Two brothers' quest to find random stuff to bicker about
After over a year break, we finally got to sit down again and record an episode. This is 100% the fault of our friend Jason, who runs the Two Minds podcast with his friend, Jason. He bullied us into recording again, and you can blame him for everything that happens. Today we talk D&D, what we hated about nicknames growing up, and then we get spicy and talk about social contracts and social media, please don't run away Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
We are back and this time the episode saved properly. Rejoice. As a very appropriate comeback, we discuss our kinks, incels tendencies, Clerks, and video games. We also spend some time playing the MovieMovie Game. We also have been gone for so long we forgot to NOT BUMP THE DAMN MICS! Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
In this episode we gave each other a piece of media to review and we both had a genuinely good time watching them. Additionally, spam mail dramatic readings are back with a vengeance. A very rare pure-positive episode from us. We will be sure to be back to being downers soon Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
We took a break for the holidays, a covid scare, and general SAD, but we return to semi-regular regularity as we sit down to discuss what is going on with each others lives(okay, Jakes) and Bob gushes about a D&D game he started with the Weebcast guests and friends, the Endwalker Expansion of Final Fantasy 14 and this all somehow drifts into US war policies in WW2 because it wouldn't be us without a hard left turn into a ditch. Please enjoy, like, and share Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Yes, we decided to go back to the Harry Potter well. And boy, howdy, do we fumble around our explanation of why. At the end of the day, the series means a lot-to us, to the podcast-and it sucks that one shitty terf ruined that. So, we decided to have another episode about the series(okay, Jake decided it because he got into a kick of watching the movies and wanted to talk about it) so we discussed our top 10 moments from the series. We also discuss video games we sort of wanted to not-technically steal from our friends growing up and Bob and Jake bring brand new albums to get the other to listen to: Silk Sonic and Red. Guess who listened to what, and try not to throw your phone out a window as we try to discuss musical motifs and theme. Also, a special note from Bob: If you spotted the title ref right away, I love you. Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Jake calls in on a potato from the famine era and needed an escape from his stressors, so we talked about our thoughts on Cyberpunk and there is one thing we feel everyone can agree on: Johnny Silverhand is a giant tool.
Jake is busy so Bob had Julie and Fran help him again as they decided to run through some of their favorite romcom anime. It went about as you would expect. We will be having an odd release structure for the foreseeable future, so make sure to subscribe and follow us on twitter to keep up to date Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
It wouldn't be a return to in-studio recordings without just a lot of talkative dogs. In between attention-seeking pooches, we discuss a Woodstock 99 documentary, Kids on Brooms, The fact that Reed Richards is a Randian douche canoe, and we do some spam letter readings Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
In this episode we discuss our weird body hair, [information redacted], our hatred of fireworks, WoW Classic, and how much we each truly hate late-stage capitalism Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
This episode was supposed to be Jakes return episode but things happened. It is well worth the wait, however, because you get to learn more about our daddy issues, and get to see how badly Bob breaks down when he learns we have family that listens to this podcast that really oughtn't We also discuss Mass Effect and Dragon Age because we each, independently, decided to hop on those trains again Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Today's topics include sad dog news, Chinese food, and Jake trying to sell Bob(spoiler, it worked) on WoW's Burning Crusade Classic, all with the help of testimonials from his guildmates, but really the fact that someone was named ZipZap sold it. Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
In the (possibly) final episode of Weeblab 2021, Bob and Fran argue it out in a Waifu Tournament arc, and just like any good tournament arc, there's an all-important fight at the very end against an out-of-nowhere competitor. Let us know if you would like to see more episodes of Weeblab, and we will see if we can pepper them in throughout the year Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
In part 2 of our little experiment in all things anime, we discuss our favorite anime opening themes, as well as a couple endings. Also, bob actually breaks down exactly how much he has spent at Bookwalker in the last year and its not pretty. Fran had to call in for the first part on her phone, while watching her kid, but that gets sorted around the 30 minute mark. Enjoy Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Jake is out for most of this month so Bob is doing what he does best, poorly discussing anime with his friends. Fran joined us, as well as newcomer to the show, Julie as they tried to discuss anime but really talked about any random thought, and we learn that Fran has a very particular kink. Enjoy and be sure to share with your friends. Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Back to form with a little episode of random talking points including, but not limited to, WoW, FF14, the new Invincible show, and the main point of the episode: What makes a good superpower Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast

This one got contentious, y'all. We went from hive minding to arguing rather quickly. Should still be enjoyable, as well sit down to discuss our favorite songs from the 2010's. Give it a listen, give it a share, give the playlist a listen. Remember that the first 32 songs will be pitting against each other, as they appear on the list, in a tournament episode where we put them against one another to find the winningest song of the 2010's Playlist's Spotify Link https://open.spotify.com/playlist/10Yb94tDvTn5bhbX0aDvjm?si=1c293a2014aa4b88 Playlist's Apple Music Link https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/abqs-choice-sounds-of-the-10s/pl.u-4Jommamsaq6vkBY Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast

After a hiatus for the holidays the brothers are back to talk about what they are best known for: Ice Cold WoW Takes, video games, and their particular fetishes. We discuss what we have been up to on our break and the games that have filled that void for us. Jake recommends Cyber Punk and Civ 6. While Bob has been obsessed with Hades and has been liking Dragon Quest 11 https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate https://bailproject.org/ Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
After a hiatus that only has Bob to blame, we are back to doing what we were put on this earth to discuss: The new World of Warcraft expansion Shadowlands, and being interrupted by dogs. We talk about the first week of launch and what our thoughts are on everything. Give it a listen, give it a share, give it a like, give a little bit, give a little bit of your love to me. https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate https://bailproject.org/ Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
This episode is being uploaded on November 2nd,2020, a very important date that we hope desperately will be followed by a much better world, but we all know how unlike that is, but hopefully us being angsty can alleviate some of your anxieties about what is going on. Don't worry, the gloomy election stuff only takes over at the middle point. Before that we discuss Bob's unhealthy D&D buying habits and Shadowlands' release date, all with way too many dogs in the studio. Please enjoy and vote. It may not affect the Electoral Office any, but a Legislature flip could do a world of good. Be safe out there, and hydrate. https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate https://bailproject.org/ Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
After being away for a bit, we decided to throw a remote episode together. We sit around and chat about WoW, Bob spending too much money on comics, and some of the Netflix Original movies that are genuinely good. Go grab a cocoa, slip into some pjs and give it a listen, even if you're in the middle of the office. https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate https://bailproject.org/ Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
In this episode, Jake's new puppy is no longer scared of stairs so we had five dogs in the studio and it turned out about as you would expect five dogs in a studio to be like. But we did get to dig into Jake becoming transmog trash in WoW before discussing the main topic: A Monkey's Paw deal where you would never hear one horrible-or good-song at the cost of, always hearing a similar song in its place, every time you would hear the first song. It makes more sense if you listen. Just picture this episode written in blocky, yellow font with a white and black border, with our heads superimposed on Lady Ashvane's body. Because we are discussing the Top 5 things we each loved and didnt love about Battle for Azeroth. Don't worry, we may be overall negative gits, but we stay positive for the most of the episode. We call out the stuff that failed, but since we don't have to keep an eye on metrics, SEO, or anything else, we can discuss the game as we want, and not have to make sure our content is mostly negative. Jake also tells us about about how much of a nostalgia trip the new Tony Hawk Pro Skater remastered pack is. Sit back, enjoy, and please share this with those you think will like it https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate https://bailproject.org/ Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
After a long break, we are back on our grind with a whole new technical issue that will surely make everyone happy, and a heap of talking points. Today, the brothers discuss Jake falling down a slippery slope of Visual Novels, the prospect of teaching English abroad, and influential wrestlers who did not get the love they deserved. https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate https://bailproject.org/ Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
This week is discussing some new information we learned about Shadowlands, with the beta officially being released. We talk about the change to Heirlooms, the ”””””””””discourse””””””””” around the Covenant Abilities and how we are on board for the restrictive nature of making a choice, and the new Covenant-specific World Quests and how much fun it will be at the Build A ‘Bom Workshop https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate https://bailproject.org/ Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Bob learns that his new dog has a very unique reaction to fireworks and it is probably the worst of his three dogs. Topics discussed include the CoronaVirus, Divinity Original Sin, Guild Wars 2 and a possible new AV task for us, and how much we are curmudgeons who hate fireworks https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate https://bailproject.org/ Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
To relax and have fun, we sat down and went through some random Unearthed Arcana options to see what we found interesting and just chat. Zoom messed with Bob's audio a bit, so there's some dips, but it all worked out in the end. Relax, listen, and let us know what struck your fancy. We really didn't know about having an episode this week, but we both needed some catharsis. We started off discussing what video games we have been playing to occupy us during the Quarantine and the back half ended up devoted to the Minneapolis Protests. This was recorded before everything went to hell and back, so instead of linking to the Minnesota bail fund, below is a hub you can go to to fund multiple bail funds at once. This week is a very hyper-focused themed episode where we sit down and talk about some of the class changes coming to World of Warcraft in the upcoming expansion, Shadowlands Apologies to Claywell and everyone else who has to sit through us gushing about this game, but after all that's going on, we need one for us Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
We sat down amid many recording issues, some of which bleed through on the recording, to discuss the important topic of Iconic TGIF sitcom themes and what the changing style of sitcom intros says about entertainment, as a whole, and its place in society Yes, I am being serious. As a note, this episode was recorded on 3/13, a bit before everything broke *real* bad over Covid-19. Things have gotten much worse since then, especially with our horrible governmental body, but let's try not to dwell on that. This episode we discuss World of Warcraft, Jake's time in California, and general anxieties that need to be vented about. Don't worry, there are plenty of bad jokes and fart gags to even it out Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Jake has abandoned us by selfishly serving his country, so Fran stops by and her and Bob go on a tear. We discuss the Baldur's Gate 3 intro and playthrough that was unveiled last week. Other topics include, but are not limited to Discussing the world you live in the fantasy world you wish to escape into Jojo's Bizarre Adventure The secret reason why Krillin never physically grew And something about ducks that the world needs to know Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Special thanks to our sponsor of this episode, Mr Claywell, who spent his hard-earned sanity on making sure we have as many episodes talking about WoW as we possibly can. We discuss the odd role=reversal that Bob and Jake have when it comes to online games that finally get to the heart of it in a way we finally remember this is our fifth time talking about this Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Have you ever wondered why the stereotype for spin class is a room full of women? Well join us as we blast right through that mystery in the first 10 minutes to discuss the important things, such as why are briefs still a thing that exists? What, actually, is wrong with Pulaski County, and many other burning questions on this installment of A Brothers Quarrel Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
After a month off, the boys are back in the side room with a blanket nailed to the wall we call a studio and we bring you the hot takes you come here for. Discussing The Witcher 3 and Star Wars The Old Republic. We also touch on the show Hellier coming to our hometown and the odd feeling you get seeing something you grew up with through the lense of a camera. Oh and we talk about WoW as well, just so you don't get the impression we are sophisticated in any way Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Fran stepped in again to help get an episode out so you know what that means? Audio issues and a lot of table-hitting. And anime. We talk anime. We also discuss how the new Halo rerelease can never really be the same as playing it back in the day. We also talk board games and random anime we love As for the audio, it seems the lapel mics Bob got were omnidirectional so they picked up just everything. They will soon leave rotation. It has been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG hiatus for us, but we are back with something great. Bob and Jake were joined by Fran and Nicole to play some more D&D, so you know what that means: They will not shut up and let Bob paint his word-picture of their fantasyland. The grandson of the richest elf in elf-town has been kidnapped and the only ones who can find them are some hard-boiled detectives from the wrong side of the tracks. … but then they spent too long interrupting Bob's story description so we had to stop midway through, so sit down and give a listen as the Quarrel family plays some D&D, complete with a more combat over music version of our theme song, still by Nicolai Heidlas Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Blizzcon was this weekend so we sat down to discuss our thoughts on the WoW-based information that was given and our thoughts on the new expansion. Another long hold, but this time it was mostly the fault of file corruptions. Today we are trying out some new Lavaliere mics that Bob picked up for a super secret project so the audio quality takes some weird turns. We sat down with little of real substance to talk about and ended up clearing 55 minutes of stories from our past(some you probably already heard before) and talking about the Con that was last weekend. This episode is highly recommended as one not to miss but if you haven't realized this yet, for this episode the most, do NOT take Jake's stories as a way to live your live. The fact that he has not been on Maurie 3 times is a miracle from on high. Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
This episode was recorded during the middle of a Concert Hangover so buckle in, kiddies, we are going places and your needs will not be noted on this car trip so use the bathroom before we leave, or else learn to aim into a bottle because we are talking old school wrestling, Classic WoW, those times where we feel we peaked on Twitter, and we learn about how bad jake understands certain words that, having grown up in the south, REALLY should know Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
Thanks to a twitter argument, we start off discussing the Sony/Disney issue and we get even more political from there. This episode was recorded at Jake's house, so we busted out the Yeti so prepare to hear some background fuzz you haven't heard for over a year. This episode was recorded a couple weeks ago in preparation for the next time Jake would be busy with The Navy. Fran stops by and her and Bob have an ice cream party and promise to talk about Tabletop RPGs but, instead, talk about every other thing under the sun such as the issues around Vic Mignogna's Defamation suit, the hellscape that is America at the moment and how it is in no way new tv, but new to you. We also lighten it up a bit with a brief discussion of anime and a good dunking on Godsmack because if we ever forget crappy nu metal, we will be doomed to relive it Alternate title of this week's episode: One-Four-Oh-ver the cuckoo's nest Intro Music: A Day In Cincinnati by Nicolai Heidlas Logo by Jamie-Lyn Trinckes brothersquarrel@gmail.com @ABQpodcast
The brothers sit down to discuss the important issues in the world: how no Marvel movie will come close to Logan and that has done nothing but aide the burnout of the Marvel movies. … and then Jake talks about the good bits of Spiderman: Far From Home.
