In episode 172 of Joe & Reese's Pickle and Boot Shop, Joe recounts his time in a Detroit break room ruled by a VCR possessed by Marked for Death, while Reese updates us on his eternal struggle with pantry paint. Joe also dives into tales of off-grid camping with dirt bikes, side-by-sides, and the kind of rugged discomfort that builds character—or at least sore knees. It's the usual mix of nostalgia, sadness, and poor life choices, delivered by your two favorite Christian ska singers who clearly peaked in 1998. In today's episode of Joe & Reese's Pickle & Boot Shop, the guys discuss meat pies, explosive gastrointestinal phenomena, and why you probably shouldn't carpet your bathroom. Joe forgets how many people he knows with questionable flooring choices, and Reese contemplates flushing his political future down the toilet — literally. There's historical revisionism, unsolicited medical speculation, and a whole lot of noise masquerading as content. As always, it's barely a podcast and definitely not educational. This weekend in Napa Valley, musicians, athletes and actors alike will be taking to the stage alongside celebrity chefs at the Williams Sonoma Culinary Stage at BottleRock festival. For more, KCBS Radio anchor Eric Thomas spoke with KCBS Foodie Chap Liam Mayclem, who is hosting the culinary experiences.
In today's episode, hosts Joe Yerke and Reese, joined by waffle-slinging guest Pete Hutchinson, revive their "Coupon Kings" shtick, hyping absurd deals like a pitchfork from a satanic ritual to save big bucks. They dive into Chimo, a sketchy Venezuelan tobacco paste that sounds like a health hazard disguised as Jell-O. The trio gripes about younger coworkers ditching work for Tigers games, leaving Joe stuck with 16-hour roofing shifts. Pete's “Bed, Wed, Behead, Befriend” game spirals into Joe plotting to behead him for a robot-body immortality plan, because why not? In Episode 169 of Joe & Reese's Pickle & Boot Shop Podcast, Joe and Reese gripe about kids dodging bedtime because the sun's still up and rave about Bucharest Grill's quesadilla sticks. Reese admits to dropping $700 on Electric Light Orchestra's final London show, while they laugh over one of Sonny Johnson's practical jokes. They also cheer a 17-year-old running a collision shop. In episode 168, Joe — one half of your favorite 90's Christian ska survivors — makes a solo journey to Toledo, while Reese heckles safely from the comfort of home. Joe spends $32 on valet parking, wanders through abandoned malls, and eats a chili dog so depressing it should come with a counseling session. Reese pulls up Google Maps to confirm the river looks like a septic tank with a Yelp page. It's a full hour of broken dreams, bad hot dogs, and ska veterans wondering why they ever leave the house. Alton Brown, one of the Food Network's most prolific stars, says the best thing about the 1980s was living in Chicago. As the former host of "Good Eats," Brown has plenty say about the evolution of food television. In this episode, Dining Table host David Manilow digs into Brown's favorite Chicago places and his dining pet peeves. Plus, you'll hear about his culinary variety show "Alton Brown Live: Last Bite," which makes a tour stop in Chicago this weekend. Brown also discusses his new book of 39 essays and how it was inspired by a passion he shares with actor Tom Hanks.

This week, Joe and Reese kick things off with a deep theological dive into rectal exams, dry rubs, and whether Jesus prefers BBQ sauce. Joe bravely tells the tale of Grim's final vet visit—a moving story somehow filled with jokes about trash cans, and mistaken pet identities. Reese nerds out over regional dialects and pronounces “Shenandoah” like he's got a PhD in Iroquois Linguistics. n today's episode, Reese kicks things off with his epic tale of downing six plates of seafood at Captain George's in Myrtle Beach, only to christen a "poop corner" in his hotel room as the aftermath hits. Episode 163 of Joe & Reese's Pickle & Boot Shop features Joe's return after repeated power outages and Reese dealing with a broken hot tub that cats have claimed as their own. In today's episode, Joe is mysteriously absent (probably wrestling raccoons or fighting off another made-up ailment), so Reese ropes in his charming, far-too-good-for-him girlfriend Kara to co-host. What follows is their awkward origin story, including lies about age, a suspicious wedding ring, lactose intolerance, and a first date so romantic it involved blistered shishito peppers and a prolonged fart. Today's episode of Joe & Reese's Pickle & Boot Shop is another glorious trainwreck of a conversation, featuring a gold chain that proudly says "Ligma", a deep dive into the legendary grossness of Casa Bonita, and a debate over whether billionaires should be forced to pay taxes—or at least buy everyone sopapillas. This week, Joe and Reese embark on a heroic yet completely unnecessary quest to calculate square footage for a listener's carpet purchase. Turns out, neither of them remembers how math works. Joe discovers that square feet have nothing to do with actually squaring numbers, while Reese insists he can solve everything by rounding up (which is great if you want to carpet your entire neighborhood). Along the way, they discuss the joys of sleeping in an icebox, the philosophical implications of capers, and Reese's brief yet tragic three-day sobriety stint. Add outstanding audiobook narrator to Brown's deep resumé. He is aftercall a Food Network personality, cookbook author, and avid food science researcher. Given his long running gigs on Iron Chef, Good Eats and his work as a pitchman for GE, among others, no surprise that he performs his “essays and ruminations” smoothly, smartly and wittily. His range of interests is expansive: blue crab (eat in the soft shell variety), martinis (be wary of ice), Japanese cuisine (seek it out), but it's his funny and quirky opinions—men should dress like Bond villains, kitchen tables must be wood, utensils need to multitask--that stay with the listener. A master of the bon mot, he tells stories creatively with excellent pace and tone. Highly recommended.(123) Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Alton Brown hosted Good Eats on the Food Network for 16 seasons, and says Julia Child, Mr. Wizard and Monty Python were his inspirations for the wacky, science-driven TV show he created. He just released his 10th book, Food for Thought: Essays and Ruminations. We did too so we asked Chrissy Banta, the Co-Host of the Louisville women's basketball post-game show on 93.9 The Ville and Host of the podcast, 'Who Told You To Say That' to join us on ACC Nation. There may be multiple reasons but then again not one in particular. Find out what all those possibilities might be. Mike Barber | 1 Solid Hour Of Sports Banta takes us through the success of head coach Jeff Walz and looks at a team heavily loaded with first-year players. There's many stat lines to look at and you can see where players are struggling but are close to breaking through. If a late season and ACC Tournament surge doesn't occur the key to having the Cardinals return to form will be in keeping the roster intact. Louisville Banta has an affinity for and training in baking thus a reputation within The Ville for bringing the goods with cookies. She shares some of that passion and we find out where the 'foodie' in her comes out when it comes to Louisville area eateries. Anyone making a journey for games should make note as she covers a nice variety. Report Card | ACC Football '24. Did It Make The Grade? Alton Brown visits Google to discuss his book “Good Eats 3: The Later Years”. The book offers foodies more than 200 recipes accompanied by hundreds of photographs, drawings, and stills from his hit Food Network show “Good Eats”, as well as lots of science-of-food facts, cooking tips, food trivia, and behind-the-scenes glimpses. In chapters devoted to everything from pomegranates to pretzels, mincemeat to molasses, Alton delivers delicious recipes along with fascinating background in a book that's as fun to read as it is to cook from. With his trademark humor, Brown starts at the neighborhood supermarket and recommends what to buy, how to turn it into tasty “good eats,” and explains the science behind his recommendations. What bacon should you take home? How can you make it crispy? Why does frying bacon suddenly burn? Does all espresso have to be dark roasted? Cooking school has never been so fun! n today's episode, Joe insists Michigan has peaks worth mentioning , while Reese defends Colorado's Olympic superiority, complete with a rant about Henry Ford and the Appalachians' lack of “real mountain” status. Reese also recounts his wild Christmas of 1989 in Nevada, involving a decorated bike as a Christmas tree and buzzing sheep in a Cessna. They highlight a Disney-employed listener who knows all about code H, and cap things off with plans for a sugar-free gummy bear challenge . n today's episode of Joe & Reese's Pickle & Boot Shop, the guys tackle a math problem (poorly), invent “24 and Me,” a fart-based ancestry service, and debate the gift-giving etiquette of Hustler subscriptions. Packed with cringe, chaos, and just enough nonsense to question your life choices...it's The Pickle & Boot Shop. We hope you hate it. In today's episode, Joe & Reese tackle the most pressing issues of modern life, starting with the deep existential pain caused by the decline of Marvel movies post-Endgame. They ponder why the franchise lost its touch and debate the quality of recent releases—spoiler alert: they weren't impressed. Then, in an unexpected segue, the guys dive into hospice protocols, complete with tales of medical bureaucracy and why people in nursing homes don't exactly need surprise visits from the police. And as a grand finale, Joe demands the science behind toilet skid marks (because priorities), to which Reese responds with a lesson on fatty lipids—of course. It's equal parts awkward, absurd, and undeniably informative…we hope you hate it!Patreon: www.patreon.com/pickleandbootshop Merch: www.bonfire.com/store/the-pickle-and-boot-shop--shop/ Email: thepickleandbootshop@gmail.com Instagram: joeandreesepabs Diabolical Discussion by Daniel Rock: facebook.com/groups/diabolicaldiscussion Good Eats: beefaro
Joe and Reese are back with the first episode of their new format. In this episode, Joe reveals his love of eggnog flavored tea of which Reese does not approve of. That is the first ever conversation of the new format. Then the guys talk a bunch of random stuff which I think is a new segment and then they close out the show doing another new segment.
