And what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. Father, glorify Your Name. … Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.” He said this to show by what kind of death He was going to die. … [Then Jesus] departed and hid Himself from them. The sermon centers on the transformative call to spiritual death and resurrection in Christ, urging believers to seek heavenly things rather than earthly pursuits, as their true life is now hidden with Christ in God. Drawing from Colossians 3:1–4, it emphasizes that genuine discipleship requires the daily crucifixion of the old self—its desires, pride, and sin—so that Christ alone may be revealed in the believer's life. The preacher underscores that this death is not a one-time event but a continual surrender, illustrated through personal anecdotes and biblical truths from Romans, Ephesians, and Philippians, affirming that only when the flesh is dead can Christ's life be fully manifested. The message is both convicting and comforting: while the world offers fleeting pleasures, the believer's hope lies in Christ's return, when they will appear with Him in glory, and their life will be so concealed in Him that others see only Him. Ultimately, the call is to reorient every aspect of life—work, marriage, ministry, and fellowship—around this hidden, Christ-centered existence.
