Hello Hot Dogs! I've waited for this day for over 14 years: mix #100 is live. When I released my first mix in 2010, I titled it [001] instead of [01]. Using three digits was aspirational, a quiet promise to myself that I might one day reach triple digits. These mixes trace the narrative of my adult life. They've been the thread connecting me with so many of you—some I'll never meet, others who've become close friends (and even roommates—hi Dan, hi James). Back when I released my first mix in 2010, we were still buying mix CDs for our cars. Soundcloud was just emerging, and I committed to monthly releases to this new platform. I may be overreaching here, but I can't remember any other DJs presenting conceptual mixes, monthly, as packaged works of art: a conceptual title, description, and artwork. That consistency and novelty helped build a following outside of my local scene, and when my 2012 Robot Heart recording came out, things really took off internationally. By 2015, the momentum led me to leave my software engineering job for full-time DJing—largely thanks to these Soundcloud mixes. I was purely a DJ then with a nascent Manjumasi label formed with Mark Slee, not releasing my first original track “Peculiar Colors” until 2017. The landscape in 2024 looks different. As Soundcloud rotted to hell and Spotify rose, the value of mixes has sharply declined. With thousands released daily, they've become ubiquitous. The career path for electronic artists now revolves around original productions and social media presence. This industry evolution pushed me toward producing my own music, opening up new creative paths I'm grateful for. The social media aspect has felt natural, as it's been an integral part of my project from the start. These last few years, the touring schedule, studio time, and home life as a husband and father slowed me down from my monthly cadence, but each mix still feels like a deep-rooted part of my message to the world, (mostly) through other people's music. Mix [100] was recorded September 7, 2024, at Public Works in San Francisco, the city that "raised me" as a club kid, where I first learned to DJ. This 5-hour set marked my last show in North America before taking an indefinite mental health break from touring. Playing this set was emotional, to the point of tears in the DJ booth, with support pouring in from both new listeners and those who've been there since the beginning. I couldn't think of a better way to reach 100. I've also created http://www.atish100.com to house all my mixes and their 1,400+ tracklists in one place, which I'll keep updating as new mixes go up on Soundcloud and YouTube. This mix marks a meaningful milestone for me. Thank you for making this journey possible. You, and the 1400+ artists and labels I referenced helped create a life I never imagined.

Download: atish.lnk.to/terrazzo Finally my first studio mix in 8 months, feels like it's been forever! This features a walk through some of the sounds that have caught my ear the last few months, touching on a few different styles and feelings. I had recently spent some time in Barcelona, observing terrazzo style flooring with shells set within polished concrete. This felt like an apt metaphor for this DJ mix, where each track is an ornamental shell, helping support a greater polished purpose. Hope you enjoy! Download: atish.lnk.to/texaseclipse I had the peaktime midnight slot with the honor of playing after Lee Burridge, so I started this one off with an organic vibe then transitioned through prog, tech-house, and just some straight up bangers. A few unreleased ID's in there from my boys Enamour , m.o.n.r.o.e and Saqib. Also funny moment: you may notice that the set just abruptly ends. That's because the next act accidentally unplugged the wrong cable from the mixer. Was definitely a nerve-wracking moment….BUT my recorder also recorded the crowd noise, so it's kinda a cool little audio capture of what it felt like...and you can literally hear the next DJ say "OH SHIT!!" ....The warm applause from all of you certainly softened the blow :) Tracklist: 098 - Live at Texas Eclipse [0:00:00] atish, Fabian Krooss - Elasticity [A Tribe Called Kotori 2024] [0:05:00] Sarkis Mikael, Nhii - Plant Power [Sounds of Khemit 2024] [0:09:00] Enamour - ID [0:13:00] Jamie Stevens & Ivan Aliaga - Firefox [Solis Records 2024] [0:17:00] Sasha - Fleuron Drift [Last Night on Earth 2024] [0:24:00] Martin Eyerer - Walk the talk [Still Hot 2024] [0:28:00] Ellroy - Safe Landing [Modelika 2024] [0:32:00] Denney - Trojan Dance [Last Night On Earth 2024] [0:36:00] Cristina Lazic - Luna [La Zic 2024] [0:40:00] m.O.N.R.O.E. - ID [0:46:00] Asher - Shifty [Aus Music 2022] [0:50:00] Deetron - Runnin [Nu Groove Records 2024] [0:54:00] John Tejada - Sweat (On The Walls) [Poker Flat RecordingsPoker Flat Recordings 2004] [0:58:00] Francesca Lombardo - Sea [Ovum Recordings 2022] [1:04:00] Saqib - ID [1:08:00] Catz 'n Dogz - ASA [Pets Recordings 2023] [1:13:00] Tom Demac - Sink Or Swim [Hypercolour 2017] [1:17:00] Polo (AR) - Nostalgia del Presente (Danny Howells Remix) [Manjumasi Unreleased] [1:23:00] Jim Rivers - Cosmos [COD3 QR 2023] Sign up for my mailer: bit.ly/atishmusic - connect -

Driven by a hypnotic riff of massive stacked synth chords, this tune evokes the optimism and euphoric expansiveness of turn-of-the-millenium progressive house, while at the same time featuring a modern melancholic edge that places this track firmly in dance music's current moment. First up is Manjumasi label co-founder atish with a bouncing, dancefloor friendly take on Whopper. Solid pulsating bass energy and tasty shaker grooves keep the energy flowing throughout. Next is Belgian producer Hermanez with a masterful deep interpretation, whose airy pads and synths move into a more ethereal realm, creating a sense of movement and expansion. Finally, Berlin producer Kyong Sono (fka Kyongpaul) turns in a very heady take on The Little Things, really bringing the melodies and synthwork to the forefront over delicate percussion with a human touch and natural feel, a perfect one for the early evenings or slightly lower-tempo dancefloors. This lets me truly DJ in the moment. No thinking, only feeling. And this recording is a slice of what I'm trying to express through music, sitting outside a box: not just house, not just organic, not just progressive, not just melodic house/techno, not just tech house (or deep tech or whatever we call it)… …a little bit of everything, as long as it flows and we all dance. As a side note, I've been getting more and more comfortable playing some of my own unsigned productions, so you'll find a few tunes you haven't heard from me before. Hope you enjoy! First up, Map.ache offers a groove-driven smooth and floaty remix of Touch & Go, well balanced with intricate details. Next up, Mihai Popoviciu & Markus Homm do what they do best, putting some dance floor heat on Instant Transmission with a super-sturdy bassline groove and dubby textures floating over the mix. Fast-rising Japanese producer boys be kko turns in two melodic mixes, with the Sanya Mix featuring a ripping unique synth lead, and the Yanagi Edit focusing on the deeper side of the groove and textures. iO Mulen takes things in a unique direction with a breakbeat-infused remix that mixes throwback elements with edgy modern sound design. Finally, Indian producer Kohra wraps up the package with a late night interpretation, dark and dub-infused with molten metallic textures. Yet at the same time I find myself frequently caught in moments of nothingness. This mix does very little, and it also does a lot. Some of it's stripped, groove-focused, and lazy. But it transitions into something dense, complex, and anxious. My goal was to have each track reach a bit further than the last, leaving the listener to wonder where the hell we're all going. Sign of the times, in many ways. Also happy to say this mix opens with a track from my upcoming collaboration EP with YokoO and another track from the release is a bit later in the mix. Download Mix: https://atishmusic.lnk.to/atishallnightLA2019 Ahoy, happy to share this recording from the last Atish All Night LA in 2019. I fondly reflect on this event as the most fulfilling event I've ever produced and one of the best crowds I've played for as a DJ. I've been lucky to have a deep and growing relationship with the LA underground scene, and this all-night warehouse party in LA was a culmination of those experiences over the last decade. This recording is a 1.5 hr slice from 2019, and I think it touches on a few of the moods I like to go into: housey, driving, progressive, deep, stripped, and minimal. If you're in LA this weekend, I hope you can catch Atish All Night (outdoors). I've moved the event from the warehouse to an open-air ranch just outside the city. Happy to release a new mix today. This one is an hour clip from a longer recording posted on my Patreon page. When people ask what's my favorite place (outside Burning Man) to DJ, The Bow in Buenos Aires is always in my top 3. Argentinians have a passion for music that I haven't seen anywhere else in the world (and really a passion for just about everything). Most track breakdowns are met with huge cheers, and even when the night ends, the crowd refuses to go home as they hang around after 6am demanding more music. It's really a DJ's dream. Another thing I love about The Bow is that it's a 3000 person club, but the DJ booth is pretty low to the ground and within arm's reach of the audience. The club has the perfect blend of energy and intimacy that holds a dear place in my heart. This is a recording from my 2017 set at The Bow. Once this pandemic ends, I desperately hope to play there again. It's a bit on the driving side, but takes a couple turns towards the deeper side to balance it out. Hope you enjoy! 'Warbler' EP Available here: https://www.beatport.com/release/warbler/2773395 Number twenty on San Francisco's Manjumasi is the second solo artist EP from label co-founder atish. With the Warbler EP, atish presents a pair of original tracks that showcase strange and unique melodic stylings across two distinct energy levels, both featuring eerie and compelling string sounds with heavy use of creative effects. The title track, Warbler, has a solid late-night dance floor groove with a lush and haunting synth line anchoring the mid-range groove. Abyss takes things deeper, again veering into eerie sonic territories with vocal pads floating throughout the mix. This one sits in a more restrained rhythmic territory, well suited to the mood-setting opening hours. The package features three top-notch remixes from a collection of very serious producers. Sweden's Dorisburg turns in an incredibly heady interpretation of Abyss, with sparkling glassy pads juxtaposed against a bouncing synth bassline. Melodic master Rodriguez Jr. takes Warbler in a different direction, weaving the original elements into a tapestry of his signature arpeggios and synth crescendos. Lastly, Fort Romeau turns in an energetic Warbler mix, anchored by a long-building stabby bassline that develops into a real acid-tinged driver. Usually on stage, I'm consciously thinking about sectioning my set by mood, intensity, BPM, and texture...but perhaps unconsciously I was also thinking about grouping music together by age...or maybe it was just a coincidence. Regardless, I now have a new way to think about building an arc of a set, which is kind of fun. I thought it all came together alright, so I hope you enjoy the recording as much as I enjoyed playing. I'm happy to release this new studio mix for you. I've been releasing mixes much less frequently these days - I used to be on a monthly cadence, but I started working on this mix in July. Counterintuitively, it gets increasingly harder for me to finish studio mixes, even though I think I'm a better mix-maker now. Sure, the newly added demands of touring, music production, event production, running a label, and home life all pull away from the time needed to complete a studio mix. But beyond that, I think there's a bit of an artist/curator's dilemma: the more resolute and refined I evolve in my taste, the harder it is to achieve satisfaction. Every track selection carries an increasingly large weight, every transition is held to a higher standard of detail, and more broadly, I constantly feel compelled to try to say something I haven't sonically said before. Otherwise, what's the point? I worked to build tension in the first half of this mix, much like stacking weights on a fragile plate of glass. Inevitably the glass breaks, and in this case, the ‘break' is a literal one with the 2nd half of the mix inspired by 2-step, drum n bass, and experimental broken beats spiraling out of control. I had a lot of fun with this one, especially after the glass breaks. Hope you enjoy listening, I hope you hear something from me here that you haven't heard before. I'm happy to release my recording from Sandbox Festival in Hurghada Egypt. I always love playing the Middle East. The sights, sounds, tastes, and smells are very different than my home, all of which represent one of my favorite aspects of DJing: getting enjoy the world's diversity. Beyond that, I've found that the people of the region are an incredibly friendly and passionate bunch, so playing a festival that attracts the heads from many across the region was special for me. The Sandbox mainstage was a big one - these stages are sometimes tricky for me as I feel pressured to go for the jugular and bang out a medley of big drops for those hands in the air moments, but I resisted the pressure and went instead for undulation between the deep moments building to the big ones while maintaining a steady groove through. Hope that idea came through, hope you enjoy the set, and can't wait to make my way back to the Middle East! Thanks @moagalleryph (IG) for the photo. Happy May, everyone! I'm pleased to share this new mix with you. These last few months, I've been working on observing the shift within my taste as a DJ, producer, and label head. I find that these moments of self reflection help move ambiguous implicit decisions to explicit artistic choices. This helps me move closer to operating with artistic fearlessness. I'm spending more time reaching outside the boxes I've been sitting in, while at the same time keeping a foot in the door as a nod to where I've come from. This diffusion between worlds is what's most exciting to me at the moment. Hopefully you too. I'm happy to share some music that drifts its way through a passage of sounds. These tunes span a range of styles all under the umbrella of house (or techno, in the case of dub techno), shared by the feeling of floating, buoyed above a sea that moves it. I was also happy to sneak in a couple unreleased @Manjumasi tunes in there, including a number from our first ever vinyl release coming out soon. Hope you enjoy! Hard to believe, but it's been a year and half since I released my last studio concept mix. I'm excited to break the streak and share this with you today. I've always considered these self-released studio mixes the backbone of my identity. They were the primary medium of artistic communication - from me to you - for many years. Of course, some live recordings and guest mixes were released along the way, but they're not quite the same as a self-released studio mix... mostly because these aren't bound by any aesthetic constraints (like the sound of a label, podcast, or responsiveness of a dance floor in the moment). These mixes are my most authentic voice. After taking a long break from the one thing that's been so fundamental to defining who I am, I thought deeply about what I wanted to say, which was a delightful challenge. How can I remain continuous from where I left off in August, 2017? At the same time, how can I avoid falling into the trap of doing what I've always done? After all, music has changed... you've changed... my taste has changed, but I'm still me. Or am I now someone else? Release number fifteen on San Francisco's @Manjumasi revisits the Atish + Friends EP, with a diverse collection of remixes from a serious roster of producers. Leading the charge is Berlin's Andre Lodemann, who delivers an interpretation of Atish and Mark Slee's “Chameleon” in his classic style, combining intricate percussion and steadily building interwoven synth lines. With its deep pulsing bass texture, the result is a complex and heady track with a crescendo of energy. Next up is Nick Warren and Nicolas Rada, a powerhouse production duo whose version of “Chameleon” is a deep and chuggy journey through the track's landscapes, slightly slowed down to really let the textures shine. The third remix on the package sees Brooklyn-based Brian Cid return to the label with a deep and driving interpretation of Atish and Tim Engelhardt's “Bullfrog,” employing a hypnotic hang-drum riff to work in unison with the original's stabby synth lines. Closing out the package are two versions of Atish and Bengal's “Tortoise.” DoubtingThomas strips the lush track down to its bare elements, letting each element shine in a more minimal version well-suited for the quirky late-night dancefloors or the afterhours. Finally, label A&R rep Naveen G kicks up the energy and turns in a stormer, with hints of progressive energy, an insistent bassline and trippy psychedelic arpeggios. https://soundcloud.com/lodemann https://www.facebook.com/andrelodemann https://soundcloud.com/djnickwarren https://www.facebook.com/NickWarrenDJ https://soundcloud.com/nicolasrada https://www.facebook.com/djnicolasrada https://soundcloud.com/briancid https://www.facebook.com/briancidmusic https://soundcloud.com/doubtingthomas https://www.facebook.com/ARdoubtingthomas https://soundcloud.com/naveen-g https://www.facebook.com/djnaveeng https://soundcloud.com/atish https://www.facebook.com/atishmusic https://soundcloud.com/timengelhardt https://www.facebook.com/tim.engelhardt.artist https://soundcloud.com/mcslee https://www.facebook.com/marksleemusic https://soundcloud.com/bengalsf https://www.facebook.com/bengalsf

Following hot on the heels of last year's solo debut "Peculiar Colors," Atish returns to the label in fine form with a trio of collaborations. Each named after an amphibian or reptilian creature, the three tracks showcase Atish's musical range. First up is Bullfrog, produced together with fast-rising German talent @timengelhardt. A chunky percussive bass groove drifts over liquid smooth lily-pads, laying a foundation for the quirky, croaking synth riff that makes the track's heady hook. Second on the package is Chameleon, a collaboration with label co-founder @mcslee. This one is a driving melodic groover that oscillates between musical colors, with a light floating pad melody and slip-sliding glissando synth playing counterpoint to edgy stabs. Rounding out the package is Tortoise, a team effort with SF talent @bengalsf. Like the animal, this tune is slow-moving and wise, demonstrating strength through patience in the form of a groove that gently meanders and builds with rich detail. - Connect with atish - @atish facebook.com/atishmusic instagram.com/atishmusic - Manjumasi - @Manjumasi facebook.com/manjumasimusic instagram.com/manjumasi
