Your boys are back with three superheroic films this week! First up, the boys talk about the wonders of 3-D film making and we play a game of "What was Kevin Talking About?" Where we ask the question: What was Kevin Talking about?" The first movie is "Felidae," a 1994 animated German film about a cat that feels compels to solve a murder in his neighborhood. The gory crimes lead him into a rabbit hole (so to speak) of violence and conspiracy. Next, is Scrambled Face Jeff's contest-winning pick of "Papi Gudia." In this extremely '80s movie (that came out in 1996), an Indian serial killer named Young Channi puts his soul into a doll to continue his violence. It's all Channi Play from there. Finally, the side characters from Dragon Ball get their own movie in "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero" from 2022. Will Kevin understand 40 years of Akira Toriyama continuity? And will one of the hosts simply refuse to watch it? And will Krillin fuck a robot? All this plus Nerd News, Buffy Chat, Baseball Chat, voicemails, curses and so much more! Direct Donloyd! After the show, send us a voicemail or join the Patreon or the Discord!

DISCLAIMER: Thomas had an issue with his recording software that caused a lot of audio to be lost around 1 hour 5 minutes. Sorry. WSP continues with a little taste of filler on an all new WSP. See Goku farm, Mr. Satan lie, and Krillin get his s**t rekt now!
While Universe 7 (and all the others) prepare for this big tournament thing, John and Spencer continue their little tiff about Krillin and get really confused watching Jeremy's terrible editing job.

Read transcriptGather ‘round, Dragon Ball devotees and gluttons for punishment! This week on Play Comics, we're subjecting ourselves to the digital equivalent of getting hit by Frieza's Death Beam repeatedly-Dragon Ball Z Taiketsu for the Game Boy Advance. Imagine taking the most explosive anime franchise in history and cramming it into a game with all the fiery intensity of a damp firecracker. Spoiler alert: This isn't a battle for glory-it's a battle for survival against one of the most bafflingly awful licensed games ever conceived. Joining me in this masochistic quest is Andrew Young from Behold!, who's agreed to lend his expertise (and his remaining sanity) to dissect this pixelated travesty. Together, we'll answer the burning question: How did a game about planet-destroying superhumans end up feeling as thrilling as watching paint dry on Master Roshi's houseboat? Hint: It involves more clipping issues than Yamcha's career and combat mechanics flatter than Krillin's scalp. From animations that resemble a PowerPoint presentation gone rogue to a soundtrack that sounds like a kazoo orchestra trapped in a washing machine, Taiketsu doesn't just drop the ball-it spikes it into the core of the Earth, unleashes a Spirit Bomb of disappointment, and then forgets to animate the explosion. Whether you're here for the schadenfreude or just morbid curiosity, grab your Dragon Radar and a stiff drink. This episode's gonna hurt. A lot. Learn such things as: What happens when the developers are put not only behind the 8 ball, but also in front of a really high cliff on a windy day and that cliff is made of ice? So I guess games really do need a story don't they? Even if it's just a hand wave at one. Is this the new worst representation of the comic source material? And so much more! You can find Andrew by looking at the Behold! account on Twitter or of course the Behold! website. You should especially check out the episode looking at X-Men 97 because I love that series and need something good in my life, and the episode looking at Fan4stick because it has me in it. Hey what's up, anime lovers! It's ya boy Raysean, and welcome back to the Raysean Gadson Anime Podcast—aka R-GAP!Today, we're continuing our Dragon Ball Z marathon with an absolute banger—episodes 150 to 160, where we witness the birth of Perfect Cell! I'm joined by my guy Josh from DAS, and we're breaking down our Top 5 favorite moments, one thing we didn't vibe with, and everything in between. We kick things off with Cell interrupting the epic fight between Android 17 and Piccolo, thanking Piccolo for unintentionally leading him right to the androids. Piccolo warns 17, but it's already too late—Cell's on a mission. Android 16 steps up to stall him, nearly pulling off a victory, but Cell's Z-Fighter DNA lets him regenerate. He absorbs 17, knocks out 16, and sets his sights on 18.Tien puts his life on the line to slow him down, and just when things get critical, Goku steps in to save the day—buying time for a real showdown.Meanwhile, Vegeta and Trunks are deep in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, leveling up and unlocking that Super Vegeta energy. Vegeta goes head-to-head with Cell and starts dominating—until Cell tempts him with the chance to fight his perfect form. And we all know Vegeta's pride can't resist a challenge…Krillin, caught between love and duty, destroys the controller that could've stopped Android 18—because yes, my guy caught feelings. Cell ends up absorbing 18, triggering natural disasters, and BOOM—Perfect Cell is here. He casually kicks Krillin near-death and doesn't even break a sweat.

So imagine there is an alien baby sent to earth that ends up becoming the world's greatest hero, when all his parents wanted was for him to escape to safety as the end of their world was imminent. If you were thinking about Superman you are WRONG! We are of course talking about the oddly carefree, often oblivious and ever hungry Goku and the world of Dragonball. The newest game Sparking Zero has taken hold of many gamers, and there is a new show on the horizon. So fire up the Yama-cha bike, put the ice tray back in the Frieza, pour yourself a Chi-Chi or crack a Beerus and get ready for another episode where we somehow keep finding new ways to get better and better at what we do, with no real limitation or end in sight.

With the passing of the legendary storyteller and artist Akira Toriyama, Joe and Mike delve into one of his most loved creations: Dragon Ball Z! While the anime was a smash hit here in the States, the guys discuss the interesting relationship it had with censorship, the impact of having limited access to Japanese media in the 90s, and the genius of its world-building and character work. In this episode, Kevin and DK discuss Dragon Ball Z episodes 17 - 25, covering the adventures of Goku along Snake Way and eventually his training with King Kai, Gohan's continued adventures in the wild and his training with Piccolo in preparation for the Saiyan threat, and the eventual arrival of the Saiyans Vegeta and Nappa, and the immediate rise in stakes that occurs as a result of their invasion. Kevin and DK also go against the fandom a little in their mutual admiration of Krillin as a character. For first viewers, what happens in these episodes defies Shounen storytelling tropes in an unprecedented way that still hits hard for new viewers to this day... including DK's girlfriend who was at the edge of her seat through all of this. Today we dive into the man that used to be Goku's GO-TO GUY. It's crazy that somebody with such heavy impact early on in the series would go on to not even be considered a top 10 character anymore. The Shonen Tapes take a slight issue with this, so in this episode, we try to rectify it.With these improvement tapes, as always, we break down what the issues with the characters are, and why they have fallen out of flavor. Krillin is one of our more obvious cases, but we really believe we came up with some fixes that could do the series some good.We hope you guys have been enjoying the episodes. And honestly.. we're hoping Akira Toriyama tunes in too for our suggestions!
