And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (Luke 2:10-14) *1/ The nature of the tidings - Luke 2:10 2/ The tidings - Luke 2:11 3/ The sign - Luke 2:12 4/ Joy in heaven - Luke 2:13-14 5/ The tidings published by the shepherds - Luke 2:17 6/ How the tidings were received by those that heard them - Luke 2:18-20* **Sermon Summary:** The sermon centers on the profound significance of the angelic announcement of Christ's birth in Luke 2:10–14, presenting the gospel as good tidings of great joy for all people, not merely for the powerful or religious elite, but for humble shepherds and sinners alike. It emphasizes that these tidings are rooted in the divine reality of a real human birth in Bethlehem, fulfilled in the Messiah, Jesus Christ, who is both Saviour and Lord, sent to redeem His people from their sins. The response of the shepherds—immediate, joyful, and public—models the proper Christian reaction: not passive hearing, but active proclamation and worship, as exemplified by Mary's deep reflection and the shepherds' return in glorifying God. The sermon calls listeners to examine their own hearts, asking whether the message of Christ's birth has truly taken root, producing wonder, reverence, and a life of worship and testimony.

Christmas Tidings to Man and Woman by Bishop Joaquin G. Molina
The birth of Jesus Christ represents the fulfillment of God's greatest promise to be with His people. The name Emmanuel, meaning God with us, reveals that Jesus came to bridge the gap between divine holiness and human need caused by sin. Isaiah prophesied 700 years before Christ's birth that a virgin would conceive and bear a son who would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Jesus had to be both fully God and fully man to accomplish salvation - as the Son of God, He could live perfectly and die for our sins, and as the Son of Mary, He could represent humanity. God enters our darkness and difficult circumstances, just as Jesus was born in humble conditions, bringing hope to those who feel invisible or forgotten.
There are many supposed saviours that have come into the world promising us many things. Out of all of them, there is only one true Saviour Whose work has brought glory to God and peace to us. This Sunday morning we will see how the birth of Christ the Saviour has brought us peace and glory to God.

Send us a textWhat is the greatest gift we receive at Christmas? In this Day 20 Advent devotional, Cass explores the joy of the gospel through the words of William Tyndale (1494–1536) — the man who translated the Bible into English so that everyone, from ploughboy to king, could read God's Word.Tyndale describes the gospel using the Greek word Evangelion — good, merry, glad, and joyful tidings — news so wonderful it makes the heart leap for joy. This episode reflects on why the gospel is not merely information, tradition, or religion, but the good news of freedom, forgiveness, and life in Christ.Tyndale reminds us that Christ has fought and conquered sin, death, and the devil, and that all who believe are given His righteousness, His life, and His salvation — not by merit, but by grace. As we approach Christmas, this devotional calls us to refocus our hearts on what truly brings joy, and to boldly share this good news with our families, friends, neighbours, and communities. In this episode, you'll hear:Why the gospel is called “joyful tidings”How Christ's victory brings true freedom and happinessWhy the gospel alone satisfies the human heartA powerful reminder of the cost paid to give us Scripture in our own languageA call to live — and share — the joy of salvation this Christmas

Tidings of Comfort and Joy with Joshua LiemIsaiah 35:1-10; Matthew 11:2-11, James 5:7-10Gaudete Sunday invites us into the strange Advent tension of joy in the midst of darkness. We will explore how Scripture teaches us to find joy not by escaping suffering but by paying attention: to creation rejoicing, to John the Baptist waiting in prison, and to the patient hope of the prophets. Come discover how attentive presence with God and one another opens us to a deeper, surprising joy in this season.
We expect tidings at a birth—but not at a tomb.Yet Scripture tells us that the greatest good news ever spoken echoes from an empty grave. In Week 3 of our King of Kings series, we trace the story of salvation from the fields of Bethlehem to the emptiness of the tomb and discover this powerful truth: the angels could announce joy at Jesus' birth because they already knew how the story would end.
The Christmas story reveals God's pattern of choosing humble, overlooked people to accomplish His greatest works. When announcing the Messiah's birth, God chose shepherds, a young village girl named Mary, and an aging priest named Zechariah rather than powerful leaders. Mary's deep knowledge of Scripture enabled her to trust God's impossible promise and respond with joyful obedience. Zechariah initially doubted but later prophesied about serving God without fear through the coming Messiah. Their responses teach us that knowing God's Word builds the trust necessary for faithful obedience. Just as Christ's first coming guarantees His second coming, we can trust God's promises and participate in His kingdom work through humble faith.

The Advent season reminds us that Christ's first coming brought both comfort and joy to a broken world. When the angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would bear the Messiah, he revealed a King unlike any earthly ruler - one who would reign forever with gentleness and justice. Though Jesus entered the world humbly in a stable, this humble birth leads to eternal glory as the King of kings. Isaiah prophesied that this Messiah would not break bruised reeds or snuff out flickering wicks, showing His tender care for the broken and weary. The same Jesus who gently heals wounded hearts is the mighty King whose kingdom will have no end, bringing perfect justice to all nations.

Britt as Adam KadeElijah-Justus Lewis as RobbieBRAN'S TIDINGS FOR THE SEASON SYNOPSISThe movie kicks off with Lucy and her son Robbie watching the news—well, really Robbie is watching because he wants to be a news anchor when he grows up. Lucy, on the other hand, hates the news, specifically news anchor Adam Kade.Lucky for Robbie, he's going on a field trip to the station. He ditches his group to sit next to Adam and do some “bits.” Adam is confused, but the rest of the news crew loves it. Robbie even tells Adam he needs to work on smiling and sharing good news, and encourages him to try to get viewers to come around more.Luckily, Robbie leaves his folder at the station with his address on it. Adam goes to return it—and ends up asking if Robbie wants to shadow him at the station for a week. He's unsure at first, but he ends up taking a liking to Robbie—and a different kind of liking to Lucy.At the end of the week, Adam talks to Lucy about what it would take for her to start watching the news. She says they need more good news—and that he needs to wear more color. Since he thinks she's hot, Adam takes her advice to heart. He shops for a red jacket, bumps into Lucy and Robbie, and agrees to help with the Angel Wish Toy Drive funded by Thrivent Financial. He decides to do a story on it, thinking it's the uplifting kind Lucy wants—but his producer says no, it's too happy.Adam pushes back and goes with the story anyway, angering his boss. He takes some time off, which he spends with Lucy and Robbie. They go pick out a Christmas tree, decorate it, and sparks fly.Soon, Adam gets a call from his boss: his happy story is crushing it online. They want more. So Adam starts reporting only happy stories—like one about a retired art teacher decorating trees in the woods to win back his long-lost love.Feeling good about himself and his job, Adam asks Lucy out. Their date ends with a kiss—but is cut short when he gets a call about a Chicago interview tomorrow. Lucy overhears and is upset. Has this all been about his promotion? She's sad for herself but mad for Robbie. On the night of Robbie's school Christmas concert, just as it's ending, Adam comes running in and says, “ONE MORE THING!” He lets Robbie interview him, and it ends with Robbie asking what's next for Adam's career. He says he's staying put. Lucy comes up, and they kiss. Watch the show on Youtube - www.deckthehallmark.com/youtubeInterested in advertising on the show?
