decisions and the secluded area where the property sat, police wouldn’t be notified until 8 days later when their truck was found, abandoned, with their small dog locked inside. After multiple days spent searching and calling in all possible backup, they finally accepted that they wouldn’t find the family. Theories ran the gamut from murder/suicide, to cult activities, to drugs, to organized crime, but even with the discovery of the family’s remains in 2013, we’re left with more questions than answers. The Jamison Family, Bobby, Sherilynn, and their six year old daughter, Madyson, were in a period of transition and somewhat troubling circumstances just before their disappearance in early October, 2009. When their vehicle was found abandoned with the family dog, and $32,000 cash left inside, many widespread searches were conducted that resulted in not one shred of evidence being uncovered. 3 years later, two hunters discovered the family's badly decomposed remains a mere 2.7 miles from the location where their truck had been discovered years prior. What happened to this family? Were all 3 murdered, or did untreated mental illness or drug addiction drive one of them to do something awful? Is there another possibility? Join us, as we cover the Jamison family's disappearance and ultimate deaths. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/creepitrealpod)
On October 8, 2009, Bobby and Sherilynn Jamison leave their Eufaula, OK home in the family truck with 6-year-old daughter Madison and her dog Maisy in tow. They trek 30 miles away into the Sans Bois Mountains, where they supposedly scout property to buy where they could make a new life. But that's the last anybody ever hears from them. Days later, their truck is found abandoned, with all their personal belongings still inside, including the suffering dog and an envelope full of $32,000 cash under the seat. The only item missing is a .22 that belonged to Sherilynn, leading some to speculate this was a murder-suicide. But what about the ghosts? The ones Bobby and Sherilynn told their pastor about. The ones that were chasing them. Are they coming to get us, too?
Jamison Family Deaths. October, 08, 2009. Red Oak, Oklahoma. Bobby and Sherilynn Jamison, along with their daughter, 6 year-old Madyson, drive out to a remote area near Red Oak, Oklahoma to look at property. They are intending to move out there from Eufaula, Oklahoma. After this, no one hears from the family again. A search involving over 100 law enforcement and civilians fails to turn up the family's whereabouts, but their truck is located. Inside the truck is their now emaciated dog and many of their personal items. It would be four more years before their remains are discovered about 2.7 miles from where their truck was found. What could have happened to this family? Rumors suggested many possibilities: possible cult involvement, drugs and gangs, as well as strange behavior by Bobby and Sherilynn in the time leading up to their disappearance.
Grace & Grit Podcast: Helping Women Everywhere Live Happier, Healthier and More Fit Lives
I have long believed that successful people tend to ask for help often and much. I meet a lot of women who think hiring a health coach is a sign of weakness (like they should be able to figure it out themselves). Personally, I think asking for help in the areas we are struggling with is courageous and smart...if what you are doing hasn’t been working...asking for help makes a tremendous amount of sense! I have had coaches and mentors for as long as I can remember…I have hired personal trainers, life coaches, business coaches, movement teachers and health coaches. In fact, that is how I came to cross paths with my guest today, Sheri Lynn. I have known Sheri for well over a decade. Not only was she my own health coach, but she became a professional mentor to me as well. I learned so much from this woman! We have a long history, and I have deep respect for her. It may sound harsh but I have had a bit of a love/hate relationship with her specifically because she is such a remarkable teacher…meaning she holds your hand when you’re having a hard time getting up, and she has no problem holding your feet to the fire when you need a kick in the ass. Loving this podcast? Head over to iTunes and leave a review so the Grace and Grit message can spread to more women who need to hear it.
