THINK YOU KNOW CELEBS? Take The Spill's Pop Culture Quiz here.A major international press tour just kicked off with a comically polite red carpet appearance, but it’s a bombshell headline that has set the internet on fire. While the rest of the media ran with rumours, this outlet went all out and seemingly confirmed that one of Hollywood’s most beloved power couples Zendaya and Tom Holland has secretly tied the knot.Plus a massive, star-studded casting announcement for the upcoming season of our favourite cosy streaming mystery series has left the internet absolutely reeling. With an unbelievable lineup of British and Irish icons joining the call sheet, the budget for this production must be completely out of control. Finally, Gracie Abrams has just dropped a raw, in-depth profile ahead of her highly anticipated third studio album, and she’s addressing her love life head-on. She reveals a deeply relatable insecurity about being in a stable, happy relationship with one of the internet's favourite leading men Paul Mescal, admitting she was terrified that being secure would completely destroy her drive to write music.Remember The Spill drops the tea twice a day in this feed so follow us for all the latest entertainment news OR you can WATCH our show in full length video on the Apple Podcast app - make sure your phone is up to date and enjoy the watch! The nostalgia bomb has officially detonated. Ryan and David are covering Spider-Man: No Way Home. This month on Puny Pod, the MCU rewatch podcast that covers the Marvel Cinematic Universe in release order, Ryan and David dig into the movie that made $1.9 billion dollars, broke the all-time trailer record, and — depending on who you ask — is either a top-tier MCU entry or a brilliantly engineered feelings delivery system masquerading as a film. Spoiler: they do not agree. At all. But they both have a very good time arguing about it. Along the way they break down the comics, the wild behind-the-scenes story of how this movie almost didn't happen, the villain who absolutely steals the show, and why Andrew Garfield might deserve a little more credit than he ever got. Plus post-credits scenes, MVP picks, and Ryan making a confession about his relationship with nostalgia that explains a lot. Themes by J.R. The Couch Critics are back in the living room, and this week, we're trading popcorn for medkits as we dive into Mel Gibson's 2016 powerhouse, Hacksaw Ridge. We're breaking down Andrew Garfield's incredible performance as Desmond Doss—the man who went to hell and back without ever picking up a gun—and debating if the film's brutal realism
We talk a lot about traveling but what do we do when the trip is over? And how do we handle the sadness that comes with it? That's what Shelby and Andrew attempt to explore in this week's episode. Before that, we Muppets Recast Space Jam and talk about a Andrew Garfield, Florence Pugh and Biff.
James Cameron-Wilson found #2, the Enid Blyton fantasy The Magic Faraway Tree, to be a charmless, farcical misfire. With Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield, it is full of shouty overacting, with music numbers crammed in and is a wasted opportunity. #7 They Will Kill You is a grotesque horror film about a New York highrise which is a temple to Satan. It's another with a surprising 15 certificate. Amazon documentary Man on the Run is about Paul McCartney, covering the breakup of The Beatles to the murder of John Lennon. On Amazon, it starts promisingly but, while there's plenty of home video, there's little that's new. After a dispiriting week, James watched the harrowing but brilliant The Killing Fields to cheer himself up. It's on C4 and Plex. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Today we’re diving headfirst into the fantasy epic based on Enid Blyton's classic series, delivering magical worlds, a massive enchanted tree, and the kind of spectacle that makes you wish your living room was a cinema. While some of the modernised elements split us down the middle, the visual world-building is exactly what we dreamed of as kids. And Em has a review of the new slasher film that’s currently tearing up the cinema. With a Harry Potter fave taking on a wild new role and a plot full of gory surprises, we break down whether this hotel horror delivers or if it's just too bloody for its own good. Is it actually scary? Did Em spend the whole time covering her eyes? And why is this the perfect group cinema experience.Plus, we’ve started the new horror series from the Duffer Brothers - and it’s moodier, more claustrophobic, and far more unsettling than you’d think. It's a high-stakes wedding mystery that is so bingeable you’ll be up until 2am like Laura trying to figure out the twist. Three very different vibes. One very stacked weekend.Love binge-watching TV? Even in an enchanted tree where fairies and men with faces like the moon live, someone has to do the laundry. And in a film adaptation of the classic Enid Blyton book, The Magic Faraway Tree, that job falls to actress Jessica Gunning. She is Dame Washalot who, does a lot of laundry, carelessly tossing buckets of sudsy water down the tree, sometimes drenching children who discover the magic world in the branches. Jessica Gunning captured acting magic in 2024, staring in the hit series Baby Reindeer and wining just about every award going. She joins a stellar cast including Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy. The Magic Faraway Tree is in theaters now.

We recorded this episode on Friday the 13th, but Jonathan wasn't able to edit and publish until Saturday the 14th. Is it due to a curse???? Or just Jonathan's poor time management skills? Probably the second one. Anyway, we talk about stuff like how HBO Max and Paramount+ may end up being combined if the acquisition deal goes through, how being Dorothy Gale changed the lives of various actors, and spiders the size of Andrew Garfield. Send a textEver notice how the smallest rituals shape a whole week? We start with pancakes and land in a smart tour of everyday choices that actually move the needle: strength training as metabolic armor, sunscreen that matters even by a window, and flossing that quietly adds years. Along the way we celebrate two back‑to‑back school galas—one a joyous dance party, the other a sleek cocktail vibe—and talk about how inclusive games like Plinko and raffles make fundraising feel welcoming instead of exclusive. The conversation then shifts to the heart: a brief Sesame Street segment where Andrew Garfield talks grief with Elmo, and why clear, gentle language helps both kids and adults. We test our attention with a New York Times 10‑minute art challenge, slowing down long enough to notice hidden initials and layered patterns in Klimt's Woman in Gold. That practice of deliberate focus pairs with a story of radical longevity: an 82‑year‑old ultrarunner sporting a 20‑year‑old's VO2 max and a 3:39 marathon, proof that late starts and steady habits still rewrite limits. Then we open the word “showers” from two sides. First, bathing: a quirky history from waterfalls to hand‑pumped recirculators, plus real‑world routines, hot vs cold debates, post‑workout cooldowns, and the towel systems that keep laundry from taking over your life. Second, celebrations: baby and bridal showers in a world where many couples already live together. We swap stories on registries, diaper raffles, and why a simple luncheon with a thoughtful basket sometimes beats a performative party. We wrap with highs and lows—from community wins to a mudroom makeover that de‑clutters the kitchen—and an invitation to choose presence over autopilot. If this mix of warmth, wellness, and real life made you smile, follow the show, share it with a friend, and leave a quick rating or review to help others find us.Mike Haggerty Buick GMCRight on the corner, right on the price!
Hello and welcome to Bill vs the MCU! Each month your hosts Pop Break Podcasting Director Alex Marcus and Pop Break Editor in Chief Bill Bodkin are taking another step into the wider Marvel Multiverse as the MCU dives deeper into their Multiverse Saga.Bill & Alex spent all of 2022 rewatching the first four phases of the MCU, and, in the years since, they have covered the first four seasons of Agents of SHIELD, the entire Netflix Defenders Saga, Fox's X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Daredevil films, the Blade trilogy, a few Punisher films, Ang Lee's Hulk, and, most recently, Marvel's Modern Animation line up of shows. This month, Alex & Bill are celebrating Valentine's Day by covering the most romantic Spider-Man franchise: The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the two films Sony made because they contractually had to make…something. These films star Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and a wildly overqualified cast of supporting players. They get into how these films came into being, what about them works better than you might remember, what about them is even worse than you thought was possible, and what Sony's Spider-Man Cinematic Universe that almost was might have looked like before they fired Garfield and kicked the franchise's creative direction over the Marvel Studios for a second reboot in under a decade. They also give early thoughts on Wonder Man and the latest trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, both of which the pod will cover in their July 2026 episode.Come back next month for part three of Podding the Spider-Verse with reviews of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), now streaming on Netflix, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), now streaming on Disney Plus!
For our first podcast of 2026 we review Hacksaw Ridge (2016), directed by Mel Gibson and starring Andrew Garfield. The film tells the remarkable true story of Desmond Doss, a World War II medic who refused to carry a weapon due to his faith but went on to save 75 men during the Battle of Okinawa, becoming the first conscientious objector to receive the Medal of Honor. Is Hacksaw Ridge simply a brutal war film, or is it one of the most inspiring true stories ever brought to the screen?

Lin-Manuel Miranda returns to The Hamilcast for the third and final time… at least for now. Lin was first on the show in 2017, and it was true Russell Hammond partying with "real Topeka people" moment when he came over to a then-stranger's apartment and recorded in my living room for about four hours. In this penultimate episode, we're talking about HamilTEN, HamilTEEN, and HamilTIME. Translation: the ways the show did and didn't celebrate the ten year anniversary, the fact that Hamilton will be the high school play in a few years (!!!), and how things and people have changed over the last decade of Hamilton being out in the world. We also talk about Lin's experience with Jonathan Larson's tick, tick... BOOM!, from having his mind blown after seeing it for the first time over 20 years ago, to directing the film adaptation ("Andrew Garfield was the other hand on the ouija board" - whaaaat?!), and the similarities and differences in Lin's and Jonathan's writing styles. And hey boppers, I hope you're ready because we get into Lin's work on Warriors: The Concept Album with Eisa Davis and I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS. Lin talks about how the concept album came to be, what it was like to work on this extremely women-centric project, how 1979 is "fertile" for music, our mutual love for Aneesa Folds, and the fact that Lin asked super famous MCs like Nas to rap lyrics THEY DIDN'T WRITE about the BOROUGH. THEY. ARE. FROM. Incredible. We wrap it all up talking about Basketcase, Lin's nineties jukebox musical that lives in the hearts of millennials and Gen Xers everywhere. This episode was recorded in November of 2025 at WTF Media Studios in Manhattan and produced with Natalie Grillo from Any Moment Productions in collaboration with Meghan Miles. They reflect on creative partnership, long-term thinking, and the parallels between collecting art and stewarding talent—both rooted in conviction, patience, and belief.
This emotional interview with the actor Andrew Garfield is a listener favorite. In it, Garfield talks about his 2024 film “We Live in Time,” in which he plays a newly divorced man named Tobias who falls in love with a chef named Almut, played by Florence Pugh. Their story feels epic and expansive, but still intimate. It focuses on the small, everyday moments that make up a love story: washing dishes together after a dinner party, sharing biscuits, smelling fruit at a farmers' market. These are the moments that sustain the couple through Almut's excruciatingly difficult medical crisis.Garfield tells Anna Martin, host of “Modern Love,” why this film about the intertwined nature of joy and grief came into his life at just the right moment, and gives an unexpectedly raw reading of Chris Huntington's essay “Learning to Measure Time in Love and Loss.”"Modern Love" will return on Jan. 7 with all new episodes. In this deeply moving episode of The Determined Society, host Shawn French sits down with Liz Caplan, world-renowned vocal coach, founder of Liz Caplan Voice Studios, and trusted voice teacher to some of the biggest names in film, television, and Broadway, including Hugh Jackman, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Andrew Garfield, Ben Platt, Stephen Colbert, and more. From growing up with asthma to discovering that singing and breathwork could literally change how her body functioned, Liz explains how music became her first medicine, long before success, recognition, or a thriving business. She shares how deep, intentional breathing can calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and create a natural “high” with no crash, no hangover, and no harm.Liz also pulls back the curtain on her journey from teaching a few students to becoming one of the most trusted vocal coaches in the industry, explaining how small steps, word of mouth, and genuine care built a world-class career rooted in service, not ego. Key Takeaways-Your voice and breath are powerful healing tools, not just performance skills.-Deep, intentional breathing can regulate the nervous system and reduce anxiety naturally.-True success is built slowly through service, trust, and word-of-mouth consistency.-Burnout often comes from absorbing others' energy; learning to release it is essential.-Creativity, music, and movement can be medicine when used with intention.-Determination means continuing your mission with empathy, care, and integrity. In this episode, Eric swings through three eras of Spider-Man and the three actors who defined them: Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. This isn't a “who's best” debate. It's a character study — why Tobey still feels like the heart of Peter Parker, why Andrew's electric, grief-soaked Spider-Man lives in our ribs, and why Tom Holland's MCU Spidey might be the most complete journey we've seen so far. From Uncle Ben's unfinished conversation in the Raimi trilogy, to Gwen's haunting fall in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, to the lonely, sacrificial reset of No Way Home, Eric follows how each Spider-Man carries his own scars… and how their crossover feels less like fan service and more like destiny. Three Spider-Men. Three unfinished stories. One legacy that refuses to fade.

In the new movie After The Hunt, Julia Roberts plays a Yale professor who finds herself in a hard place when one of her star students (Ayo Edebiri) makes an allegation against another faculty member (Andrew Garfield). Who's telling the truth? Who's the victim? Is there a victim? Directed by Luca Guadagnino (Challengers, Call Me by Your Name) the film poses a lot of questions.
