There is also a brief discussion of the new "Avatar" trailer. However! This is filled with spoilers for the new Doctor Strange adventure, so if you have not watched skip ahead to the minute 40 for the discussion of our film of the week... "Spirited Away"! Hayao Miyazaki's highly acclaimed masterpiece that has set the bar for a generation of animation standards. We discuss what makes animation a complete art form and the merits the style brings.

The Oscar televised schedule has changed and the hosts of this show are NOT happy about it. Jacob and Bo kick off the show by going after the entire Academy as a whole. They then discuss the merits of a Tom Holland led blockbuster, the new Christopher Nolan film, and Bo's recent dive into Kung-Fu films. Oscar Nominations are here!!! As Christmas season arrives for movie nerds everywhere Bo and Jacob gather around the hearth to discuss and make themselves angry over the entirely debatable award show. Ahhh, a tradition unlike any other. They are also joined by a surprise guest from the Album Book Club Expanded Universe to talk about The Alchemist's recent short film he created the score for. The guest sticks around for our chat about the Ice Cube classic- "Friday"! Quotes and symbolism galore, it is a chat for the ages.
The guys kick off the pod by reminiscing on the good times we have spent with the creative geniuses that make up the team on the "Jackass" films. It's a true walk down memory lane being able to chat about our pals Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, and Chris Pontius. We cover some more trashy movie news having to do with "Moonfall" and the "Fast & Furious" franchise, then round out the first half of the pod by giving our recommendations of films new to streaming this month! A film worthy of a retrospective, it continues to be impactful even 14 years later.
In a slow month of January Bo and Jacob have to find things to get excited about until the movie schedule picks up. Luckily, Scream is coming out and Oscars talk is beginning to ramp up! The two come back from break to discuss Denis Villeneuve's 2013 film, Enemy. Tune in to hear Jacob's insights into the convoluted mystery, that he got to personally here at a live screening and Q&A with Villeneuve himself. The hosts discuss everything in the film from camera work, lens tint, and of course the spiders!

The guys are back from their week off and are really diving into the new release slate! House of Gucci premiered over the weekend to lots of praise and lots of hatred- tune in to see which host liked it more. Over the week there were also fist fights about Spider-Man, more Dune news somehow, and a new Paul Thomas Anderson film receiving limited screenings. Thankfully, we were able to sneak Jacob into an early showing of Licorice Pizza so he could give us his thoughts. Out of the break Bo and Jacob talk about the 2007 film There Will Be Blood, where it sits in PTA's filmography, and the legendary stature of Daniel Day Lewis's performance.
In another action packed week, Bo and Jacob kick off the conversation with some discussion of Netflix's new record breaking film, Red Notice. They follow up the opening segment by spending entirely to long on Spider-Man: No Way Home and any theories surrounding the next flagship Marvel movie. They close out the first half with some discussion of the new product from Paul Thomas Anderson, Licorice Pizza. The two come back from the break to discuss PTA's 2002 film, Punch-Drunk Love.

They delve into the rise of Neon Films, and try to figure out if they will be able to compete with A24. They wrap up the first half with a discussion of Eternals, and the Fast and Furious Franchise's beef within the family. They then turn the attention onto No Country For Old Men (50:00). The movie selection of the week for the Coen Bros. and an iconic Western, the duo talk about just how much this movie means to them. This episode gets FUN!

The Halloween episodes are off to a strong start! About as strong as our October movie slate. Bo and Jacob go over the new releases, talk about the fantastic Andrew Garfield, and look ahead to some new movies. They also give off a healthy dose of Bond talk to celebrate No Time to Die! Following an ad break, they get into the movie of the week, Hereditary. Ari Aster's film is a family drama with a pretty intense twist and the guys break it down! They also announce the movie for next week. There will be no poll, it was chosen by the celebrity guest! Stay tuned until the end for the official announcement of the star of the next episode!
To start off the pod Jacob and Bo go into Dear Evan Hanson, a new Broadway to Hollywood adaption that should not exist. Following a heated discussion on the state of musicals in motion pictures, the duo breaks down the entire October release slate! An exciting crop of movies is coming out and it is only the beginning. After the ad break the two discuss 2016's Best Picture Nominee: Room. Room is an intense film centered around topics like kidnapping, self-harm, and sexual assault so if you prefer not to hear about it, we totally understand. The film however is a sad but beautiful story about the perseverance and strength that the human spirit can muster. To round out the pod, Bo fills everyone in on the October schedule (there will be fun new changes to the form), and gives off a hint about who the FIRST celebrity guest will be.
