John and Lisa Bevere are prominent figures in contemporary Christian ministry, known for their passionate teachings, bestselling books, and global outreach through their organization, Messenger International. Supporters highlight the Bevere's sincerity, relatability, and commitment to core Christian truths like salvation through Christ, while critics argue they promote extra-biblical revelation and prophecy, straying from Scripture. So what's the truth? Are the Bevere's committed to teaching "core Christian truths like salvation through Christ"? What do the Beveres teach? Do they proclaim the Biblical Gospel or something else? After 5 months of research, watching and reading what they teach, I wanted to present what I have learned and answer the question I often hear... In this episode I talk with pastor and theologian Dr. Allan Bevere. Dr. Bevere wrote the 2011 book The Politics of Witness that played a major role in shaping my understanding of Christian political engagement. We discuss many of the major arguments put forth in that book, which are still relevant today. Dr. Bevere argues that the church has given in to Constantinianism, the idea that Christians should rule over others using the levers of temporal political power. The Enlightenment domesticated Christianity by appropriating its moral teaching to build modern nation states, and Christians on both the left and right want to impose their values on others through state power. Bevere explains how this compromises the witness of the church and how following Jesus can restore the witness of the Church to the world. In 'The Bait of Satan,' John Bevere delivers a transformative message on the dangers of offense and the power of forgiveness. Drawing from biblical passages and personal stories, Bevere explores how harboring offense leads to betrayal, hatred, and spiritual deception. He emphasizes the importance of spiritual resilience, continual forgiveness, and maintaining a conscience free from offense towards God and others. Through compelling anecdotes and practical insights, Bevere urges believers to release bitterness, seek reconciliation, and embrace unwavering forgiveness, adding that our handling of offenses shapes our spiritual growth and future reactions.
God made humans male and female not to build a divisive wall around their strengths and weaknesses, but to create a powerful union of husband and wife. Both have traits the other doesn't have. It doesn't make men and women better or worse... it makes them different. New York Times bestselling author Lisa Bevere is pushing back against the secular culture's obsession with gender ideology that she says is destroying the God-given image of male and female. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, Bevere talks about her book "The Fight for Female, Reclaiming Our Divine Identity". Bevere is no feminist. In fact, she says feminism to her is teaching women how to be men. Instead, she's empowering women to be women; strong enough to be wives and mothers, and noble enough to see in their male counterparts a co-traveler on a journey of faith.
