And theres more! When you have two killer cuts and two amazing vocalists, myriad options present themselves. What twists and turns can we take with these beauties to help spread the word of their sonic luminescence further and wider? Thus, we proudly present part two of our The Call / Rollin On double header. Having previously unleashed two epic versions of The Call in Andrews original full vocal and instrumental versions, three more interpretations here complete a hard hitting five-star collection. Jim Rivers, veteran of Bedrock and Renaissance and more recently heard killing it on Poker Flat, takes the road more dubby, with snatches of Andres vocal teased in and around an altogether tougher re-rub that will undoubtedly find favour in the darker recesses of discerning dancefloors far and wide, as it builds towards its epic crescendo. The Ambient mix has already found favour with chill out dons Pete Gooding and Phat Phil Cooper – this beatless beauty will be soundtracking a White Isle sunset near you soon. Meanwhile the Radio Edit distils the wondrous essence of the lengthy main version into four magnificent minutes. Meanwhile Mr Sant continues to spoil us, delivering an acidic throbber of a dub excursion on Rollin On, a perfect complement to the full vocal version, with just enough of Paulines vocal exhortations to ensure recognition and exhilaration. Team Selador – On and on. x

Danny Howells - Powershow / Stereodrama - Selador Very early support from Khen, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Spencer Brown, Quivver, Anthony Pappa, Jim Rivers, AFFKT, Timo Maas, and Terry Farley. Aaah, Danny Howells. How do we love thee? Let us count the ways. We love you for your mastery of the art of DJing – many shades, always nuance – yet cohesive, powerful, enthralling, unifying. We love how you take those touchstones of DJ craft, and effortlessly transfer them to the studio, delivering finally crafted tunes par excellence, unerringly hitting the bullseye time after time. We love how ‘Powershow' effortlessly fuses an ethereal, uplifting and other-worldly ambience with filthy machine funk. We love how ‘Stereodrama' does exactly what it says on the tin, soaring sounds, gorgeous grooviness and subtle peaks and troughs colliding with dramatic effect. We love that decades of looking for the perfect beat, forever opening yourself to new sonic possibilities, has so evidently been poured into these tunes like liquid gold. We love the way that you break the DJ mould, your head forever above the parapet as you speak up for social justice and animal rights. We love your endless collection of natty threads and headgear and frankly, are more than a tad envious of your finely chiselled cheekbones. And we love that once again you have entrusted Selador with some of your majestic musical missives. Alright, alright, we know… we'll get a room. Team Selador - Love is in the air. x

Steve Parry - Won't You Believe? (incl. Dachshund Remix) - Selador Early support from John Digweed, Frankey & Sandrino, Khen, Bog, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Jim Rivers, James Harcourt, Yulia Niko, Nicole Moudaber, Spencer Brown, Just Her, AFFKT, Anthony Pappa It is, of course, no surprise that there Selador catalogue is peppered with stellar contributions from Da Boss (job share) Steve Parry. Indeed, many of them are undoubtedly among our finest moments – tracks like ‘Fenner', ‘303V' and ‘Squidfist' are both close to our hearts and the signal for serious dancefloor carnage whenever dropped. Over the last couple of years, Steve has focused on some choice collabs – among them his ‘Marmalade Skies' hook up with Renato Cohen, one of the label's biggest tunes in The Year of Big Tunes that was our 10th birthday; while the Nunchi Coup team up with partner Dave Seaman produced a trio of big hitters that racked up the streams. However, Steve's last solo outing was (checks notes…) – 2020?! Parry, you lazy &*£*&$!!! Anyway, “we'll deal with that internally”. The good news is that while the follow-up to that year's mighty double header of ‘Roll the Dice' and ‘What You Make It' may fall into the “long awaited” bracket, it certainly fits the “worth the wait” bill. In true Ste Pazza style, it morphs genres for fun – it's deep but squelchily acidic, heads down progmungous but with the catchiest of ‘light touch' vocal hooks, all riding atop a techno train. Meanwhile, we're delighted to usher another label debutant through the door marked ‘so delighted to have you on board' – yes sireee, Dachshund is in the building. What's more, he delivers a remix which does what too many re-rubs don't do – it acknowledges and utilises key elements from the original version. However, it does so while effortlessly blending in a plethora of fresh riffage, from the melodic to the klangtastic. Bullseye. Team Selador – You better believe it! x

Ready for new summer season tasting a new episode for Emotional Melodies Summer series with an exclusive and electronic set compiled and mixed by Claudia Castel. Unlike most dj's, C. Castel first cemented her name at home by playing at the clubs, events and big fashion shows, thus giving way to the rest of the Europe. She also did a series of showcases for Global Underground alongside Jim Rivers and Paul Thomas while securing multiple residencies with Blackwiz Records and her very own C. Castel's Deep House Music Sessions. Castel has always kept her head grounded firmly focusing on DJing and her innovative take on nu school house and progressive techhouse, backed up by a list of hit releases on distinguished labels such as Defected, Mn2S, Sony and Blackwiz Records to name a few.As a youngster in a modern dance group she developed from a dancer to a songwriter over the following years. While writing lyrics, she became more intrigued with the art of Djing, and her ambitions grew from there. It was at the age of 13 when she won the coveted Fashion TV contest, signing her to a top modeling agency. Having spent many successful years strutting the famous catwalks in the world in cities like Paris, London, Milano, Munich and Tokyo is where she discovered a plethora of house, electro and minimal beats. It was at that moment she realized music was going to be part of her life's canvas.C. Castel made it on to the clubs scene in the early 2003's, which sparked her interest in production. Her real breakthrough came in 2010 with the signing of Moonrise/KMA to Blackwiz Records ...a pair of tracks that crossed over from progressive to tech. Major support came in early from all the heavy weights including: Mark Knight who featured it on his Toolroom Knights Radio Show which aired on 35 stations in 21 countries| Roger Sanchez | Funkerman | Ralph Lawson | Xpress 2 | Nic Fanciulli | ATFCSince then C. Castel has gone on to release a string of hits on a variety of labels and continues her collaborative achievements with Sandy Rivera including ‘Dirty Sax', ‘Persuasion ft Rae' ‘Deeper ft Haze', ‘Hide U ft Rae' and most recently her remix of Kings of Tomorrow ‘Finally', all of which have been independently awarded ‘Tune of the Month' in Mixmag at various points over the last year. Her latest remix for Kings Of Tomorrow ‘Let Me Tell You Something' out on Defected supported by Pete Tong on his Radio 1 show, is already reporting seismic waves in clubland. Unlike their close relatives, which include puffins and murres, the marbled murrelet is a bird of two worlds. It gets its food from the ocean but raises its young up to 50 miles inland in mature forests. Jim Rivers, assistant professor in the College of Forestry, discusses an ongoing Oregon State University research project to learn more about the behavior of this endangered species.
Dr. Jim Rivers is a vertebrate ecologist and leader of the Forest Animal Ecology Lab at Oregon State University. With broad research interests that are focused in the fields of animal behavior and physiological ecology, his research program combines observational, experimental, and comparative approaches to test predictions from theory in empirical settings. He recently lead the Pollinators in Managed Forests workshop, which brought together speakers from Oregon State, Washington State, Montana State and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to address a variety of topics, including the influence of wildfire severity, salvage logging, herbicides and practical ways to augment blooms for native bees. We’re talking today about how pollinator habitats and forests coexist and work with each other, the ways that bees thrive in forested areas, and how he and others in the field have begun researching the interaction of pollinators in forested areas. “There’s a lot more that we don’t know about bees in managed forests than what we do know.“ - Dr. Jim Rivers. Rod B. & Mareis bring you the Miami Sessions @ Miami Underground Movement Paolo Mojo is firmly established as a leading light on the underground house music scene with a large global following and a consistent production schedule that keeps him in demand all over the world. A true ‘international’, there are not many countries that haven’t had a touch of the Mojo magic these days. He's earned himself a formidable global fan base thanks to his hectic schedule…Womb in Tokyo, Ministry of Sound in London, Avalon in Los Angeles, Warung Beach in Brazil, Wonderland in Ibiza, Chinese Laundry in Sydney and Zouk in Singapore are just some of the venues he graces consistently. It’s all built on the back of a consistent, high profile discography. 2011 starts with a bang with the Essential Selection playlisted ‘Mmmm Daaa’ snapped up by legendary house label Strictly Rhythm for a spring release. His much hyped ‘All Night, Alright’ is to be released on hot Italian label 303 Lovers, home of Manuel De La Mare and Alex Kenji, whose remix of the track is under development. Finally his ‘Welcome To the Factory’ sampling track of the same name has been personally approved by Angel Moraes, and is set for a spring release on Dj Chus’ Stereo Music. 2010 saw successful singles released on Noir (Crazy For You) Hysterical (Disco Kiss) and Younan Music (He's The Man). Remixes of Saeed Younan and Rainer Weichold’s for German label Great Stuff followed, as did his well received Foxhunt / Soca! single. Elsewhere, his track 1983 on Eric Prydz’ Pryda Friends has become a true club classic. He’s also released tracks on Pryda and Mouseville (the only ‘outside’ artist to do so) and a varied and vast list of other labels.. Bedrock, Saved, NRK, Cr2, Toolroom, Renaissance, Great Stuff, Positiva, EQ Recordings, Factomania, Little Mountain, Curfew Nervous, Ego Records.. the list goes on. At the heart of his work lies his own label Oosh, which over the course of the last three years has landed him two BBC Essential New Tunes and two Beatport overall top ten hits. Pete Tong also named ‘JMJ’ (2007) and ‘Sirena’ (2008) his ‘top tunes of the summer. The label has expanded to include the cream of house and techno producers such as Wally Lopez, Rene Amesz, DJ Yellow, Noir, Jim Rivers, Juan Sanchez, King Unique, Alan Fitzpatrick and Saeed Younan and the first Paolo Mojo ‘Ten To One’ compilation release will follow in February 2011. His associated podcast Ooshcast has become one of the most popular downloads around since its launch in December 2009. Its no surprise then, that he was name checked as one of the hottest producers of the year in 2008 by Pete Tong on BBC Radio One, and has scored two well received Essential mixes for Radio One already. On the compilation front he has been described by IDJ Magazine as ‘the master of the mix cd’ For evidence of this look no further than his award winning Balance 009 for EQ Recordings, now regarded as something of a classic mix compilation, or his Renaissance Digital 001. With an astonishing work ethic in the studio and his endless special re-edits, he's an innovative DJ whose enviable technical ability and a thriving, huge loyal underground fanbase ensure that he will remain a star of the scene for many years to come. http://www.facebook.com/paolomojo http://www.twitter.com/paolomojo
Rod B. & Mareis bring you the Miami Sessions @ Miami Underground Movement Christian Smith has been at the top of his game as a DJ and producer for over a decade, but despite enjoying a global reputation as one of the most evergreen performers in his field, times have never been quite as good as they are right now. Born in Sweden, Christian spent much of his youth and early adult life in Germany and America. This exposure to different cultures gave Christian a broader ou tlook than most 30-somethings, even for a well-travelled DJ more familiar with Star Alliance lounges than home comforts. This open-minded outlook comes through loud and clear in the music he makes and plays. While his roots lie in techno, Christian has never been a purist; favouring instead to flavour the tough, rhythmical music he loves with heavy doses of funk or intersperse the raw energy of his sets with inspired moments of pure euphoria. 2009 has been quite a ride so far, and the signs are all there that this year will be Christian Smith’s busiest to date. Having recently relocated to Sao Paulo, Brazil from Spain, it would have been easy to lose touch with the scene’s beating pulse in Europe. Not so for the man whose recent production schedule reads like a discography wish list. Christian Smith & John Selway’s “Total Departure” on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label was one of the tunes if 2008. This was followed by three singles for John Digweed’s Bedrock label which were all a massive success in the clubs and retail stores, as were his releases on Dubfire’s Sci+Tec label, Renaissance, and Steve Lawler’s Viva imprint. The Smith & Selway remix of the Kevin Saunderson classic “Rock To The Beat” was another massive success in Ibiza, and there were other superb remixes for Valentino Kanzyani’s Jesus Loves You, Nic Fanciulli’s Saved and Dieb Audio. The end result – over 30,000 downloads on Beatport in 2008. The second half of 2009 will be dominated by the first in a trilogy of mix compilations for legendary clubbing brand, Renaissance. The release of Christian Smith – Platform in September will put Christian on a footing with other Renaissance acts Sander Kleinenberg, Hernan Cattaneo, James Zabiela and Steve Lawler and provide the continuity for a mammoth 30+ date world tour that will stop off at parties across Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America over the coming months. As a DJ, Christian plays everything between house and techno. Never one for a purist approach, he simply believes that people go out to party. The secret is in the energy that he creates, as witnessed in 2008 at Wire Festival, Tokyo; Brazil’s Skol Beats Festival; Awakenings Festival, Amsterdam (featuring a Smith & Selway live show), Space, Ibiza (with Carl Cox), Ministry Of Sound, London (with Pete Tong); and Fabric’s new uber-cool, Matter alongside John Digweed and James Zabiela. Honoured as Carl Cox’s “Hero of 2008” and with the success of his productions breeding a renewed energy for studio time, the natural next step was for Christian to re-launch his Tronic label. Kicking off in January with a re-release of the Smith & Selway’s classic “Move!” including chart topping remix from Steve Angello, the label has progressed at a pace to place Christian back at the centre of underground music. Featuring tracks from Umek, Mark Broom, Stryke, Fergie and Psycatron, Tronic has resurfaced with a bang and looks set to track Christian’s personal upward trajectory. Look out for future singles from cutting edge producers including Steve Mac, Ramon Tapia, Jim Rivers and Anton Pieete. With massive crossover support for his music from DJ's across the house and techno spectrum the future looks very certain for Christian Smith. Proof if it was needed that it is possible to reinvent your sound and maintain a position at the very top within the vanguard of electronic music. The music emanating from the man is that perfect club mix of driving percussion and soaring musicality, bursting out of the speakers, soaking everyone in melody, drenching them in sound. On the floor, where it really matters, his crowd experience all the peaks and troughs that make his music so unique. Locking on early, you'll hear his deeper take on house, which morphs, as the club mood changes, into harder territory, music for sweating and losing yourself to. And at that point when the light are low, when smoke fills the room and people are dancing on instinct, that's when the melodies start to rise over the top, washing the worries and exertions of life away, completing the club experience. That's why Nick Warren is so respected, because he knows how to truly work a club, and a crowd, delivering again and again. That's what comes with vision and, just as importantly, experience. Nick, a music obsessive who grew up on punk, reggae and pop was, like so many DJs turned onto the power of house music in the late 80s. Living in Bristol, he'd been playing tunes for a few years before, running his own club night, Wiggle, in the city with a friend and he took immediately to this new sound coming from America. In 1990, a new house club, Vision took the city by storm and in a perfect bit of timing, he was offered the chance to play in the upstairs room, spinning weird downbeat Balearic records and mixing house with music by The Clash and Frank Sinatra. Catching the attention of a group of guys who had their own band, he was roped in to tour with them as their DJ when they went to play America. The group was Massive Attack. As their official DJ, he began working on music of his own. Joining up with another Bristol producer, Jody Wisternoff in 1994 to form Way Out West, they recorded the seminal 'Ajare' single together, a huge progressive house club hit. Three years later, and with the duo now signed to Deconstruction, it was re-released, this time breaking into the charts and finally, the nation's consciousness. Then came 'The Gift'. With a memorable hook line culled from an old hardcore track, its mix of ambient soundscapes and breaks won it universal plaudits, sending Nick and Jody onto Top of the Pops and catapulting Nick into the league of the superstar DJ. Their three albums, 'Blue' and "Intensify" and took every single one of the pair's influences and shaped them into a groundbreaking collection of tracks that stayed in the CD players of the UK and beyond for a long, long time. Their third album “Don’t Look Now” was released in 2005, which they toured as a live band with Faithless. Album Four We Love Machine has just been released. And yet all this history has been eclipsed by Nick’s present: a DJ career spanning a decade and a half via his lengthy residency superclub Cream and then every self respecting club on the planet. His sound, which is entirely unique, sourced by forging relationships with cutting edge producers all over the globe, most of his set still made up of unsigned new electronic talent. This is no better represented than in the continuing series of compilations. “Back to Mine”, Renaissance his eighth Global Underground album, this time from the wild environs of Lima making him the most featured artists for this huge compilation series. He has also taken over A&R at Hope Recordings as the final link in the chain that allows him to represent the sound that he has so long championed. Nick Warren isn't for standing still, he loves what he's doing too much for that, but you know that already. If you want to see Nick in action, then check him out at the Gallery @ Ministry of Sound this Friday!! Here’s the event link The Gallery presents Nick Warren Peace!
