Magnolia Network announced the premiere date for their new series Back to the Frontier, set to debut July 10, 2025 on Magnolia Network and Max. The series, executive produced by Chip and Joanna Gaines, follows three American families as they reimagine their lives as 1880s homesteaders, challenged to forgo the comforts of the present day for a more analog life on the frontier. "This series taps into something we've always believed-that stepping away from the noise of everyday life can bring you closer to what matters most," said Chip and Joanna Gaines. "It is proof that no matter where you find yourself, the most important part of home is the people you share it with." In the series, three families hailing from across the country join together in the wilderness surrounded by ten thousand acres of nature, without the modern conveniences of technology, running water, or electricity. The Lopers (Alabama), Hanna-Riggs (Texas), and Halls (Florida) must live on the frontier for eight weeks, reinforcing their own shelters, raising livestock, collecting food, and rationing their supplies. Through this immersive experience, the families will have to reflect on their relationships and navigate the challenges that come with an 1880s lifestyle. "This exciting new series invites viewers to step back in time and experience the challenges of the American frontier," said Magnolia Network President Allison Page. "By immersing three families in the realities of 1880s life, we provided them-and our viewers-an authentic glimpse into the resilience and grit required to survive. Tribal Knowledge Killed this Shop: A Machine Shop Owner Tells the Story with Jereme RogersAfter a near-death motorcycle accident, Jereme Rogers fell in love with the machining industry and decided that he wanted to own a shop someday. When the owners of TK Machine decided they wanted to retire, Jereme and they eventually came to an agreement that he would buy the shop. After finalizing the transaction, Jereme soon realized there was a lot more to owning a business than he ever realized, and that it was much harder than it appeared from the outside. When another local company recruited away his top 4 most experienced machinists, and years of tribal knowledge walked out the door, followed by his top 4 customers swamped him with new work, the dominos started falling. Jereme fought as hard as he could, but ultimately decided to close down the business. In Episode 207 I sit down with my friend Jereme Bounds. Jereme is someone I immediately took a liking to, he's a great human being and easy to talk to and get to know. His kids attend my jiu jitsu class and he recently pulled me aside seeking advice on pursuing health and fitness as he recently tipped the scales at over 300lbs. I shot him straight and told him what I'd recommend he changes, and he jumped all in. It's only been a week, and I know that's nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I want to highlight his story as he took those initial steps to change his ways because so many Americans are sitting in that purgatory and failing to get on the path. Every action starts with a thought and then followed by action and I believe Jereme has set his life on a new trajectory. Behind the meter, the wind has some vexing characteristics that until now have kept it largely off the playing field for large facility operators. One Energy has seemingly cracked the code by offering a bespoke, white-glove approach. Their 1.5 MW turbines produce up to 5 million kWh per year of on-site Clean energy (note the high capacity factor). They install, own, and operate turbines and sell a PPA to their industrial customers. My guest today is Jereme Kent, founder, and CEO of One Energy. Jereme is a wind industry veteran of 16 years. One Energy is an industrial power company that helps large energy users build modern, tailored, on-site power grids for their facilities.
