Hi Friends! In this faith-based podcast, we delve into the stories, memories and messages that have shaped our lives. Our hope is that you can draw life and truth from the conversations we will be sharing with some very special people. We are here to shar
Hey Friends! Who knew faith and coffee had so much in common. Today we shared a coffee and conversation with Brodie Collins. An old friend of the twins who now works as a kids paster at his local church, is newly married, makes his own cold brew (plug to his business my mate Dave), and is soon to start a job at a coffee roastery. If you haven't caught on he lives and breathes coffee. In today's episode, we spoke about how people can be more grateful for having Jesus in their life, what it means for God to leave the ninety-nine to come after us and lastly how the holy spirit is present and working in our lives.
Friends! My gosh, we've missed you. It's been a few weeks! I have to say, it wasn't cool of us to drop off like that but at the same time, we've got some seriously exciting news. Ben got engaged! And you know, he's been thinking a lot about how amazing God's timing is. And well, that's all he wanted to talk about today! So stop looking at your watch, and look up. You are right where you are meant to be
Episode 86: When You Run Your Race Freed with Gabriel Chicoine
Episode 84: The Call to Fix Your Inside World
Today I'm joined by Wesley Inglis who isn't just a good friend but potentially my future brother in law. In today's episode we spoke about Wes's journey in faith, why it is important to keep faith simple and what that looks like, the difference between being saved through faith opposed to just doing good works and lastly, how when you build things with your hands, they end up building you.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest...for my yoke is easy and my burden is light" Matthew 11: 28 & 30. As people, we always want to be in control of our lives. We own our experiences because they help make up who we are. And so when it comes to trusting those experiences and giving them to God, it can be a real struggle. Today's episode is all about how and why you should give it all to God. I spoke all about one of my favourite bible verses, what it means to be weary and burden, what the heck a yoke is and lastly. How despite all of life's hardships and struggles, Jesus is right there next to you. Enjoy this episode.
This week we are joined by a beautiful elementary school teacher Hanna Beth Paul. As you might know, Paige and I are actually studying to be primary school teachers just like our Mum. Aside from seeing how cute Hanna's classroom is, we knew that she had a very similar calling to teaching to us. Today is just a candid conversation all about that calling. Paige and Hanna spoke about how she tries to embody the qualities of Jesus in all of her interactions, how the fruits of the spirit are brought through action, not just words, why it's so important to respond to the call God has on your life and lastly, just why it's so important to trust in gods plan. This episode was a little selfish of us because we know not everyone wants to be a etcher, but as a Christian, in a way we are all called to be teachers. We hope you loved this episode. Have the best week.
Today's episode is a bit of a special one. I set up a picnic rug under the stars, in reality under the clouds but you guys can't see that so who cares Abi and I had a magnificent conversation about awe and wonder. About being significantly insignificant. We spoke about the mystery of the universe and heaven and how beautiful God's creation truly is. After listening to a sermon called Indescribile by Pastor Louie Giglio we were reminded how freaking incredible it is that we can go outside and look up at a galaxy filled with hundreds and hundreds of billions of stars, all of which God knows by name. The same God who made everything made you and me. And thats pretty damn incredible. And well, we just wanted to talk about that. Sometimes faith can be proved by science. We hope you enjoyed this episode and maybe even found a new appreciation for everything around and above you. Indescribable | Pastor Louie Giglio https://youtu.be/Qh4HcVY2_KE
Welcome back to another episode of A Love Like This...Today we wanted to talk all about community..more so the importance of community. Surrounding yourself with people who share similar faith values to you is so important. Not only do you get to meet people in the same walk and season of life as you, but you also get exposed to people you can learn from. People you can rely on and who rely on you! Church is just one place you can find this community. Lately, though our connect groups we have come to realise how big of a part these people play in our lives. It can be hard to find your tribe, so it's important to step out of your comfort zone. You never know what you will find or whom you'll meet! In this episode, we also spoke about how as Christians, we are called to be the salt of the earth. That means surrounding yourself with believers and non believers alike. We hope you enjoy this episode. Here is a challenge for this week, step out and try and make one friend from a new group of people. You never know what common ground you will find. Hopefully, after listening to this episode you can come to better appreciate the value of community. We will catch you guys next Saturday.
Our incredible guest today, Jereme Vasquez shares that exact calling. Jereme has a successful YouTube channel where most of this content is centred on retiring early and becoming financially independent all through the lens of Christ. Jereme is a father and husband, lives debt-free and has a whole lot of wisdom to share. In today's episode, we spoke about the importance of not idolising money and instead of using it as a tool to live a life built around your values and not materialism, how to be more intentional with your money and how that leads to contentment and gratitude, practical ways you can get out of a season of financial stuckness and what is probably my favourite topic, how the ancient wisdom book Ecclesiastes set Jereme and his wife grace on a path to financial independence. This week we are joined in person! Who hoo with one of our closest friends Jessica Dawkins. We have such a cool story of how we met Jess and you'll hear about it in this episode. We are just so blessed to have had her come over and record this episode with us and this one is one of my favourites. Make sure to check out more of Jess's music at INYouth Worship on Spotify & Apple Music. I always tell my closest friends that I know the friendship is from God when I feel closer to him after just being with them and that is exactly how I feel with Jess. We spoke about so much this episode: We spoke about her adventures of living in Phoenix Arizona for five years going to high school in America and going to summer camp in Ojai California, About her love for worship and what her songwriting process looks like We spoke about what worship means to us. We also spoke about the armour of God, what it is and why you should wear it as well as so much more. We know this was pretty much just a candid conversation but guys Jess is so incredibly genuine and just her everyday stories and perspectives teach us so much about life and Jesus. Aside from being the coolest worship leader we know, Jess is such an intelligent songwriter and musician. We hope from this episode you took away that worship and praise is a form of prayer, to never stray away from opportunity, and lastly the importance of putting on your armour of God everyday and lastly. Today we are joined with our beautiful friend Emma Russell. We have known Emma for many years now and she was actually our English and drama teacher for three years in high school. We are so beyond grateful for her wisdom and kindness during school and her friendship after graduating. As a mum and teacher she is incredibly wise and has a lot to share. We hope from this episode you took away that you will face seasons of self doubt but just know Jesus has got your back. Also, sometimes in becoming a Christian you might not have a big grand testimony and that is totally okay. It doesn't matter how you find the relationship as long as you are committed to it. We will catch you guys next Saturday. This episode is brought to you by Stonebraker Lawyers. Visit stonebrakerlawyers.com.au to learn more.
Have you guys ever felt like the little things you do in life could have an eternal impact? Today we had such a life-giving conversation with our friend Jaclyn who lives all the way in Ohio. Jaclyn has a blog called Tidings with J. https://www.tidingsfromjay.com/ She is only 18 but has so much wisdom to share. We pray this episode would make a vast impact on the way you live your life and get you thinking about the things that could essentially make an eternal impact on not just your own life but the lives of the people you encounter. Just to recap for you guys, in this episode we spoke about Jaclyn and her journey, how God changed her heart to make life more meaningful by removing meaningless habits, as well as what things we should be changing in our own every day to have a more eternal impact. Have an amazing week and we'll catch you guys next Saturday. This episode is brought to you by Stonebraker Lawyers. Visit stonebrakerlawyers.com.au to learn more.

This week, we thought we would bring everything back full circle. The twins and I headed over to the lovely Pastors of our Church Carole, and Jack Hanes' home. Abi & Paige had an incredible conversation with Ps Carole about the unknowingness of faith, what to do if your feel like you are amongst the unknown and how to navigate those seasons through Christ and lastly ventured through Ps Carol's own moments of mystery. The best part, this season started with a fantastic interview with Ps Jack. And now here we are. If you are in a season of unknowingness we hope you took something away from this episode. Always look towards and trust in God Enjoy this incredible episode and season finale of A Love Like This.
Hey friends, welcome back to A love like this. Today I sat down with my good pal Jarrad Meney. The twins and I have known Jarrad for a couple of years now and only recently have him and I become close friends. Jarrad runs a production company with his brother Callum, is a qualified audio engineer and walks a wonderful life alongside Jesus. Today's episode is centred on leaning into God as well as finding contentment in what you have right now. We talked about the opportunities God presents us with and how to balance them, not idolising materialism and lastly finding and fulfilling our gifts and talents. Just remember, God is a constant and always there. In the good and the bad. Always lean into the opportunities you are presented with not away from them. Don't get swept up in the false importance of things. Focus on what is meaningful and will last. This episode is brought to you by Stonebraker Lawyers. Visit stonebrakerlawyers.com.au to learn more.
Maria Sarina is one of our dearest and nearest friends and also happens to be the founder of the friendship centre. This is just a quick disclaimer that this episode is quite a heavy one. We discuss topics of suicide, abuse, drugs and domestic violence. If you are sensitive to these topics, please feel free to stop by next week. However, in light of this, Maria has an incredible story on how Jesus is seen not only as her friend but truly her saviour. Jesus saved her life it's that simple. We want you all to listen to this incredible story because we know that you will find inspiration within it. Maria is a qualified counsellor and God as our witness, one of the greatest inspirations we know. This episode is brought to you by The Friendship Centre. It's thanksgiving week over in America, but for us Aussies, there is so much to be thankful for transitioning into the new Christmas season! We talk a lot about gratitude on the show! But this week Abi wanted to come on and encourage you to think about why we need to have gratitude in our lives, what happens we say “no” to an attitude of gratitude, and lastly how we can create more moments to be thankful for in our lives. There is so much to be thankful for when we do life with God. This episode is brought to you by Stonebraker Lawyers. Visit stonebrakerlawyers.com.au to learn more.
Today Ben and I spoke about how his little vegetable garden project shapes his outlook on life and faith. We spoke about just how symbolic planting crops can be, the importance of slowing down and using your hands, how growing plants gives you a sense of purpose and lastly how it can help you be more content in life. But in all seriousness, your life is like a seed that has been planted. Finding your faith is like sprouting. For most of us, we are still growing but once you start to set fruit make sure to put all of that love back into the world. And in case you haven't decided already, go and grow some veggies. Flourishing in the here and now is a concept our family is super passionate about. God is here with us right now! But how can we have exuberance about life if we are just constantly doing the same thing? This week Paige shares with Abi what happens when we flourish in the here and the now, and how do we flourish? This episode is such a great one that will inspire you to love your life right where you are! This episode is brought to you by Stonebraker Lawyers. Visit stonebrakerlawyers.com.au to learn more.

Mia and Abi are both currently single are learning so much through the books that they are reading. As they learn from both Paige and Ben and the dating stage that they are in, or their parents who have been married for over 25 years, Mia and Abi are learning so much in their single season. one thing is that there are truths that remain the same no matter what your relationship season looks like! We hope that you guys feel as tho you are in Mia and Abi's living room having a coffee and chatting with them. Enjoy! This episode is brought to you by The Friendship Centre. God knows what he is doing. We know this from Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not harm you plans to give you a hope and a future.” Sometimes it can be difficult for us to live out the good plans God has for us. This week we sit down to talk about the things that may be hindering us from living as best we can both internally and externally. We wanted to encourage you guys with the reminder that God has a good plan for your life despite how you may be feeling in this current moment. We hope that you guys enjoy this conversation. We were so excited to sit down with our beautiful Texas native Bryn Bittner. We are so inspired by her and her life, how confident she is in Christ and she has so much wisdom around not being afraid to speak up about your faith. In today's episode, we spoke about how Bryn finds ways to talk about her faith in her everyday life and job, how we should never be afraid of what other people think about our faith, and lastly how important it is to think eternally and not materialistically If there is one thing to take away from this episode it's to not ever be afraid to share and express your faith, especially to people you feel might judge you. We are called to share the love we have all been blessed with. This episode is brought to you by The Friendship Centre. Visit friendship-centre.com or call Maria on +61 426 282 214 to learn more.
We've got an extra special episode for you today. It's a little bit longer than usual, but we wanted to make sure our beautiful Mum Rachael Johnson had as much time to share everything about her incredibly genuine faith. Our Mum has been on the show before, but since season one she has grown so much in her faith. Today we spoke about what having genuine faith actually means, what it's like to truly love God, why she became a teacher as well as why she decided to study counselling. Lastly, we spoke about the incredible power of being grateful and acknowledging God winks. Honestly, nothing makes us feel more blessed then knowing we were raised by literally the most incredible Mum. We hope in just this short amount of time, you gain some of the wisdom we have been blessed with all our lives. We owe our Mum so much who we are and we hope you have taken something away from her guidance. This episode is brought to you by Stonebraker Lawyers. Visit stonebrakerlawyers.com.au to learn more.
Today we sat down with one of our new friends Heather Savonne. Heather is a worship leader and a faith blogger and has a whole lot of wisdom. If you are someone who struggles to understand Gods timing and his Devine plan for your life this episode is for you. Don't bypass the process for perfection, that is the crux of this episode that holds so much truth and power, that we have a wonderful God doing extraordinary things in the here and the now. Hey folks, the twins wanted to give you an important announcement, never get your wisdom teeth removed. The worst side effect is not being able to record podcast intros. But seriously, we are so excited to have one of our favourite friends Nandy Martin back on the show, it was actually her birthday a few days ago so this is all the more special. In this conversation Abi spoke about Nandy's experience with Maverick City and how amazing it was, Nandy's song All I Need and how it was such a reminder that when all else fails, or when all things are perfectly good Jesus is all you need. They got to talk about the value of meaningful relationships and about the beauty found in seasons of singleness! This episode is brought to you by Stonebraker Lawyers. Paige I turned 20 a month ago and we thought it would be cool to just reflect on what lessons we learned during those years of being a teenager. We know we are only 20, and we still have a lot to learn. Though we hope that maybe if you are a teenager listening to this that you would be encouraged to learn from the things that we learnt enjoy guys. Some of the lessons we touch on are: Stop trying to be liked Don't compromise who you are for who people want you to be. Friends last for a season a reason or a lifetime There is beauty found in uncertainty and change God doesn't care about the perfection of our hearts he cares about the direction of our hearts This episode is brought to you by The Friendship Centre. Today we have a bit of a unique episode for you. If you know us you know we absolutely love the chosen. Ours and probably everyone else's favourite scene is when Jesus is talking to Mathew and planning the sermon of the mount which is where he speaks the beatitudes. Now if you're like us the Beatitudes can be super hard to understand but in reality, they are the clearest roadmap to finding God. Today we wanted to break them down with our brother Ben and we hope that through this conversation you not only understand them more but find ways to become closer to Jesus. This episode is brought to you by Stonebraker Lawyers. Visit stonebrakerlawyers.com.au to learn more. The Beatitudes Matthew 5:3–12 01. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 02. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 03. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 04. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. 05. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. 06. Blessed are pure in heart, for they shall see God. 07. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. 08. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. The Beatitudes excerpt in this episode was taken from "The Chosen, Season 2, Episode 8". Have you struggled with saying yes to God? Maybe you're afraid of stepping out and saying yes to the things that God is inviting you into. A person who has said yes to God time and time again, who lives her life in rhythm and surrender, is the beautiful Rebekah Lyons. To be honest this was a huge dream come true for me. Rebekah's book rhythms of renewal freed me from my own experience of anxiety and I honestly cannot wait for her devotional. Having someone you can relate to in your faith journey makes the world of difference in growing closer to God. In this weeks episode, we are talking about her brand new devotional coming called "A Surrendered Yes". Rebekah has a beautiful story of adoption and freedom. After saying yes to god Rebekah realised that saying yes to who God says you are, even in the small, ordinary moments of life, can create renewed spiritual vitality. Today we are joined with our incredible friend Elyse Albritton. Elyse is an elementary school teacher in Louisiana and uses her classroom as her missions field. She absolutely loves sharing Jesus with her community. In a world where it can be so easy to become somebody that we aren't. Elyse reminded us of the ways that she stays true to herself despite the constant pressures the culture throws on her. Overall Elyse has become such a dear and near friend who is full of joy and light and we know for sure that you are going to be encouraged to go and find your purpose with god. We spoke about the importance of inspiring the next generation, how your passion stems from your purpose, how to find that purpose and where to begin. By working in a classroom, Elyse is constantly reminded of our childlike faith and how God sees all of us. She reminded us that sometimes we question our path, but God is always right there leading us to our purpose and passion. Always remember, your purpose is when you are doing something that makes you feel closest to God. Enjoy.
Today we are gonna give you some or actual tips to help you dive into your quiet time, learn about God and his word and all that he has to offer from this beautiful life Starting a quiet time routine can be tricky, but reviving and strengthening it can be just as challenging. Like all relationships, they take work and time. Our relationship with God is no different. Our six tips are: Wake up 1 hour before your day begins and get quiet Create an atmosphere to encounter him Posture your heart through prayer and praise Get out a pen and Journal Get into the word and dice deep And finally, pour out!
Have you ever thought to yourself I don't feel enough? I'm ugly or not worthy? Comparison and not feeling like we are not enough is a problem that tends to be recurring in our lives. The thing that we have learnt is that these issues are something that can hold us back from living life and using our God-given potential. In this conversation, I promise you that through Bree's wisdom you will find deep encouragement. We spoke about defeating the negative thoughts we have about ourselves, self-love, our identity in Christ and more. Make sure to check out Breas Instagram & Youtube below: Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0Ciz0itKhzFnyEqIAU6tkw (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0Ciz0itKhzFnyEqIAU6tkw) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/breanacooney/ (https://www.instagram.com/breanacooney/)
I'm sure you have heard of God, but do you really know God? Do you trust God? Out of everyone we know, we don't think there is anyone more perfect to speak on this than the Ps of our very own church, Ps Jack Hanes. Ps Jack moved to Sydney nearly 40 years from Arizona and started our church from scratch. And remember, this was well before church planting was as popular or commoditised as it is now. To make this decision, Ps Jack had to put all the trust he could muster into his faith. He and his wife Ps Carole put faith over everything. In today's episode, we speak about how you can start putting your own faith and trust in God, the power of retrospect in realising when we did trust in our faith, why it's important to clear your head from the noise of the world and lastly how we as Christians can be more understanding of people who haven't yet found their faith.
The Neighbourhood Series | Why Jesus Should Be Your Closest Neighbour Now unfortunately this is the last episode of the neighbourhood series and Abi & Paige are still away but we had the great idea of asking some people in our neighbourhood who we have already interviewed, one last question. Why should Jesus be our closest neighbour? There is a lot I could I say that could wrap up the neighbourhood series, how about I leave you with this. I want a friendship first above all else Love my neighbor as myself In the moments no one sees Lord, help me be A little more like mercy' a little more like grace A little more like kindness' goodness, love, and faith A little more like patience's a little more like peace A little more like Jesus, a little less like me Look your neighbourhood is your opportunity to fill your life with love and joy. Don't tarnish it with toxic people, or negative thinking. We love all of you so much, the neighbourhood series might be done and dusted but we will be here next Saturday just like every Saturday. Seya folks.
Episode 50: The Neighbourhood Series | How to Be More Childlike Abi and Paige are actually away at the moment so for once they get to play the role of the guest and jumped on a zoom call with myself and our sister Mia. Today we talk all about what it means to be childlike, how we can bring back a sense of innocence and play into our lives, how the world really is like a neighbourhood and that we should go out and explore it and lastly what we wish are younger selves would tell us now. If you want to be more childlike, there is a couple of things you gotta do. First off, try and remove as many distractions as possible. If you want to be present with your friends leave your phones at home, if you won't enjoy outside leaving the AirPods at home, whatever it is try and remove all of the obstacles that stop you from materialising your imagination. Second, always remember the world is like th neighbourhood you grew up in, it can be as familiar as you want it to be. Go out and explore it, come to know it. Lastly, reflect on exactly what you would want to hear from your younger self.

Today Ben is joined with not just one of the most qualified physiotherapist we know, but also one of the most sincere and honest people in our neighbourhood, Mr Andy Pedrana. Ben met Andy quite a few years ago and they immediately hit it off. Today they chat about how you can manifest and change your own definition of success, Andy's journey in finding his own sense of faith and purpose, life-changing habits and some overall quality book club banter. So what did we learn? Success shouldn't always just be attributed to your hard work. That's how you get lost in pride, always try to help as many people as you can by whatever means you can. Mediation and having time for yourself, particularly in the mornings is critical to living a fulfilled and productive life. And lastly, let go. No matter what happens in life it's all good. We hope you enjoyed this weeks episode of the neighbourhood series, well catch you guys next Saturday.
Today is an interesting day! For the first time ever, our Dad Terry Johnson's hops on a mic and helps guide an absolutely incredible conversation with his good friend Peter Graham. So incredible in fact that this episode of the neighbourhood series will be quite a lot longer than our usual length. I have a feeling you aren't going to mind though... Peter is almost 78 years old and so we figured our usual 30 minutes may be a stretch to fit his lifetime of wisdom in. Alongside many things, Peter spends most of his days guiding older people to a retirement that is fulfilling and well-lived. But don't leave if you are not a pensioner. A few years ago Peter was given 6 days to live. He had and still has stage four cancer. 100% was the death rate at the time. 100% or in another way you are absolutely, unquestionably going to die. Now for all of you listening If you can awsner this question feel free to stop listening, but if you can't you would better stick around. What do you do, when a doctor says to you “We will handle everything, all you need to do is stay alive”...
The Neighbourhood Series | Sandra & Paris' Story
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD SERIES If there is anyone worthy of taking the spot as the first guest on "The Neighbourhood Series" it's our good friend Jordan Donohue! Now we haven't exactly been friends for a long time, but it sure feels like a lifetime. Jordan moved out of home at 17, has worked more jobs than most retirees and has some incredible messages to share. Did we mention he is only 20? We talk about some of the struggles Jordan has gone through, the power of love and faith as well as just how important it is to make meaningful connections with those around you. Enjoy!
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD SERIES Today we aren't yet joined by one of our secretly incredible neighbours, instead, we felt the need to explain how this series came to be, and why asking ourselves "Who is influencing us?" is just so important.
"To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life" - The Secret Life of Walter Mitty Hi folks! Ben here, this quote pretty much sums up everything I believe to be true about adventuring. Today, Abi and I sat down and discussed what adventures look like in our everyday lives as well as some of the more rare and memorable moments we have experienced! Together we share just how available living a life full of adventures can be. Hopefully, after hearing this episode you can start to explore more, become more curious and allow yourself to adventure. Enjoy!
How do you spend your time? In this weeks episode, we sat down with our big to discuss what we believe to be the five biggest time wasters. We speak about the importance of removing things in your life and replacing them with something better, how sometimes you need to remove things to improve things, and finally if you are somebody who is struggling with distractions or burnout to let go and let God.

She has also worked alongside and has since been endorsed by the legendary, Zig Ziglar and can often be spotted cohosting the Ziglar Show, a Podcast that has exceeded 40 Million Downloads. In today's episode, the twins break down two of Michelle's core “PRINCE piles” centred around finding your purpose and uncovering what your story truly is.
