Finally, they close the ‘sode with takes on ‘The Odyssey' (01:48:16). Heifetz has strong, contrarian opinions, as one would expect. Today, Clark explains the confusion around how various interest rates are set, from savings & CDs, to credit cards and car loans. He explores the "K-shaped" economy, where a flood of cash into savings and CDs drives down returns – even at online banks, and how the "convenience trap" can cost consumers thousands on all kinds of loans. Also, good news at the grocery store: the "store brand revolution" is working. After years of price hikes, name brand giants are finally slashing prices on snacks to win back customers. Daniel and Luis Cortez Jr. unpack the weird realization of “the last time you ever did something,” from friendships and high school memories to sports, cold weather, and phases of life you don't realize are ending until they're gone. Then things take a sharp (and hilarious) turn:Do dogs know how long you're gone — and what would they sound like if they could talk?Is Theo a banker? An accountant? A white guy from Idaho?Rich Davis goes full heated rant mode — is it passion, supplements, or something else? The “nice guys finish last” sauna story sparks a brutally honest debateWhy generic products don't always feel the same as name brandsWhy some people overshare with strangers… and why others absolutely never wouldDeep thoughts, wild tangents, nostalgia, awkward gym interactions, and classic After Show chaos — this one has it all.
It is Rodeo season here in Houston. Soon, everyone will be wearing boots and hats and will try to look the part. Those attending the livestock show may notice a mark on the animals being shown. This brand identifies that animal as belonging to someone. Just as ranchers brand their cattle to show ownership, and companies use logos to identify themselves in the marketplace, our lives are meant to carry a mark that identifies us as God’s own. A branded cow belongs to someone who paid the price and protects it. In the same way, God has paid for us, claims us, and watches over us. His desire is to leave a recognizable imprint on our lives—the name of Jesus seen in who we are and how we live. In a world full of knock‑offs and imitations, we’re called to be the real thing, not just a form of godliness but a genuine reflection of the One we belong to.

The old playbook of "buy ads, rank for keywords, and wait for patients" is failing. According to Paige Velasquez Budde, CEO of Zilker Media and author of The Strategic Business Influencer, we've entered an era of "corporate suspicion." Trust in institutions is at an all-time low, while trust in individuals is skyrocketing. For health and wellness organizations, you can no longer rely on your company brand alone. AI Search Demands Leader Visibility Patients now find health providers through AI platforms like ChatGPT, not just Google. Budde calls this Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). Unlike traditional SEO, AI platforms prioritize trust and credibility over keywords. "You've gotta earn trust, people to people. It's no longer people to logo," Budde emphasizes. When AI aggregates answers about wellness clinics, it searches for verified, authoritative sources—leaders who are visible, cited, and trusted. "If you are thinking you can pay your way to AI discoverability, that is not the case right now," says Budde. If you hide behind a corporate logo, AI platforms may overlook you entirely. A lack of personal visibility "is actually hurting you." PR Outpaces Traditional SEO Today, "It's no longer the loudest one that wins, it's the most trusted." While SEO remains relevant, Public Relations and Micromedia build trust faster with both AI algorithms and human patients. You don't need CNN. Niche channels carry more weight. Budde distinguishes between "Name Brand" media like Forbes and "Micromedia"—industry podcasts, niche blogs, and influencers. She estimates "about 60% or more [of AI citations] come from true journalistic content." Without media coverage, you're invisible to the algorithms defining search's future. When featured on a respected podcast or blog, you borrow their trust through "Authority by association." Health practice owners get discovered and trusted faster than by publishing on their own blog alone. Audit Your Digital Presence You don't need a million followers. You simply need to influence the right 500 people. Treat your digital presence like a passport—verified and accurate. Google yourself in Incognito Mode. Search your name in ChatGPT and ask, "Who is [Your Name]?" If AI doesn't know you or the information is wrong, you have a discoverability problem. Ditch stock photos. Authenticity builds trust. "Throw stock images out the door as much as you can," Budde advises. Use photos of you in action—leading a class, speaking to patients, or teaching. Think Like an Editor Stop thinking like a marketer and start thinking like a media outlet. Budde suggests a specific content mix to keep audiences engaged without burning them out on sales pitches: 40% News-Driven: Commentary on headlines and new health studies 40% Relationship-Driven: Interviewing peers and partners (creating a "win-win") 20% You-Driven: Your personal story and promotional material Don't build your house on rented land. Social media algorithms change constantly. Use your social media and PR wins to drive traffic back to assets you control: your website, your email list, or your podcast. In this podcast you'll learn: Why AI search and GEO make individual leader visibility critical for health and wellness organizations How PR, micromedia, and thought leadership strategies can help wellness and health practice owners Actionable steps health and wellness leaders can take to elevate their credibility and create a durable reputation EPISODE RESOURCES: Website LinkedIn ZilkerMedia
This week, Templeton Elliott, Mike Munzenrider, and Jason From Frozen in Carbonite are weighing in on the SOTY race and talking about name brand spots.
- Welcome to the first episode of This Week in Gulls (hereafter: TWIG), the PWHL Vancouver podcast that, oddly, shares a team-building philosophy with Tony Montana. First you get the name, then you get the logo, then you get the women. - Behold! But like, y'know, if a real person did it. The weird beak-frown can probably stay, though. - If you identify with or have affinity for one or more the following, you may be entitled to compensation after listening to this episode: the city of Buffalo, New York; the American Hockey League; Zellers; having weak sisters. - If, for some unfathomable reason, you're not entirely sold on being a die-hard Gull-head, picture the noble future that could exist were we to enlist the services of Dame Cloudington, Duchess of Renfrew. - We're genuinely excited about this team, but you better believe we've still gotta bushelful of buts. Audible ones!

“What should I wear?” is a question my wife asks me when we are going on a date and I always answer the same way, “Beautiful, you know I have no idea about fashion so whatever you choose will look fine to me.” There's a clothing we need to wear every day that is very important and it absolutely matters. Paul says at least three times in Colossians 3 to “Put on” a certain type of clothing: Jesus, love, and a whole bunch of Jesus characteristics. He wants people to look at us and see Jesus so God will be glorified. What are you wearing?
Which is better in the pop tart world? S'mores, or brown sugar cinnamon? What Mustard is the best mustard? Do you shop generic or name brand only?
Globally, and not just Hollywood, we have an insatiable appetite for all things celebrity and an even bigger appetite to emulate the perceived lives of famous people and what fashion they wear. It's good to realize it's all a manufactured plan to get you to buy their stuff because of their "name brand", and to get your money too.. There is power in a name. There is nothing more important for any of us to hear than for God to call OUR name. What Jesus received by right, we are invited to receive by grace. Your name brand has everything to do with whose name you represent. This is an original devotion from Sue Duffield's blog and teaching, formerly entitled, "Who's Your Fashion Designer?" Imagine if we had more gubernatorial candidates like Kari Lake. We'd have a different country. Kari joins us today to discuss her plan to assert state sovereignty over the federal government on immigration, land use, public health, and protection of civil liberties. She is also promising to bring back stiff punishment for violent criminals and name the judges in Arizona who let criminals off the hook. I also discuss the problem with the courts now enshrining transgenderism as a right. At some point, governors will have an obligation to fight judicial supremacism if we ever hope to create a red-state sanctuary.
